Američki nosač aviona Kitty Hawk, porinut 1961. godine, koji je prošao rat u Vijetnamu i Zaljevski rat te godinama krstario Pacifikom, prodan je za jedan dolar. Odlazi u Teksas, gdje će poslužiti kao golem izvor starog željeza. Takva je sudbina zastarjele vojne opreme, piše Revija HAK. 

Ovaj nosač zrakoplova, pokretan parnim turbinama, izbačen je iz službe 2009. godine jer su ga zamijenili nosači na nuklearni pogon.

Inače, tijekom svoje posljednje misije u Vijetnamu 1972. godine Kitty Hawk je bio poprište nevjerojatnog sukoba u kojem su se potukli afroamerički članove posade s bijelcima i u kojem je ozlijeđeno 47 mornara. Cijeli je obračun navodno krenuo iz kantine u kojoj jednom tamnoputom mornaru nisu htjeli poslužiti sendvič, dok ga je njegov bijeli kolega dobio.

Kitty Hawk je poznat i po sudaru sa sovjetskom podmornicom tijekom Hladnog rata 1984. godine, kad se u luku vratio s dijelom podmornice zaglavljenim u svom trupu. Kontakt sa suparničkim plovilom za sobom je ostavio i trag polimera koji su podmornici omogućavali nevidljivost. 

S 319 m dužine i 77 m širine Kitty Hawk je prevelik za plovidbu Panamskim kanalom pa će do Teksasa morati ploviti oko Južne Amerike, navodi HAK.

Američki nosač aviona Kitty Hawk, porinut 1961. godine, koji je prošao rat u Vijetnamu i Zaljevski rat te godinama krstario Pacifikom, prodan je za jedan dolar. Odlazi u Teksas, gdje će poslužiti kao golem izvor starog željeza. Takva je sudbina zastarjele vojne opreme, piše Revija HAK. 

Ovaj nosač zrakoplova, pokretan parnim turbinama, izbačen je iz službe 2009. godine jer su ga zamijenili nosači na nuklearni pogon.

Inače, tijekom svoje posljednje misije u Vijetnamu 1972. godine Kitty Hawk je bio poprište nevjerojatnog sukoba u kojem su se potukli afroamerički članove posade s bijelcima i u kojem je ozlijeđeno 47 mornara. Cijeli je obračun navodno krenuo iz kantine u kojoj jednom tamnoputom mornaru nisu htjeli poslužiti sendvič, dok ga je njegov bijeli kolega dobio.

Kitty Hawk je poznat i po sudaru sa sovjetskom podmornicom tijekom Hladnog rata 1984. godine, kad se u luku vratio s dijelom podmornice zaglavljenim u svom trupu. Kontakt sa suparničkim plovilom za sobom je ostavio i trag polimera koji su podmornici omogućavali nevidljivost. 

S 319 m dužine i 77 m širine Kitty Hawk je prevelik za plovidbu Panamskim kanalom pa će do Teksasa morati ploviti oko Južne Amerike, navodi HAK.

Legendarni američki nosač aviona prodan za jedan dolar: ‘Kitty Hawk‘ prebrodio je ratove i oceane, a sad je na putu za staro željezo

Američki nosač aviona Kitty Hawk, porinut 1961. godine, koji je prošao rat u Vijetnamu i Zaljevski rat te godinama krstario Pacifikom, prodan je za jedan dolar. Odlazi u Teksas, gdje će poslužiti kao golem izvor starog željeza. Takva je sudbina zastarjele vojne opreme, piše Revija HAK. 

Ovaj nosač zrakoplova, pokretan parnim turbinama, izbačen je iz službe 2009. godine jer su ga zamijenili nosači na nuklearni pogon.

Inače, tijekom svoje posljednje misije u Vijetnamu 1972. godine Kitty Hawk je bio poprište nevjerojatnog sukoba u kojem su se potukli afroamerički članove posade s bijelcima i u kojem je ozlijeđeno 47 mornara. Cijeli je obračun navodno krenuo iz kantine u kojoj jednom tamnoputom mornaru nisu htjeli poslužiti sendvič, dok ga je njegov bijeli kolega dobio....
