Postoji "veća vjerojatnost nego inače" da Europa doživi značajno zahlađenje prije Božića, prema novoj dugoročnoj vremenskoj prognozi koju su izradila vodeća međunarodna klimatska tijela, piše Jutarnji list. 

Ovo upozorenje dolazi u trenutku dok europske zemlje intenzivne pune svoja skladišta prirodnog plina, nadajući se da će preživjeti zimsku sezonu grijanja bez pristupa većim ili čak niikakvim količinama plina iz Rusije.

Iako analitičari procjenjuju da bi količine u punim skladištima trebale biti dovoljne da se normalno prebrodi zima, jasno je da ako temperature snažno padnu, europske bi zemlje mogle biti prisiljene racionalizirati, odnosno ograničiti potrošnju plina, što bi izrazito negativno utjecalo na industriju i radna mjesta.

Mogućnost hladnog razdoblja ove godine - najvjerojatnije u prosincu - i dalje je "vrlo realna", rekao je za Politico Carlo Buontempo, direktor Službe za klimatske promjene Copernicus pri Europskom centru za srednjoročne vremenske prognoze (ECMWF).

‘Još je puno neizvjesnosti, no Europa treba biti oprezna‘

"Višesustavna sezonska prognoza" za listopad, objavljena u srijedu, temelji se na podacima ECMWF-a i šest drugih nacionalnih prognostičkih centara.

Predviđanje zimskog vremena u ranu jesen puno je neizvjesnosti i ključni čimbenici koji bi mogli utjecati na uvjete - osobito u siječnju i veljači - "još nisu u igri", ističe Buontempo. No, europske vlade, koje se pripremaju za prvu zimu u uvjetima energetske krize, ipak bi trebale biti oprezne zbog mogućnosti predbožićnih hladnoća koje bi stvorile dodatni pritisak na ionako napregnutu opskrbu kontinenta plinom.

"Izlazimo iz toplog ljeta. Znamo da su zime sve blaže. Stoga smo možda skloni misliti da će zima biti blaga i da ne moramo se brinuti", kaže Buontempo. "Možda to i jest slučaj, no prognoza koju objavljujemo danas i naše razumijevanje načina na koji klimatski sustav funkcionira, navodi nas da ukažemo kako zapravo još uvijek postoji šansa za vrlo hladni val, a ove godine šansa za to - prije Božića - veća je nego u normalnoj godini".

Ovo zahlađenje, ukoliko do njega dođe, bilo bi povezano s tzv. blokirajućim događajem, situacijom kada dugotrajni visoki tlak dovodi do neuobičajenih istočnih vjetrova i nižih temperatura nad Europom. Trenutačno klimatski uvjeti pokazuju kako je vjerojatnost da se takav događaj dogodi nešto veća nego inače.

Ukoliko se trenutačni vremenski obrazac fenomena La Niña s temperaturom površine mora nižom od prosječne u ekvatorijalnom Pacifiku zadrži do Nove godine - što nije nešto što se još uvijek može sa sigurnošću predvidjeti - to obično znači blažu drugu polovicu zime.

‘Koristite podatke i zbog obnovljivih izvora‘

Formiranje još jednog ključnog čimbenika koji bitno određuje vremenske prilike u siječnju i veljači - polarnog vrtloga, odnosno velikog područja niskog tlaka u kojem vjetar velike brzine kruži iznad Arktika - još nije utvrđen, što onemogućuje bilo kakva čvrsta predviđanja u ovom razdoblju.

Buontempo upozorava da je za europske vlade važno da što više koriste postojeće podatke o klimatskim uvjetima i vjerojatnim vremenskim obrascima, i to ne samo zbog planiranja akcija i pripreme za hladne udare, već i za predviđanje mogućih razdoblja slabog vjetra i niske količine oborina koja bi mogla utjecati na proizvodnju obnovljive energije.

"Imamo na raspolaganju golemu količinu besplatnih i otvorenih podataka", rekao je Buontempo. "Moramo to pravilno koristiti jer je to postalo strateški iznimno važno".

Prognoza od srijede još uvijek u sebi sadrži neizvjesnosti, no energetska tržišta obično posvećuju veliku pozornost dugoročnoj prognozi za studeni jer je do tada ‘u igri‘ većina glavnih čimbenika koji oblikuju vremenske prilike za drugi dio zime, zaključio je Buontempo.

Postoji "veća vjerojatnost nego inače" da Europa doživi značajno zahlađenje prije Božića, prema novoj dugoročnoj vremenskoj prognozi koju su izradila vodeća međunarodna klimatska tijela, piše Jutarnji list. 

Ovo upozorenje dolazi u trenutku dok europske zemlje intenzivne pune svoja skladišta prirodnog plina, nadajući se da će preživjeti zimsku sezonu grijanja bez pristupa većim ili čak niikakvim količinama plina iz Rusije.

Iako analitičari procjenjuju da bi količine u punim skladištima trebale biti dovoljne da se normalno prebrodi zima, jasno je da ako temperature snažno padnu, europske bi zemlje mogle biti prisiljene racionalizirati, odnosno ograničiti potrošnju plina, što bi izrazito negativno utjecalo na industriju i radna mjesta.

Mogućnost hladnog razdoblja ove godine - najvjerojatnije u prosincu - i dalje je "vrlo realna", rekao je za Politico Carlo Buontempo, direktor Službe za klimatske promjene Copernicus pri Europskom centru za srednjoročne vremenske prognoze (ECMWF).

‘Još je puno neizvjesnosti, no Europa treba biti oprezna‘

"Višesustavna sezonska prognoza" za listopad, objavljena u srijedu, temelji se na podacima ECMWF-a i šest drugih nacionalnih prognostičkih centara.

Predviđanje zimskog vremena u ranu jesen puno je neizvjesnosti i ključni čimbenici koji bi mogli utjecati na uvjete - osobito u siječnju i veljači - "još nisu u igri", ističe Buontempo. No, europske vlade, koje se pripremaju za prvu zimu u uvjetima energetske krize, ipak bi trebale biti oprezne zbog mogućnosti predbožićnih hladnoća koje bi stvorile dodatni pritisak na ionako napregnutu opskrbu kontinenta plinom.

"Izlazimo iz toplog ljeta. Znamo da su zime sve blaže. Stoga smo možda skloni misliti da će zima biti blaga i da ne moramo se brinuti", kaže Buontempo. "Možda to i jest slučaj, no prognoza koju objavljujemo danas i naše razumijevanje načina na koji klimatski sustav funkcionira, navodi nas da ukažemo kako zapravo još uvijek postoji šansa za vrlo hladni val, a ove godine šansa za to - prije Božića - veća je nego u normalnoj godini".

Ovo zahlađenje, ukoliko do njega dođe, bilo bi povezano s tzv. blokirajućim događajem, situacijom kada dugotrajni visoki tlak dovodi do neuobičajenih istočnih vjetrova i nižih temperatura nad Europom. Trenutačno klimatski uvjeti pokazuju kako je vjerojatnost da se takav događaj dogodi nešto veća nego inače.

Ukoliko se trenutačni vremenski obrazac fenomena La Niña s temperaturom površine mora nižom od prosječne u ekvatorijalnom Pacifiku zadrži do Nove godine - što nije nešto što se još uvijek može sa sigurnošću predvidjeti - to obično znači blažu drugu polovicu zime.

‘Koristite podatke i zbog obnovljivih izvora‘

Formiranje još jednog ključnog čimbenika koji bitno određuje vremenske prilike u siječnju i veljači - polarnog vrtloga, odnosno velikog područja niskog tlaka u kojem vjetar velike brzine kruži iznad Arktika - još nije utvrđen, što onemogućuje bilo kakva čvrsta predviđanja u ovom razdoblju.

Buontempo upozorava da je za europske vlade važno da što više koriste postojeće podatke o klimatskim uvjetima i vjerojatnim vremenskim obrascima, i to ne samo zbog planiranja akcija i pripreme za hladne udare, već i za predviđanje mogućih razdoblja slabog vjetra i niske količine oborina koja bi mogla utjecati na proizvodnju obnovljive energije.

"Imamo na raspolaganju golemu količinu besplatnih i otvorenih podataka", rekao je Buontempo. "Moramo to pravilno koristiti jer je to postalo strateški iznimno važno".

Prognoza od srijede još uvijek u sebi sadrži neizvjesnosti, no energetska tržišta obično posvećuju veliku pozornost dugoročnoj prognozi za studeni jer je do tada ‘u igri‘ većina glavnih čimbenika koji oblikuju vremenske prilike za drugi dio zime, zaključio je Buontempo.

Postoji "veća vjerojatnost nego inače" da Europa doživi značajno zahlađenje prije Božića, prema novoj dugoročnoj vremenskoj prognozi koju su izradila vodeća međunarodna klimatska tijela, piše Jutarnji list. 

Ovo upozorenje dolazi u trenutku dok europske zemlje intenzivne pune svoja skladišta prirodnog plina, nadajući se da će preživjeti zimsku sezonu grijanja bez pristupa većim ili čak niikakvim količinama plina iz Rusije.

Iako analitičari procjenjuju da bi količine u punim skladištima trebale biti dovoljne da se normalno prebrodi zima, jasno je da ako temperature snažno padnu, europske bi zemlje mogle biti prisiljene racionalizirati, odnosno ograničiti potrošnju plina, što bi izrazito negativno utjecalo na industriju i radna mjesta.

Mogućnost hladnog razdoblja ove godine - najvjerojatnije u prosincu - i dalje je "vrlo realna", rekao je za Politico Carlo Buontempo, direktor Službe za klimatske promjene Copernicus pri Europskom centru za srednjoročne vremenske prognoze (ECMWF).

‘Još je puno neizvjesnosti, no Europa treba biti oprezna‘

"Višesustavna sezonska prognoza" za listopad, objavljena u srijedu, temelji se na podacima ECMWF-a i šest drugih nacionalnih prognostičkih centara.
