na ljetnim vrućinama mnoge se namirnice brže kvare, a takav je slučaj i s maslacem. Ako vam je pri ruci paketić maslaca koji je počeo čudno mirisati, vjerojatno ste u iskušenju baciti ga. Možda vas također muči razmišljanje u stilu "šteta bacit" pa se pitate da li ga se ipak nekako spasiti. Odgovor je potvrdan. Možete ga i dalje korisiti, samo ne sirovog.

Ako kiselkasti je miris jedini problem, slobodno ga ubacite u kolače koje treba peći, no ako mu je okus poprimio neugodan, užegao ton, to možda i nije tako dobra ideja. Srećom, postoji još jedno rješenje. Otopite ga i pustite ga da neko vrijeme kuha. Dobit ćete ghee, barem uvjetno rečeno,jer za ghee se koristi "dobar" maslac.

Međutim, ako vam se maslac nije baš užegao nego je tek počeo davati naznake da bi mu se to uskoro moglo dogoditi, ako ga na odgovarajući način zagrijete, moći ćete ga koristiti na puno načina na koje se inače koristi ghee - prvenstvenop za kuhanje i začinjanje hrane. Da, začinjanje jer okus će mu nakon ovog malog tretmana postati vrlo ugodan s orašastim notama. Stavite li ga malo na tek skuhanu rižu ili tjesteninu, dat će im jako finu aromu koja nema nikakve veze s neugodnim mirisom maslaca koji je "u kraju". Otprilike u to vrijeme također biste trebali početi primjećivati ​​čvrsti talog mlijeka koji se lijepi za dno lonca. Kad talog jako potamni, a otopljeni maslac počne mirisati orašasto i ugodno poput maslaca na kojem pečete palačinke, isključite vatru i ostavite ga da se ohladi nekoliko minuta, a zatim ga kroz finije cjedilo procijedite u staklenu posudu.
