Split je grad koji i danas, skoro dva i pol stoljeća otkad je Alberto Fortis 1774. objavio knjigu “Viaggio in Dalmazia”, koja se, uvjetno govoreći, smatra prvim ili jednim od prvih onovremenih putopisa kroz ovu “nepoznatu” zemlju na rubu carstava, traži svoj turistički identitet.

Dakako, i nakon Fortisa, a i danas, Split i Dalmacija predmet su različitih interpretacija iz kojih putnici nastoje razaznati što im je u Splitu činiti jednom kad se u njemu nađu. Internet je stvari bitno promijenio pa se slike drugog najvećeg grada u Hrvatskoj značajno razlikuju jedna od druge, ovisno od prioriteta putopisaca.

U samo nekoliko dana tako se Split našao opisan u dva moćna medija. Prvi je britanski “i”, inače dio moćnog koncerna DMG Media, u kojem su, primjerice, i Daily Mail, MailOnline, The Mail on Sunday, Metro..., a drugi je američki New York Times, kojeg nigdje na kugli zemaljskoj ne treba posebno predstavljati.

Iz opisa je jasno i kakvoj publici se koji medij obraća – prvi posve ozbiljno prenosi najnovije odluke gradske vlasti da stane na kraj hordama pijanih i drogiranih britanskih turista, a drugi tu odluku niti ne spominje.

Prvi jasno daje do znanja partijanerima što ih čeka budu li po Splitu hodali goli, budu li rigali, pišali, drečali i općenito se ponašali huliganski. “I” prenosi i izjavu dogradonačelnika Bojana Ivoševića koji je kazao da “želimo rebrendirati Split, želimo promijeniti vrstu gostiju koji dolaze u naš grad, želimo sići s liste vrlo poželjnih party destinacija i početi privlačiti obitelji ili pojedince koji uživaju u našem gradu, uživaju u ljepoti mora i koji neće samo ludovati u Splitu”.

Britanski medij zacijelo ne može zamisliti da je Hrvatska zemlja u kojoj zakoni i njihova provedba ne idu nužno ruku pod ruku i da činjenica da je 13 britanskih partijanera već oderano kaznama ne znači da će svi ili makar većina izgrednika proći jednako.

The New York Times pak prenosi sliku Splita koju bi i najmrzovoljniji Splićanin poželio 365, a ne samo tri dana u godini, koliko je njihov Alex Crevar sugerirao svojim čitateljima. Crevar je objavio kako se “u Split lako zaljubiti”, a ono u što se on zaljubio blage veze nema s onim što privlači bjelosvjetske partijanere.

Ne samo da je naznačio kako Split nije samo “muzejski primjerak”, već “spoj chic primorskog grada na Jadranu, aktivnog arheološkog nalazišta i ponosnog lučkog grada”, nego spominje i duge ručkove uz plodove mora, tradiciju i običaje koji pokreću grad i njegove ljude, a preporučuje i odlazak u Galeriju umjetnina i Galeriju Meštrović te prenosi izjavu splitskoga gradonačelnika Ivice Puljka koji je kazao da je “naš glavni cilj da Split ostane živo središte za naše građane”.

E sad, negdje između ovih dviju krajnosti, grada u kojem kao da se iz ljeta u ljeto slijevaju mase pijandura i grada u koji se zaljubio reporter The New York Timesa, teče splitska realnost, popločana dobrim željama.

Svi mi, naime, umorni smo od prvih i gotovo nesvjesni onih drugih gostiju. Nažalost, i sami smo često nedorasli svojoj slici iz New York Timesa. Uostalom, kad je tko vidio bilo kojeg, pa i aktualnog, gradonačelnika i njegova zamjenika na otvorenju neke izložbe u Splitu?•

Split je grad koji i danas, skoro dva i pol stoljeća otkad je Alberto Fortis 1774. objavio knjigu “Viaggio in Dalmazia”, koja se, uvjetno govoreći, smatra prvim ili jednim od prvih onovremenih putopisa kroz ovu “nepoznatu” zemlju na rubu carstava, traži svoj turistički identitet.

Dakako, i nakon Fortisa, a i danas, Split i Dalmacija predmet su različitih interpretacija iz kojih putnici nastoje razaznati što im je u Splitu činiti jednom kad se u njemu nađu. Internet je stvari bitno promijenio pa se slike drugog najvećeg grada u Hrvatskoj značajno razlikuju jedna od druge, ovisno od prioriteta putopisaca.

U samo nekoliko dana tako se Split našao opisan u dva moćna medija. Prvi je britanski “i”, inače dio moćnog koncerna DMG Media, u kojem su, primjerice, i Daily Mail, MailOnline, The Mail on Sunday, Metro..., a drugi je američki New York Times, kojeg nigdje na kugli zemaljskoj ne treba posebno predstavljati.

Iz opisa je jasno i kakvoj publici se koji medij obraća – prvi posve ozbiljno prenosi najnovije odluke gradske vlasti da stane na kraj hordama pijanih i drogiranih britanskih turista, a drugi tu odluku niti ne spominje.

Prvi jasno daje do znanja partijanerima što ih čeka budu li po Splitu hodali goli, budu li rigali, pišali, drečali i općenito se ponašali huliganski. “I” prenosi i izjavu dogradonačelnika Bojana Ivoševića koji je kazao da “želimo rebrendirati Split, želimo promijeniti vrstu gostiju koji dolaze u naš grad, želimo sići s liste vrlo poželjnih party destinacija i početi privlačiti obitelji ili pojedince koji uživaju u našem gradu, uživaju u ljepoti mora i koji neće samo ludovati u Splitu”.

Britanski medij zacijelo ne može zamisliti da je Hrvatska zemlja u kojoj zakoni i njihova provedba ne idu nužno ruku pod ruku i da činjenica da je 13 britanskih partijanera već oderano kaznama ne znači da će svi ili makar većina izgrednika proći jednako.

The New York Times pak prenosi sliku Splita koju bi i najmrzovoljniji Splićanin poželio 365, a ne samo tri dana u godini, koliko je njihov Alex Crevar sugerirao svojim čitateljima. Crevar je objavio kako se “u Split lako zaljubiti”, a ono u što se on zaljubio blage veze nema s onim što privlači bjelosvjetske partijanere.

Ne samo da je naznačio kako Split nije samo “muzejski primjerak”, već “spoj chic primorskog grada na Jadranu, aktivnog arheološkog nalazišta i ponosnog lučkog grada”, nego spominje i duge ručkove uz plodove mora, tradiciju i običaje koji pokreću grad i njegove ljude, a preporučuje i odlazak u Galeriju umjetnina i Galeriju Meštrović te prenosi izjavu splitskoga gradonačelnika Ivice Puljka koji je kazao da je “naš glavni cilj da Split ostane živo središte za naše građane”.

E sad, negdje između ovih dviju krajnosti, grada u kojem kao da se iz ljeta u ljeto slijevaju mase pijandura i grada u koji se zaljubio reporter The New York Timesa, teče splitska realnost, popločana dobrim željama.
