Sjajne vijesti stižu nam iz Njemačke. Igor Matanović (19), napadač St. Paulija i njemačke U-19 reprezentacije, napokon je prelomio i odlučio da će igrati za - Hrvatsku! Riječ je o velikom talentu, centarforu visokom 194 cm, koji ima sve karakteristike modernog igrača, te su mnogi stručnjaci uvjereni da je pred njim blistava karijera. Matanović je još koncem ožujka predvodio napad njemačke U-19 selekcije, zabio je u kvalifikacijskoj utakmici za odlazak na Euro sjajan gol Talijanima, te protiv Belgije upisao asistenciju. Međutim, mjesec dana kasnije zahvalio se Nijemcima definitivno izabravši Hrvatsku, pišu Sportske novosti.

Naravno da Matanović nije samo tako prelomio, nego je pristao nakon duge i sinkronizirane akcije koju je - uz veliku podršku predsjednika HNS-a Marijana Kustića - predvodio Stipe Pletikosa. Mjesecima je tehnički direktor Vatrenih pripremao teren, obilazio mladog napadača i njegovu obitelj, da bi prije nekoliko dana postigao ono čemu smo se svi nadali. Napadač St. Paulija već bi na sljedećem okupljanju mladih selekcija trebao dobiti poziv izbornika U-21 reprezentacije Igora Bišćana, koji je davno naznačio da je Matanović sjajan talent kojeg svakako vidi među svojim izabranicima.

Matanović je veliku pozornost prvi put privukao još prije dvije godine, kada je kao 17-godišnjak debitirao za seniorsku momčad St. Paulija u utakmici protiv Werdera (4:2) u kojoj je odmah postigao pogodak, te ostao upisan kao najmlađi strijelac u povijesti kluba. Trener Timo Schultz ga je najavio kao vrhunskog napadačkog talenta i sjajnu budućnost kluba. Premda je tek nedavno napunio 19 godina (rođen je 31. ožujka 2003.), Matanović je već upisao 33 utakmice za St. Pauli. Nije, doduše, uspijevao zabiti nakon tog pogotka u debiju jer u glavnini tih utakmica ulazio je tek u završnim minutama, ali malo je igrača koji sa 17 i 18 godina igraju Bundesligu 2. Naravno da ga je kao mladog igrača u dolasku posebno bila poremetila pandemija.

Matanović je zapravo igrač Eintrachta, koji ga je ljetos kupio za 500.000 eura, ali i odlučio sljedeće dvije sezone ostaviti na posudbi u St. Pauliju. Sportski direktor Eintrachta Markus Krösche ovako je opisao hrvatskog napadača:

”Igor je vrlo talentiran igrač, koji je tehnički nadaren i fizički jak. Ima veliki talent i veliki potencijal. Za njegov razvoj važno je da što više igra. Držimo da je najbolja odluka ostaviti ga u matičnom klubu na posudbi jer ne samo da će moći pomoći ambicioznom drugoligašu, već će i napraviti važne korake u svom razvoju ove i sljedeće sezone.”

St. Pauli je ipak klub koji se žestoko bori za ulazak u Bundesligu, u ovom trenutku je četvrti na ljestvici, s tim da mu drugo mjesto bježi tri boda, a treće tek jedan. Drugo izravno vodi u Bundesligu, a treće u razigravanje. Koliko god Timo Schultz hvalio Matanovića, ulogu prvog centarfora ima iskusni Guido Burgstaller (32), koji je u ovoj sezoni već upisao 18 prvenstvenih golova uz 7 asistencija, te je treći strijelac lige. Druga Bundesliga je iznimno teška i tvrda, te se mladim igračima u njoj jako teško probiti.

Matanović je, dakle, iznimno visok, ali i brz igrač, odlične tehnike. Odličan je dribler, zabija s obje noge, jak je u igri glavom. U debiju za U-19 reprezentaciju Njemačke odmah je pokazao svu raskoš svog talenta. Talijanima je zabio gol nakon solo-akcije u kojoj se s desne strane sjurio na suparnički gol, driblingom prošao prvog igrača, potom prevario drugog, da bi slabijom lijevom nogom iz teške pozicije postigao krasan gol. Matanović je već sad kompletan igrač, te se samo čeka njegova golgeterska eksplozija.

Matanovićeva obitelj je u Njemačku stigla iz Kotor Varoša pokraj Banja Luke. Zanimljivo, od tamo su i roditelji Matea Kovačića. Igor je već kao dijete zaigrao za St. Pauli u kojem je prošao sve selekcije. Veliki talent iskazivao je kao 16-godišnjak, koji je za U-17 momčad u 27 utakmica zabio 19 golova, uz sedam asistencija.

Kako Hrvatska godinama u dijaspori pomno prati igrače naših korijena, tako je Igor igrao za našu U-14 selekciju, da bi nakon toga bio dio njemačkih mladih reprezentacija, od U-17 do U-19. U osam nastupa za te selekcije postigao je pet golova. Imao bi ih i više da ga nisu mučile ozljede.

Njemački nogometni savez sigurno neće biti sretan zbog toga što je Igor Matanović izabrao Hrvatsku jer i Njemačka oskudijeva s pravim centarforima.

”Članovi moje obitelji bili su izbjegli za vrijeme rata u Krapinske Toplice, dakle, kada nam je bilo najteže, Hrvatska im je pružila utočište i to se ne zaboravlja. Međutim, ja sam još krajem 80-ih došao u Njemačku, zaposlio se, tako da su mi obje zemlje puno toga dale” objašnjavao je prije dvije godine Igorov otac Ranko Matanović.

Na kraju je ipak prevagnula ljubav prema Hrvatskoj, što je fantastična stvar za nas, a vjerujemo da će biti i za Igora. Centarfori su uvijek najtraženiji igrači na tržištu, a Igor Matanović ima sve karakteristike napadača kakvi su danas posebno na cijeni. Iznimno visok, motoričan, brz, sjajan tehničar... I zna zabiti gol iz svake pozicije.

Sjajne vijesti stižu nam iz Njemačke. Igor Matanović (19), napadač St. Paulija i njemačke U-19 reprezentacije, napokon je prelomio i odlučio da će igrati za - Hrvatsku! Riječ je o velikom talentu, centarforu visokom 194 cm, koji ima sve karakteristike modernog igrača, te su mnogi stručnjaci uvjereni da je pred njim blistava karijera. Međutim, mjesec dana kasnije zahvalio se Nijemcima definitivno izabravši Hrvatsku, pišu Sportske novosti.

Naravno da Matanović nije samo tako prelomio, nego je pristao nakon duge i sinkronizirane akcije koju je - uz veliku podršku predsjednika HNS-a Marijana Kustića - predvodio Stipe Pletikosa. Mjesecima je tehnički direktor Vatrenih pripremao teren, obilazio mladog napadača i njegovu obitelj, da bi prije nekoliko dana postigao ono čemu smo se svi nadali. Napadač St. Paulija već bi na sljedećem okupljanju mladih selekcija trebao dobiti poziv izbornika U-21 reprezentacije Igora Bišćana, koji je davno naznačio da je Matanović sjajan talent kojeg svakako vidi među svojim izabranicima.

Matanović je veliku pozornost prvi put privukao još prije dvije godine, kada je kao 17-godišnjak debitirao za seniorsku momčad St. Paulija u utakmici protiv Werdera (4:2) u kojoj je odmah postigao pogodak, te ostao upisan kao najmlađi strijelac u povijesti kluba. Trener Timo Schultz ga je najavio kao vrhunskog napadačkog talenta i sjajnu budućnost kluba. Premda je tek nedavno napunio 19 godina (rođen je 31. ožujka 2003.), Matanović je već upisao 33 utakmice za St. Pauli. Nije, doduše, uspijevao zabiti nakon tog pogotka u debiju jer u glavnini tih utakmica ulazio je tek u završnim minutama, ali malo je igrača koji sa 17 i 18 godina igraju Bundesligu 2. Naravno da ga je kao mladog igrača u dolasku posebno bila poremetila pandemija.

Matanović je zapravo igrač Eintrachta, koji ga je ljetos kupio za 500.000 eura, ali i odlučio sljedeće dvije sezone ostaviti na posudbi u St. Pauliju. Sportski direktor Eintrachta Markus Krösche ovako je opisao hrvatskog napadača:

”Igor je vrlo talentiran igrač, koji je tehnički nadaren i fizički jak. Ima veliki talent i veliki potencijal. Za njegov razvoj važno je da što više igra. Držimo da je najbolja odluka ostaviti ga u matičnom klubu na posudbi jer ne samo da će moći pomoći ambicioznom drugoligašu, već će i napraviti važne korake u svom razvoju ove i sljedeće sezone.”

St. Pauli je ipak klub koji se žestoko bori za ulazak u Bundesligu, u ovom trenutku je četvrti na ljestvici, s tim da mu drugo mjesto bježi tri boda, a treće tek jedan. Drugo izravno vodi u Bundesligu, a treće u razigravanje. Koliko god Timo Schultz hvalio Matanovića, ulogu prvog centarfora ima iskusni Guido Burgstaller (32), koji je u ovoj sezoni već upisao 18 prvenstvenih golova uz 7 asistencija, te je treći strijelac lige. Druga Bundesliga je iznimno teška i tvrda, te se mladim igračima u njoj jako teško probiti.

Matanović je, dakle, iznimno visok, ali i brz igrač, odlične tehnike. Odličan je dribler, zabija s obje noge, jak je u igri glavom. U debiju za U-19 reprezentaciju Njemačke odmah je pokazao svu raskoš svog talenta. Talijanima je zabio gol nakon solo-akcije u kojoj se s desne strane sjurio na suparnički gol, driblingom prošao prvog igrača, potom prevario drugog, da bi slabijom lijevom nogom iz teške pozicije postigao krasan gol. Matanović je već sad kompletan igrač, te se samo čeka njegova golgeterska eksplozija.

Matanovićeva obitelj je u Njemačku stigla iz Kotor Varoša pokraj Banja Luke. Zanimljivo, od tamo su i roditelji Matea Kovačića. Igor je već kao dijete zaigrao za St. Pauli u kojem je prošao sve selekcije. Veliki talent iskazivao je kao 16-godišnjak, koji je za U-17 momčad u 27 utakmica zabio 19 golova, uz sedam asistencija.

Kako Hrvatska godinama u dijaspori pomno prati igrače naših korijena, tako je Igor igrao za našu U-14 selekciju, da bi nakon toga bio dio njemačkih mladih reprezentacija, od U-17 do U-19. U osam nastupa za te selekcije postigao je pet golova. Imao bi ih i više da ga nisu mučile ozljede.

Njemački nogometni savez sigurno neće biti sretan zbog toga što je Igor Matanović izabrao Hrvatsku jer i Njemačka oskudijeva s pravim centarforima.

”Članovi moje obitelji bili su izbjegli za vrijeme rata u Krapinske Toplice, dakle, kada nam je bilo najteže, Hrvatska im je pružila utočište i to se ne zaboravlja. Međutim, ja sam još krajem 80-ih došao u Njemačku, zaposlio se, tako da su mi obje zemlje puno toga dale” objašnjavao je prije dvije godine Igorov otac Ranko Matanović.

Na kraju je ipak prevagnula ljubav prema Hrvatskoj, što je fantastična stvar za nas, a vjerujemo da će biti i za Igora. Centarfori su uvijek najtraženiji igrači na tržištu, a Igor Matanović ima sve karakteristike napadača kakvi su danas posebno na cijeni. Iznimno visok, motoričan, brz, sjajan tehničar... I zna zabiti gol iz svake pozicije.

Sjajne vijesti stižu nam iz Njemačke. Igor Matanović (19), napadač St. Paulija i njemačke U-19 reprezentacije, napokon je prelomio i odlučio da će igrati za - Hrvatsku! Riječ je o velikom talentu, centarforu visokom 194 cm, koji ima sve karakteristike modernog igrača, te su mnogi stručnjaci uvjereni da je pred njim blistava karijera. Matanović je još koncem ožujka predvodio napad njemačke U-19 selekcije, zabio je u kvalifikacijskoj utakmici za odlazak na Euro sjajan gol Talijanima, te protiv Belgije upisao asistenciju. Međutim, mjesec dana kasnije zahvalio se Nijemcima definitivno izabravši Hrvatsku, pišu Sportske novosti.
