Nealkoholna masna bolest jetre (NAFLD), ako se ne liječi, može napredovati do vrlo teškog stadija u kojem ožiljci na tkivu onemogućavaju jetri pravilno funkcioniranje.
To se stanje naziva cirozom, a može postati opasno po život te je stoga vrlo važno masnu jetru držati pod kontrolom.
Srećom, istraživanje sugerira da nam češnjak u tome može pomoći i to na vrlo ukusan način.
Važnost prehrane
Bilo da ga koristite kao bazu za umak za tjesteninu ili da njime istrljate tost, češnjak će vam donijeti mnogo više od samo bogatijeg okusa, piše Živim.hr
Bogata antioksidansima i antibiotskim svojstvima, ova biljka oštrog mirisa i okusa ima impresivne pozitivne učinke na zdravlje. Sve je više dokaza koji upućuju na to da češnjak i njegove bioaktivne komponente mogu pomoći u ublažavanju bolesti masne jetre.
Poznata i pod nazivom steatoza, masna jetra je uglavnom neškodljiva nakupina masti u tom organu.
Taj stadij bolesti masne jetre obično je bezazlen, no nealkoholna masna bolest jetre može napredovati sve do stadija teške ciroze koja jetru može učiniti punom ožiljaka i kvrgavom.
Istraživanje objavljeno u časopisu Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome and Obesity imalo je za cilj ispitati djelovanja češnjaka kod pacijenata s jednostavnom bolešću masne jetre.
U istraživanje je bilo uključeno 110 pacijenata kojima je ultrazvukom dijagnosticirana nealkoholna masna bolest jetre te su, prema nasumičnom izboru, primali ili 800 mg češnjaka ili placebo tijekom 15 tjedana.
Nakon tog perioda, 51,1 posto volontera u skupini koja je primala češnjak imalo je poboljšanje stanja masne jetre u usporedbi sa skupinom koja je primala placebo.
Vidna poboljšanja
- Rezultati su bili značajni i nakon što su se u obzir uzele promjene u tjelesnoj težini, kalorijski unos i razina fizičke aktivnosti. Kod skupine koja je uzimala češnjak nisu uočene nikakve neželjene nuspojave - istaknuli su autori studije dodajući da je dodatna prednost ovakve „terapije” i to što je uzimanje češnjaka dovelo i do smanjenja tjelesne težine te razine kolesterola. Znanstvenici su zaključili da je uzimanje češnjaka u prahu dovelo do značajnog poboljšanja kod pacijenata s masnom jetrom.
Ovo je istraživanje naročito zanimljivo zbog činjenice da trenutačno ne postoji lijek za nealkoholnu masnu bolest jetre, već se zdrav način života smatra prvim i glavnim izborom za poboljšanje te bolesti.
Stručnjaci tako preporučuju zdravu prehranu te, za osobe koje su pretile, smanjenje tjelesne težine.
Prehrana bi trebala obilovati voćem, povrćem, proteinima i ugljikohidratima te imati vrlo mali udio masti, šećera i soli. Uz to, preporučuje se unos vode umjesto zaslađenih pića, a od pomoći može biti i smanjen unos alkohola.
Koji su simptomi nealkoholne masne bolesti jetre
Nažalost, radi se o bolesti koja obično nema simptoma u ranoj fazi.
No, kad počne napredovati prema kasnijim stadijima, kao što je fibroza, mogu se pojaviti upozoravajući simptomi kao što su:
- tupa bol u gornjem desnom predjelu trbuha,
- ekstremna iscrpljenost,
- neobjašnjiv gubitak tjelesne težine,
- slabost.

Bogata antioksidansima i antibiotskim svojstvima, ova biljka oštrog mirisa i okusa ima impresivne pozitivne učinke na zdravlje. Sve je više dokaza koji upućuju na to da češnjak i njegove bioaktivne komponente mogu pomoći u ublažavanju bolesti masne jetre.
Poznata i pod nazivom steatoza, masna jetra je uglavnom neškodljiva nakupina masti u tom organu.
Taj stadij bolesti masne jetre obično je bezazlen, no nealkoholna masna bolest jetre može napredovati sve do stadija teške ciroze koja jetru može učiniti punom ožiljaka i kvrgavom.
Istraživanje objavljeno u časopisu Diabetes, Metabolic Syndrome and Obesity imalo je za cilj ispitati djelovanja češnjaka kod pacijenata s jednostavnom bolešću masne jetre.
U istraživanje je bilo uključeno 110 pacijenata kojima je ultrazvukom dijagnosticirana nealkoholna masna bolest jetre te su, prema nasumičnom izboru, primali ili 800 mg češnjaka ili placebo tijekom 15 tjedana.
Nakon tog perioda, 51,1 posto volontera u skupini koja je primala češnjak imalo je poboljšanje stanja masne jetre u usporedbi sa skupinom koja je primala placebo.
Vidna poboljšanja
- Rezultati su bili značajni i nakon što su se u obzir uzele promjene u tjelesnoj težini, kalorijski unos i razina fizičke aktivnosti. Kod skupine koja je uzimala češnjak nisu uočene nikakve neželjene nuspojave - istaknuli su autori studije dodajući da je dodatna prednost ovakve „terapije” i to što je uzimanje češnjaka dovelo i do smanjenja tjelesne težine te razine kolesterola. Znanstvenici su zaključili da je uzimanje češnjaka u prahu dovelo do značajnog poboljšanja kod pacijenata s masnom jetrom.
Ovo je istraživanje naročito zanimljivo zbog činjenice da trenutačno ne postoji lijek za nealkoholnu masnu bolest jetre, već se zdrav način života smatra prvim i glavnim izborom za poboljšanje te bolesti.
Stručnjaci tako preporučuju zdravu prehranu te, za osobe koje su pretile, smanjenje tjelesne težine.
Prehrana bi trebala obilovati voćem, povrćem, proteinima i ugljikohidratima te imati vrlo mali udio masti, šećera i soli. Uz to, preporučuje se unos vode umjesto zaslađenih pića, a od pomoći može biti i smanjen unos alkohola.
Koji su simptomi nealkoholne masne bolesti jetre
Nažalost, radi se o bolesti koja obično nema simptoma u ranoj fazi.
No, kad počne napredovati prema kasnijim stadijima, kao što je fibroza, mogu se pojaviti upozoravajući simptomi kao što su:
- tupa bol u gornjem desnom predjelu trbuha,
- ekstremna iscrpljenost,
- neobjašnjiv gubitak tjelesne težine,
- slabost.
