Njujorška policija priopćila je da traga za naoružanim muškarcem koji je u ponedjeljak otvorio vatru u podzemnoj željeznici u gradskoj četvrti Bronx te ubio jednog čovjeka i ranio još pet osoba.

Pucnjava je odjeknula u vlaku koji je vozio prema sjeveru nakon što je izbila tučnjava između dvije skupine tinejdžera, rekli su dužnosnici njujorške policije (NYPD) tijekom konferencije za novinare ispred postaje gdje se dogodilo nasilje.

Netko iz jedne od grupa izvadio je pištolj. Prvi hitac ispaljen je unutar vlaka, ali svih šestero upucanih osoba bilo je na peronu izvan vlaka kada su ih pogodili meci, izvijestila je policija.

Poginuo je 34-godišnji muškarac, a pet osoba zadobilo je ozljede koje nisu opasne po život.

Žrtve su bile u dobi od 14 do 71 godine, a među njima su bila četiri muškarca i dvije žene.

NYPD je napadaču poručio da je sada najtraženija osoba koju "traže najbolji detektivi na svijetu" te mu predložio da se preda.

Kako bi ublažili strah putnika, policija i dužnosnici tranzitnog sustava na konferenciji za novinare naglasili su da je pucnjava rijetka u podzemnoj željeznici.

Podaci pokazuju da se u njujorškoj podzemnoj željeznici radnim danom prosječno obavi oko 3,8 milijuna putovanja, a bilo je samo 570 kaznenih djela napada u cijeloj 2023. godini.

Pucnjave su posebno neuobičajene. Tako se 2022. godine, kada je muškarac pištoljem ranio 10 ljudi u vlaku koji je prolazio kroz Brooklyn, dogodila prva masovna pucnjava u podzemnoj željeznici od 1984. godine.

Nekoliko tjedana kasnije, u svibnju 2022., napadač je ubio 48-godišnjeg muškarca u, kako je policija rekla, ničim izazvanom napadu.

Strahovi o tome koliko je podzemna doista opasna među putnicima su skočili tijekom pandemije, kada se početkom 2020. povećala stopa kriminala. Iako se stopa kriminala vratila se na normalne razine 2021., percepcija o opasnosti ostala je visoka.

Gradonačelnik Eric Adams, demokrat i bivši kapetan gradske policije, pokušao je umiriti nervozne putnike povećanjem broja policajaca na stanicama podzemne željeznice.

Njujorška policija priopćila je da traga za naoružanim muškarcem koji je u ponedjeljak otvorio vatru u podzemnoj željeznici u gradskoj četvrti Bronx te ubio jednog čovjeka i ranio još pet osoba.

Pucnjava je odjeknula u vlaku koji je vozio prema sjeveru nakon što je izbila tučnjava između dvije skupine tinejdžera, rekli su dužnosnici njujorške policije (NYPD) tijekom konferencije za novinare ispred postaje gdje se dogodilo nasilje.

Netko iz jedne od grupa izvadio je pištolj. Prvi hitac ispaljen je unutar vlaka, ali svih šestero upucanih osoba bilo je na peronu izvan vlaka kada su ih pogodili meci, izvijestila je policija.

Poginuo je 34-godišnji muškarac, a pet osoba zadobilo je ozljede koje nisu opasne po život.

Žrtve su bile u dobi od 14 do 71 godine, a među njima su bila četiri muškarca i dvije žene.

NYPD je napadaču poručio da je sada najtraženija osoba koju "traže najbolji detektivi na svijetu" te mu predložio da se preda.

Kako bi ublažili strah putnika, policija i dužnosnici tranzitnog sustava na konferenciji za novinare naglasili su da je pucnjava rijetka u podzemnoj željeznici.

Podaci pokazuju da se u njujorškoj podzemnoj željeznici radnim danom prosječno obavi oko 3,8 milijuna putovanja, a bilo je samo 570 kaznenih djela napada u cijeloj 2023. godini.

Pucnjave su posebno neuobičajene. Tako se 2022. godine, kada je muškarac pištoljem ranio 10 ljudi u vlaku koji je prolazio kroz Brooklyn, dogodila prva masovna pucnjava u podzemnoj željeznici od 1984. godine.

Strahovi o tome koliko je podzemna doista opasna među putnicima su skočili tijekom pandemije, kada se početkom 2020. povećala stopa kriminala. Iako se stopa kriminala vratila se na normalne razine 2021., percepcija o opasnosti ostala je visoka.

Gradonačelnik Eric Adams, demokrat i bivši kapetan gradske policije, pokušao je umiriti nervozne putnike povećanjem broja policajaca na stanicama podzemne željeznice.

Njujorška policija priopćila je da traga za naoružanim muškarcem koji je u ponedjeljak otvorio vatru u podzemnoj željeznici u gradskoj četvrti Bronx te ubio jednog čovjeka i ranio još pet osoba.

Pucnjava je odjeknula u vlaku koji je vozio prema sjeveru nakon što je izbila tučnjava između dvije skupine tinejdžera, rekli su dužnosnici njujorške policije (NYPD) tijekom konferencije za novinare ispred postaje gdje se dogodilo nasilje.

Netko iz jedne od grupa izvadio je pištolj. Prvi hitac ispaljen je unutar vlaka, ali svih šestero upucanih osoba bilo je na peronu izvan vlaka kada su ih pogodili meci, izvijestila je policija.

Poginuo je 34-godišnji muškarac, a pet osoba zadobilo je ozljede koje nisu opasne po život.

Žrtve su bile u dobi od 14 do 71 godine, a među njima su bila četiri muškarca i dvije žene.

NYPD je napadaču poručio da je sada najtraženija osoba koju "traže najbolji detektivi na svijetu" te mu predložio da se preda.

Kako bi ublažili strah putnika, policija i dužnosnici tranzitnog sustava na konferenciji za novinare naglasili su da je pucnjava rijetka u podzemnoj željeznici.

Podaci pokazuju da se u njujorškoj podzemnoj željeznici radnim danom prosječno obavi oko 3,8 milijuna putovanja, a bilo je samo 570 kaznenih djela napada u cijeloj 2023. godini.

Pucnjave su posebno neuobičajene. Tako se 2022. godine, kada je muškarac pištoljem ranio 10 ljudi u vlaku koji je prolazio kroz Brooklyn, dogodila prva masovna pucnjava u podzemnoj željeznici od 1984. godine.
