Meštar od krnjevala Duško Mucalo priporuča:
- Potrudite se par dana. Sašijte robu. Tema ima koliko god oćete. I Mr. Bean se dobro namučija da bi se mi mogli smijat. Bija bi presretan kad bi se u grad spustilo 10 iljada ljudi sa škartocom na glavi s otvorima za nos, oči i usta, nego da ih dođe 50 iljada, a da nisu obučeni. Nije bitna ni šentenca ni krnje, nego je bitno da ljudi u utorak 16. dođu i da se opuste i zabave. Doć će i maškare sa Brača, Hvara, iz Dalmatinske zagore, Rijeke i nešto internacionalnih gostiju.

Kako ste postali meštar od tih stvari?
- Zvali su me iz Grada i pitali: bi li vi bili meštar od karnevala? Zašto ne, to mi je čast i drago mi je, odgovorio sam... Vjerojatno je to posljedica mojih 26 godina nastupanja na Splitskom festivalu, raznih vođenja, pjevanja... Jedan mot je napravljen da me se percipiralo kao osobu koja bi to mogla biti.
Čuju se komentari da zašto je Grad preuzeo organizaciju, a ne udruge?
- Kad su udruge i bile, opet im je Grad dao lovu. Ne znači da, ako je Grad dao lovu, nećemo nikoga napadat. Gradonačelnik Željko Kerum mi je reka kako će se obuć i na šta iz Banovine idu, ali ne smim otkrit tajnu. I nemojte mislit da će proć lišo.
Krnjevala nam ne fali ovih miseci. Ima svega po novinama. Kako konkurirat?
- Istina je. Od pustih medija ne može se više ništa sakrit, bombardiraju nas svačim. I sad u ovoj šentenci, ka osudi krnji, ništa se gore ne može izmislit. Mi jedino možemo te informacije na jedan duhovit način prilagodit. Karneval nije više kao nekad kad čekaš da neko nešto kaže jer se već miljun puta u lice kazalo nekome preko novina i elektronskih glasila, ali zato postoji nešto drugo. Danas, kad živimo zaista stresno u ovom kapitalizmu, smatram da je tih par dana prilika, a naročito tu večer 16. veljače, da se opustimo i budemo zaista ‘relax’. Kad, recimo, stavi škartoc, njega nitko više ne prepoznaje i može biti ono što inače nije, može svašta govorit, zafrkavat, ludirat se bez srama. To je bit ovovremenskih maškara. Tako je neke 1920. policija davala iskaznice za maškare. Ta su vremena, fala Bogu, daleko iza nas.
Gradonačelnik ima savjetnike. Hoćete li ih imati i vi?
- Ja ću imati tajnicu za ‘public relations’. To će bit iznenađenje. Na pjaci će u utorak u podne, kod primopredaje ključa Grada, bit zafrkancije, bubnjanja, malo će se i zapivat. Kerum će mi predat ključe, on će od mene dobit jedan dar. Dignit će se krnjevalska zastava, a onda će sljedećih sedam dana maškare vladat u Splitu. Za to vrime ćemo pokušat napravit sve što oni nisu uspili do sada.
Oće li oni u Vilu Dalmaciju imat škartoce na glavi?
- To ne znam. Dođite pa ćete vidit.
A vremenska prognoza?
- Boga molimo da bude lipo vrime.
Otkad maškare mole Boga?
- Moramo molit zbog dice. Matere znaju obuć dicu u balerine i kratke rukave. Ako im obuču kaput, ne vidi se više kostim, pa dica nezadovoljna plaču. Triba se dobro fudrat. Ako bude zima, mi muški ćemo se stisnit uz neku curu. Važno je pripoznat žensku maškaru. Ko će uz muškoga, ili ženska uz žensku, može i to, jer se u maškarama sve može.

Meštar od krnjevala Duško Mucalo priporuča:
- Potrudite se par dana. Sašijte robu. Tema ima koliko god oćete. I Mr. Bean se dobro namučija da bi se mi mogli smijat. Bija bi presretan kad bi se u grad spustilo 10 iljada ljudi sa škartocom na glavi s otvorima za nos, oči i usta, nego da ih dođe 50 iljada, a da nisu obučeni. Nije bitna ni šentenca ni krnje, nego je bitno da ljudi u utorak 16. dođu i da se opuste i zabave. Doć će i maškare sa Brača, Hvara, iz Dalmatinske zagore, Rijeke i nešto internacionalnih gostiju.

Kako ste postali meštar od tih stvari?
- Zvali su me iz Grada i pitali: bi li vi bili meštar od karnevala? Zašto ne, to mi je čast i drago mi je, odgovorio sam... Vjerojatno je to posljedica mojih 26 godina nastupanja na Splitskom festivalu, raznih vođenja, pjevanja... Jedan mot je napravljen da me se percipiralo kao osobu koja bi to mogla biti.
Čuju se komentari da zašto je Grad preuzeo organizaciju, a ne udruge?
- Kad su udruge i bile, opet im je Grad dao lovu. Ne znači da, ako je Grad dao lovu, nećemo nikoga napadat. Gradonačelnik Željko Kerum mi je reka kako će se obuć i na šta iz Banovine idu, ali ne smim otkrit tajnu. I nemojte mislit da će proć lišo.
Krnjevala nam ne fali ovih miseci. Ima svega po novinama. Kako konkurirat?
- Istina je. Od pustih medija ne može se više ništa sakrit, bombardiraju nas svačim. I sad u ovoj šentenci, ka osudi krnji, ništa se gore ne može izmislit. Mi jedino možemo te informacije na jedan duhovit način prilagodit. Karneval nije više kao nekad kad čekaš da neko nešto kaže jer se već miljun puta u lice kazalo nekome preko novina i elektronskih glasila, ali zato postoji nešto drugo. Danas, kad živimo zaista stresno u ovom kapitalizmu, smatram da je tih par dana prilika, a naročito tu večer 16. veljače, da se opustimo i budemo zaista ‘relax’. Kad, recimo, stavi škartoc, njega nitko više ne prepoznaje i može biti ono što inače nije, može svašta govorit, zafrkavat, ludirat se bez srama. To je bit ovovremenskih maškara. Tako je neke 1920. policija davala iskaznice za maškare. Ta su vremena, fala Bogu, daleko iza nas.
Gradonačelnik ima savjetnike. Hoćete li ih imati i vi?
- Ja ću imati tajnicu za ‘public relations’. To će bit iznenađenje. Na pjaci će u utorak u podne, kod primopredaje ključa Grada, bit zafrkancije, bubnjanja, malo će se i zapivat. Kerum će mi predat ključe, on će od mene dobit jedan dar. Dignit će se krnjevalska zastava, a onda će sljedećih sedam dana maškare vladat u Splitu. Za to vrime ćemo pokušat napravit sve što oni nisu uspili do sada.
Oće li oni u Vilu Dalmaciju imat škartoce na glavi?
- To ne znam. Dođite pa ćete vidit.
A vremenska prognoza?
- Boga molimo da bude lipo vrime.
Otkad maškare mole Boga?
- Moramo molit zbog dice. Matere znaju obuć dicu u balerine i kratke rukave. Ako im obuču kaput, ne vidi se više kostim, pa dica nezadovoljna plaču. Triba se dobro fudrat. Ako bude zima, mi muški ćemo se stisnit uz neku curu. Važno je pripoznat žensku maškaru. Ko će uz muškoga, ili ženska uz žensku, može i to, jer se u maškarama sve može.
