Odbor za prehrambene smjernice zaključio je da kolesterol više ne stoji na crnoj listi kao "hranjiva tvar koja izaziva zabrinutost". To je zaključak koji ruši gotovo 40 godina stara upozorenja o opasnoj hrani bogatoj kolesterolom.

Stručnjaci iz odbora objašnjavaju da postojeća istraživanja "ne pokazuju dovoljnu korelaciju između konzumacije kolesterola i količine te supstance u krvi" kod većine osoba. Iz toga zaključuju da "kolesterol nije hranjiva tvar zbog koje bi se trebalo zabrinjavati ako se puno jede".

Stručnjaci sada kažu da Konzumacija jaja, maslaca ili odrezaka neće znatno povećati razinu kolesterola u krvi ili povećati rizik od srčanih bolesti.

Oni su proučavali klinička istraživanja iz 70-tih i 80-tih godina prošlog stoljeća kao temelj za upozorenja o kolesterolu i zaključili da tadašnji dokazi "ne drže vodu".

"Jaja su u redu. Ne treba više jesti samo bjelanjak. Možete jesti i žumanjak, on je odličan", kaže nutricionistkinja Katie Vegessa i naziva ga tekućim zlatom, punim vrijednih hranjivih sastojaka koji su dobri za mozak.

Nutricionisti kažu da su upozorenja koja su desetljećima bila na snazi o kolesterolu dovela do toga da su se ljudi okrenuli hrani bogatoj ugljikohidratima i šećerom. "Ono što se dogodilo jest da smo preplavljeni šećerom i ugljikohidratima i to zapravo dovodi do brojnih upala, srčanih bolesti i pretilosti", kaže ona.

Liječnici kažu da ljudi s dijabetesom ili drugim srčanim problemima ipak i dalje trebaju biti oprezni s kolesterolom, a svi bi trebali paziti na konzumaciju trans masnih kiselina.

"Konačno shvaćamo da nije kolesterol u našoj hrani ono što je problem. Problem su trans masti, rafinirana ulja koja su u korijenu brojnih srčanih problema".

Vigessa prije svega upozorava, kada se radi o trans mastima, na pekarske proizvode, keks, čips ili krekere.

Odbor za prehrambene smjernice zaključio je da kolesterol više ne stoji na crnoj listi kao "hranjiva tvar koja izaziva zabrinutost". To je zaključak koji ruši gotovo 40 godina stara upozorenja o opasnoj hrani bogatoj kolesterolom.

Stručnjaci iz odbora objašnjavaju da postojeća istraživanja "ne pokazuju dovoljnu korelaciju između konzumacije kolesterola i količine te supstance u krvi" kod većine osoba. Iz toga zaključuju da "kolesterol nije hranjiva tvar zbog koje bi se trebalo zabrinjavati ako se puno jede".

Stručnjaci sada kažu da Konzumacija jaja, maslaca ili odrezaka neće znatno povećati razinu kolesterola u krvi ili povećati rizik od srčanih bolesti.

Oni su proučavali klinička istraživanja iz 70-tih i 80-tih godina prošlog stoljeća kao temelj za upozorenja o kolesterolu i zaključili da tadašnji dokazi "ne drže vodu".

"Jaja su u redu. Ne treba više jesti samo bjelanjak. Možete jesti i žumanjak, on je odličan", kaže nutricionistkinja Katie Vegessa i naziva ga tekućim zlatom, punim vrijednih hranjivih sastojaka koji su dobri za mozak.

Nutricionisti kažu da su upozorenja koja su desetljećima bila na snazi o kolesterolu dovela do toga da su se ljudi okrenuli hrani bogatoj ugljikohidratima i šećerom. "Ono što se dogodilo jest da smo preplavljeni šećerom i ugljikohidratima i to zapravo dovodi do brojnih upala, srčanih bolesti i pretilosti", kaže ona.

Liječnici kažu da ljudi s dijabetesom ili drugim srčanim problemima ipak i dalje trebaju biti oprezni s kolesterolom, a svi bi trebali paziti na konzumaciju trans masnih kiselina.

"Konačno shvaćamo da nije kolesterol u našoj hrani ono što je problem. Problem su trans masti, rafinirana ulja koja su u korijenu brojnih srčanih problema".

Vigessa prije svega upozorava, kada se radi o trans mastima, na pekarske proizvode, keks, čips ili krekere.
