“Rebel Moon” predstavlja novi pokušaj stvaranja franšize od strane hitmejkera Zacka Snydera (“Zora živih mrtvaca”, “300”, “Čuvari”, “Sucker Punch”). Prije točno deset godina Snyder je s “Čovjekom od čelika” porinuo DCEU franšizu superjunačkih filmova za Warner Bros i kreirao smjernice za daljnje DC-jeve blockbustere na temelju “Batmana protiv Supermana” i “Lige pravde” (“Wonder Woman”, “Aquaman”...).

Deset godina kasnije, nakon što je za streaming giganta već snimio franšiznu “Vojsku mrtvih”, Snyder radi nešto slično za Netflix i pušta prvi dio “Rebel Moona” istog vikenda kad je u kinima DC-jev “Aquaman 2”. Naime, “Rebel Moon” je dvodijelni film s tendencijom da iznjedri još nastavaka.

Sada, krajem 2023., izašao je “Rebel Moon, prvi dio: Dijete vatre” (“Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child Of Fire”, a drugi, podnaslovljen “The Scargiver”, izlazi u travnju 2024. godine. Za razliku od Snyderove DCEU franšize, “Rebel Moon” nema veze sa superjunačkih stripovima, ali je povezan s “Ratovima zvijezda”.

Štoviše, “Rebel Moon” je izvorno i zamišljen kao “Star Wars” film koji je Snyder ponudio LucasFilmu 2012., prije nego je prava na “Ratove zvijezda” (ot)kupio studio Walt Disney Pictures, da bi ga u međuvremenu preuredio za Netflix. To je prilično vidljivo u ovoj “svemirskoj operi”, sastavljenoj od “Star Wars” arhetipologije.

Imamo pobunu i odmetnike u borbi protiv zlog imperija (ovdje Matica), temu otpora i nove nade, oportunističke akcijske junake u stilu Hana Sola (Kai u tumačenju Charlieja Hunnama), dopadljive robote (s glasom Anthonyja Hopkinsa), obračune u svemirskim kantinama, pa i svjetlosne mačeve u rukama heroina (Doona Bae i njezina Nemesis).

Razlika je samo što su “Ratovi zvijezda” inspirirani “Skrivenom tvrđavom” Akire Kurosawe, a “Rebel Moon” je dodatnu inspiraciju pronašao u klasiku “Sedam samuraja” istog japanskog redatelja, ali i ne samo njemu. U ovom Kurosawa u (“Star Wars”) swemiru filmu, Snyder se inspirirao i “Avatarom”, “Svemirskim marincima”, “Dinom”, “Harryjem Potterom”, “Matrixom”, “Gladijatorom”...

Nakon što nas Hopkinsova naracija uvede u priču o Matici i njezinoj vladavini diljem galaksije, odnosno revoluciji koja se protiv nje sprema, radnja se stacionira unutar idilične farmerske zajednice. Idilu će poremetiti dolazak izaslanika Matice u kvazi-nacističkoj odori, admirala Atticusa Noblea (Ed Skrein).

Admiral je došao s ciljem da preuzme žetvu i uspostavi osvajačku politiku, ako treba i uz uporabu nasilja. Lokalna farmerka Kora (Sofia Boutella), bivša vojnikinja i ratnica, “jedna od najodlikovanijih u povijesti ratovanja” koja je u zajednici pronašla svoj mir, odlučuje unovačiti vojnike za obranu sela/borbu protiv Matice i odlazi u potragu s farmerom Gunnarom (Michiel Huisman).

Kora i Gunnar okupit će spomenutog oportunista Kaija i majstoricu mača Nemesis, bivšeg generala Titusa (Djimon Hounsou), nekadašnjeg princa Taraka (Staz Nair), te vođe pokreta otpora Darriana i Devru Blodaxe (Ray Fisher, Cleopatra Coleman). Gotovo svatko od njih je pojavno zanimljiv i oku ugodan, ali nitko nije posebno upečatljiv kao lik zato što nije originalan i kronično mu nedostaje osobnosti, uostalom kao i samom, pretežno generičnom filmu.

Povremeno u kadru frcnu fleševi originalnosti, recimo prilikom vizualizacije pojedinog planeta ili pojave paukolike Harmade (Jena Malone), ali to su odveć rijetki trenuci. Čak ni Snyderov zaštitni znak, koliko god da je još uvijek atraktivan (akcijski “slow motion” često usporen do zamrznutog kadra), nije posebno nadahnut kao u mnogim njegovim prijašnjim filmovima koji su bili i puno zabavniji i u njima se moglo osjetiti da redatelj gušta dok ih režira.

Ova rečenica je preslik prvog dijela “Rebel Moona”: “Dijete vatre” nije pretjerano inspirativan ni zabavan, no dovoljno atraktivan da može privući gledatelje, premda je u nastojanju da se približi “Ratovima zvijezda” došao bliže “Jupiteru u usponu” i “Valerianu i gradu tisuću planeta”.

Možda je Snyder sačuvao najbolji dio ustanka protiv “ratnog stroja” za nastavak “Rebel Moon: Part Two” kojemu “A Child Of Fire” naizgled služi kao svojevrsni preludij. A možda i najavljeni “director’s cut” prvog dijela usloji likove i načini priču koherentnijom. Snyder je to uspio napraviti s redateljskom verzijom filma “Justice League”.

“Rebel Moon” predstavlja novi pokušaj stvaranja franšize od strane hitmejkera Zacka Snydera (“Zora živih mrtvaca”, “300”, “Čuvari”, “Sucker Punch”). Prije točno deset godina Snyder je s “Čovjekom od čelika” porinuo DCEU franšizu superjunačkih filmova za Warner Bros i kreirao smjernice za daljnje DC-jeve blockbustere na temelju “Batmana protiv Supermana” i “Lige pravde” (“Wonder Woman”, “Aquaman”...).

Deset godina kasnije, nakon što je za streaming giganta već snimio franšiznu “Vojsku mrtvih”, Snyder radi nešto slično za Netflix i pušta prvi dio “Rebel Moona” istog vikenda kad je u kinima DC-jev “Aquaman 2”. Naime, “Rebel Moon” je dvodijelni film s tendencijom da iznjedri još nastavaka.

Sada, krajem 2023., izašao je “Rebel Moon, prvi dio: Dijete vatre” (“Rebel Moon – Part One: A Child Of Fire”, a drugi, podnaslovljen “The Scargiver”, izlazi u travnju 2024. godine. Za razliku od Snyderove DCEU franšize, “Rebel Moon” nema veze sa superjunačkih stripovima, ali je povezan s “Ratovima zvijezda”.

Štoviše, “Rebel Moon” je izvorno i zamišljen kao “Star Wars” film koji je Snyder ponudio LucasFilmu 2012., prije nego je prava na “Ratove zvijezda” (ot)kupio studio Walt Disney Pictures, da bi ga u međuvremenu preuredio za Netflix. To je prilično vidljivo u ovoj “svemirskoj operi”, sastavljenoj od “Star Wars” arhetipologije.

Imamo pobunu i odmetnike u borbi protiv zlog imperija (ovdje Matica), temu otpora i nove nade, oportunističke akcijske junake u stilu Hana Sola (Kai u tumačenju Charlieja Hunnama), dopadljive robote (s glasom Anthonyja Hopkinsa), obračune u svemirskim kantinama, pa i svjetlosne mačeve u rukama heroina (Doona Bae i njezina Nemesis).

Razlika je samo što su “Ratovi zvijezda” inspirirani “Skrivenom tvrđavom” Akire Kurosawe, a “Rebel Moon” je dodatnu inspiraciju pronašao u klasiku “Sedam samuraja” istog japanskog redatelja, ali i ne samo njemu. U ovom Kurosawa u (“Star Wars”) swemiru filmu, Snyder se inspirirao i “Avatarom”, “Svemirskim marincima”, “Dinom”, “Harryjem Potterom”, “Matrixom”, “Gladijatorom”...

Nakon što nas Hopkinsova naracija uvede u priču o Matici i njezinoj vladavini diljem galaksije, odnosno revoluciji koja se protiv nje sprema, radnja se stacionira unutar idilične farmerske zajednice. Idilu će poremetiti dolazak izaslanika Matice u kvazi-nacističkoj odori, admirala Atticusa Noblea (Ed Skrein).

Admiral je došao s ciljem da preuzme žetvu i uspostavi osvajačku politiku, ako treba i uz uporabu nasilja. Lokalna farmerka Kora (Sofia Boutella), bivša vojnikinja i ratnica, “jedna od najodlikovanijih u povijesti ratovanja” koja je u zajednici pronašla svoj mir, odlučuje unovačiti vojnike za obranu sela/borbu protiv Matice i odlazi u potragu s farmerom Gunnarom (Michiel Huisman).

Kora i Gunnar okupit će spomenutog oportunista Kaija i majstoricu mača Nemesis, bivšeg generala Titusa (Djimon Hounsou), nekadašnjeg princa Taraka (Staz Nair), te vođe pokreta otpora Darriana i Devru Blodaxe (Ray Fisher, Cleopatra Coleman). Gotovo svatko od njih je pojavno zanimljiv i oku ugodan, ali nitko nije posebno upečatljiv kao lik zato što nije originalan i kronično mu nedostaje osobnosti, uostalom kao i samom, pretežno generičnom filmu.

Povremeno u kadru frcnu fleševi originalnosti, recimo prilikom vizualizacije pojedinog planeta ili pojave paukolike Harmade (Jena Malone), ali to su odveć rijetki trenuci. Čak ni Snyderov zaštitni znak, koliko god da je još uvijek atraktivan (akcijski “slow motion” često usporen do zamrznutog kadra), nije posebno nadahnut kao u mnogim njegovim prijašnjim filmovima koji su bili i puno zabavniji i u njima se moglo osjetiti da redatelj gušta dok ih režira.

Ova rečenica je preslik prvog dijela “Rebel Moona”: “Dijete vatre” nije pretjerano inspirativan ni zabavan, no dovoljno atraktivan da može privući gledatelje, premda je u nastojanju da se približi “Ratovima zvijezda” došao bliže “Jupiteru u usponu” i “Valerianu i gradu tisuću planeta”.

Možda je Snyder sačuvao najbolji dio ustanka protiv “ratnog stroja” za nastavak “Rebel Moon: Part Two” kojemu “A Child Of Fire” naizgled služi kao svojevrsni preludij. A možda i najavljeni “director’s cut” prvog dijela usloji likove i načini priču koherentnijom. Snyder je to uspio napraviti s redateljskom verzijom filma “Justice League”.
