Europska unija trebat će uspostaviti odnos s talibanima ali neće žuriti formalno priznati tu islamističku skupinu za nove čelnike Afganistana, rekao je u srijedu visoki europski dužnosnik.

Gunnar Wiegand, direktor EK za Aziju i Pacifik, rekao je da službeni odnosi mogu početi tek kada talibani ispune seriju uvjeta, uključivo poštivanje ljudskih prava i otvaranje Afganistana za humanitarne organizacije.

"Nema sumnje, ni među zemljama EU-a ni u kontekstu G7: moramo uspostaviti odnos s talibanima, moramo komunicirati s talibanima, moramo utjecati na talibane, moramo iskoristiti moć koju imamo", rekao je.

"Ali nećemo žuriti priznati ovu novu skupinu, niti uspostaviti službene odnose", rekao je zastupnicima Europskog parlamenta u Bruxellesu.

Wiegand je rekao da nije jasno hoće li talibani biti sposobni učinkovito vladati, ali za EU ključni uvjet za službene odnose bit će uspostava uključive i reprezentativne tranzicijske vlade.

Talibani još nisu imenovali novu administraciju niti otkrili kako namjeravaju vladati, dva tjedna nakon što su preuzeli kontrolu u glavnom gradu Kabulu.

Wiegand je rekao da će dodatni uvjeti za priznavanje talibana biti omogućavanje slobodnog odlaska Afganistancima koji žele napustiti zemlju, suzdržavanje od osvete nad onima koji su pomagali stranim silama ili stranim vladama, te sprečavanje da Afganistan postane novi raj za teroriste.

Treba napraviti i analizu što je krenulo pogrešnim smjerom u Afganistanu, dodao je, referirajući se na kaotičnu evakuaciju civila i stranih snaga iz Kabula nakon što su talibani preuzeli vlast.

"Moramo izvući pouke za slične situacije", dodao je.

Europska unija trebat će uspostaviti odnos s talibanima ali neće žuriti formalno priznati tu islamističku skupinu za nove čelnike Afganistana, rekao je u srijedu visoki europski dužnosnik.

Gunnar Wiegand, direktor EK za Aziju i Pacifik, rekao je da službeni odnosi mogu početi tek kada talibani ispune seriju uvjeta, uključivo poštivanje ljudskih prava i otvaranje Afganistana za humanitarne organizacije.

"Nema sumnje, ni među zemljama EU-a ni u kontekstu G7: moramo uspostaviti odnos s talibanima, moramo komunicirati s talibanima, moramo utjecati na talibane, moramo iskoristiti moć koju imamo", rekao je.

"Ali nećemo žuriti priznati ovu novu skupinu, niti uspostaviti službene odnose", rekao je zastupnicima Europskog parlamenta u Bruxellesu.

Wiegand je rekao da nije jasno hoće li talibani biti sposobni učinkovito vladati, ali za EU ključni uvjet za službene odnose bit će uspostava uključive i reprezentativne tranzicijske vlade.

Talibani još nisu imenovali novu administraciju niti otkrili kako namjeravaju vladati, dva tjedna nakon što su preuzeli kontrolu u glavnom gradu Kabulu.

Wiegand je rekao da će dodatni uvjeti za priznavanje talibana biti omogućavanje slobodnog odlaska Afganistancima koji žele napustiti zemlju, suzdržavanje od osvete nad onima koji su pomagali stranim silama ili stranim vladama, te sprečavanje da Afganistan postane novi raj za teroriste.

Treba napraviti i analizu što je krenulo pogrešnim smjerom u Afganistanu, dodao je, referirajući se na kaotičnu evakuaciju civila i stranih snaga iz Kabula nakon što su talibani preuzeli vlast.

"Moramo izvući pouke za slične situacije", dodao je.

Europska unija trebat će uspostaviti odnos s talibanima ali neće žuriti formalno priznati tu islamističku skupinu za nove čelnike Afganistana, rekao je u srijedu visoki europski dužnosnik.

Gunnar Wiegand, direktor EK za Aziju i Pacifik, rekao je da službeni odnosi mogu početi tek kada talibani ispune seriju uvjeta, uključivo poštivanje ljudskih prava i otvaranje Afganistana za humanitarne organizacije.

"Nema sumnje, ni među zemljama EU-a ni u kontekstu G7: moramo uspostaviti odnos s talibanima, moramo komunicirati s talibanima, moramo utjecati na talibane, moramo iskoristiti moć koju imamo", rekao je.

"Ali nećemo žuriti priznati ovu novu skupinu, niti uspostaviti službene odnose", rekao je zastupnicima Europskog parlamenta u Bruxellesu.
