Epicentar potresa nalazi se u sjevero-istočnom Nepalu, 68 kilometara zapadno od Namche Bazara, bazog kampa za uspon na Mount Everest, na dubini od 19 kilometara.

Zemlja se tresla punih 45 sekundi i nastala je velika panika. Građani su izašli na ulice gradova u potrazi za sigurnosti. Broj žrtava još uvijek nije poznat. Procjenjuje se kako će materijalna šteta ponovo biti velika.

Iako su prvotna mjerenja govorila kako se radi od jačini od 7,1 stupnjeva, detaljniji izračini pokazali su pravu jakost potresa od 7,4 stupnja prema Richteru.

- Ovo je jedan od većih - rekao je za Reuters Parkash Shilpakar, vlasnik dućana u Katmanduu.

Udari su se osjetili diljem cijele sjeverne Indije pa čak i u indijskom glavnom gradu New Delhiju. Zgrade su se njihale više od minute, a ljudi su predostrožnosti radi istrčali na ulice.

Nepalska vojska spasila je u ponedjeljak 117 ljudi iz triju zabačenih planinskih sela sjeverno od Katmandua, uključujući dvojicu američkih državljana koji su tražili nestalog rođaka, rekao je u utorak jedan vojni dužnosnik.

U tim selima dogodili su se veliki odroni tla i lavine izazvani prošlomjesečnim potresom. Poginule su stotine ljudi. Sela se nalaze oko 60 kilometara sjeverno od Katmandua, na popularnom području za treking.

Najmanje 8046 ljudi poginulo je, a više od 17.800 ozlijeđeno je u potresu magnitude 7,8 stupnjeva koji se dogodio 25. travnja.

Niz lavina i loše vrijeme otežavaju spašavanje ljudi koji su ostali odsječeni od svijeta.

Cijela dolina Langtang uništena je lavinama.

U selu Langtang pronađeno je do sada 128 tijela, a još 200 moglo bi biti zatrpano.

Zemlja se tresla punih 45 sekundi i nastala je velika panika. Građani su izašli na ulice gradova u potrazi za sigurnosti. Broj žrtava još uvijek nije poznat. Procjenjuje se kako će materijalna šteta ponovo biti velika.

Iako su prvotna mjerenja govorila kako se radi od jačini od 7,1 stupnjeva, detaljniji izračini pokazali su pravu jakost potresa od 7,4 stupnja prema Richteru.

- Ovo je jedan od većih - rekao je za Reuters Parkash Shilpakar, vlasnik dućana u Katmanduu.

Udari su se osjetili diljem cijele sjeverne Indije pa čak i u indijskom glavnom gradu New Delhiju. Zgrade su se njihale više od minute, a ljudi su predostrožnosti radi istrčali na ulice.

Nepalska vojska spasila je u ponedjeljak 117 ljudi iz triju zabačenih planinskih sela sjeverno od Katmandua, uključujući dvojicu američkih državljana koji su tražili nestalog rođaka, rekao je u utorak jedan vojni dužnosnik.

U tim selima dogodili su se veliki odroni tla i lavine izazvani prošlomjesečnim potresom. Poginule su stotine ljudi. Sela se nalaze oko 60 kilometara sjeverno od Katmandua, na popularnom području za treking.

Najmanje 8046 ljudi poginulo je, a više od 17.800 ozlijeđeno je u potresu magnitude 7,8 stupnjeva koji se dogodio 25. travnja.

Niz lavina i loše vrijeme otežavaju spašavanje ljudi koji su ostali odsječeni od svijeta.

Cijela dolina Langtang uništena je lavinama.

U selu Langtang pronađeno je do sada 128 tijela, a još 200 moglo bi biti zatrpano.
