Zastupnici u britanskom parlamentu izglasali su u srijedu navečer povjerenje konzervativnoj premijerki Theresi May, unatoč tome što je dan ranije njezin plan za brexit pretrpio povijesni poraz.
Za ostanak May glasala su 325, a protiv nje 306 zastupnika.
Oporbeni laburistički čelnik Jeremy Corbin podnio je zahtjev za izglasavanje nepovjerenja vladi nakon što je parlament u utorak navečer odbacio sporazum sa 432 glasa protiv i 202 za, što je najteži poraz neke vlade u povijesti.
Bilo je malo vjerojatno, međutim, da će njegov zahtjev uspjeti. Konzervativna sjevernoirska unionistička stranka DUP, koja podržava manjinsku vladu Therese May, nije glasala za plan za brexit, ali svejedno nema nikakvu želju da na vlast zasjednu laburisti.
Već u utorak navečer čelnici DUP-a najavili su da će podržati vladu, a jednako je razmišljala i većina 'otpadnika' Konzervativne stranke koji su na pitanju plana za brexit glasali protiv premijerke.
"Živimo u povijesnom trenutku u našoj nacionalnoj povijesti nakon referenduma koji je podijelio našu naciju na pola. Moramo svojoj zemlji vratiti cjelinu, a glasanje prošle noći pokazuje da trebamo savladati dug put", rekla je May parlamentu uoči glasanja.
"Međutim ne vjerujem da su opći izbori taj put, niti vjerujem da je taj put vlada pod vodstvom Jeremyja Corbyna", istaknula je May.
Govoreći prije premijerke, Corbyn je kazao je da vlada koja ne može progurati svoj zakon u parlamentu mora zatražiti od zemlje novi mandat.
May sada ima rok do ponedjeljka da parlamentu predstavi "plan B". Na raspolaganju ima nekoliko opcija, od brexita bez dogovora do odgode datuma britanskog izlaska iz Unije.
Bivši britanski ministar vanjskih poslova Boris Johnson kazao je da rezultat sinoćnjeg glasanja u parlamentu Theresi May daje "golem mandat" da se vrati u Bruxelles i ponovo pregovara o sporazumu.
U Bruxellesu, međutim, teško da će za to imati previše sluha.
Zastupnici su uvjerljivom su većinom u utorak navečer odbacili plan za brexit premijerke May, izazvavši političku neizvjesnot koja bi mogla dovesti do neuređenog izlaska iz EU-a, pa čak i do povlačenja referendumske odluke iz 2016. o izlasku iz Unije.
I dok sat neumoljivo otkucava do 29. ožujka, datuma brexita, Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo u najvećoj je političkoj krizi u posljednjih pola stoljeća i muči se oko toga kako, i da li uopće, napustiti europski projekt kojem se priključilo 1973.
Više od 100 premijerkinih konzervativaca, i onih koji su za brexit i onih koji su za ostanak u EU-u, glasali su protiv sporazuma, nanijevši vladi jedan od najtežih parlamentarnih poraza u nedavnoj povijesti.
Ponižavajući poraz premijerke znači potpuni krah njezine dvogodišnje strategije da pokuša ishoditi prijateljski razvod uz zadržavanje bliskih veza s Unijom nakon što Britanija 29. ožujka napusti EU.

Zastupnici u britanskom parlamentu izglasali su u srijedu navečer povjerenje konzervativnoj premijerki Theresi May, unatoč tome što je dan ranije njezin plan za brexit pretrpio povijesni poraz.
Za ostanak May glasala su 325, a protiv nje 306 zastupnika.
Oporbeni laburistički čelnik Jeremy Corbin podnio je zahtjev za izglasavanje nepovjerenja vladi nakon što je parlament u utorak navečer odbacio sporazum sa 432 glasa protiv i 202 za, što je najteži poraz neke vlade u povijesti.
Bilo je malo vjerojatno, međutim, da će njegov zahtjev uspjeti. Konzervativna sjevernoirska unionistička stranka DUP, koja podržava manjinsku vladu Therese May, nije glasala za plan za brexit, ali svejedno nema nikakvu želju da na vlast zasjednu laburisti.
Već u utorak navečer čelnici DUP-a najavili su da će podržati vladu, a jednako je razmišljala i većina 'otpadnika' Konzervativne stranke koji su na pitanju plana za brexit glasali protiv premijerke.
"Živimo u povijesnom trenutku u našoj nacionalnoj povijesti nakon referenduma koji je podijelio našu naciju na pola. Moramo svojoj zemlji vratiti cjelinu, a glasanje prošle noći pokazuje da trebamo savladati dug put", rekla je May parlamentu uoči glasanja.
"Međutim ne vjerujem da su opći izbori taj put, niti vjerujem da je taj put vlada pod vodstvom Jeremyja Corbyna", istaknula je May.
Govoreći prije premijerke, Corbyn je kazao je da vlada koja ne može progurati svoj zakon u parlamentu mora zatražiti od zemlje novi mandat.
May sada ima rok do ponedjeljka da parlamentu predstavi "plan B". Na raspolaganju ima nekoliko opcija, od brexita bez dogovora do odgode datuma britanskog izlaska iz Unije.
Bivši britanski ministar vanjskih poslova Boris Johnson kazao je da rezultat sinoćnjeg glasanja u parlamentu Theresi May daje "golem mandat" da se vrati u Bruxelles i ponovo pregovara o sporazumu.
U Bruxellesu, međutim, teško da će za to imati previše sluha.
Zastupnici su uvjerljivom su većinom u utorak navečer odbacili plan za brexit premijerke May, izazvavši političku neizvjesnot koja bi mogla dovesti do neuređenog izlaska iz EU-a, pa čak i do povlačenja referendumske odluke iz 2016. o izlasku iz Unije.
I dok sat neumoljivo otkucava do 29. ožujka, datuma brexita, Ujedinjeno Kraljevstvo u najvećoj je političkoj krizi u posljednjih pola stoljeća i muči se oko toga kako, i da li uopće, napustiti europski projekt kojem se priključilo 1973.
Više od 100 premijerkinih konzervativaca, i onih koji su za brexit i onih koji su za ostanak u EU-u, glasali su protiv sporazuma, nanijevši vladi jedan od najtežih parlamentarnih poraza u nedavnoj povijesti.
Ponižavajući poraz premijerke znači potpuni krah njezine dvogodišnje strategije da pokuša ishoditi prijateljski razvod uz zadržavanje bliskih veza s Unijom nakon što Britanija 29. ožujka napusti EU.
