Studija objavljena u časopisu Nature Genetics je pokazala da veći omjer struka i bokova može značiti da ste pod mnogo većim rizikom od pretilosti, piše Živim.hr.

Prema Svjetskom atlasu debljine 2022. (World Obesity Atlas 2022) koji je izdala World Obesity Federation na Svjetski dan debljine ove godine, predviđa se da će u Hrvatskoj do 2030. s debljinom živjeti gotovo milijun ljudi, dakle gotovo svaka treća žena i svaki treći muškarac, donosi HZJZ. Stoga su studije i istraživanja koja objašnjavaju zašto su neki ljudi skloniji debljanju izuzetno važni.

Upravo je do novog saznanja došla studija objavljena u časopisu Nature Genetics koja je pokazala da veći omjer struka i bokova može značiti da ste pod mnogo većim rizikom od pretilosti. Stotine gena igraju ulogu u procesu pretilosti, ali istraživači su otkrili gen SNX10 za koji misle da povećava rizik od bolesti koje proizlaze iz prekomjerne težine. Postoji i jednostavna metoda da saznate imate li ga, mjerenjem omjera struka i bokova, tvrde stručnjaci.

Zašto je omjer struka i bokova relevantan?

Širina struka u usporedbi sa širinom bokova pokazatelj je visceralne masnoće, koja obavija organe u trbuhu te proizvodi kemikalije i hormone koji mogu biti otrovni. Omjer struka i bokova izračunava se mjerenjem opsega struka i bokova u centimetrima i dijeljenjem navedenih mjera. Za žene, idealan omjer je do 0.90, a za muškarce do 0.99.

No, kakvu ulogu ima SNX10 gen? Istraživači su otkrili da je SNX10 gen povezan s većim omjerom struka i bokova kod žena, a također je pokazatelj viših razina kolesterola i triglicerida, koji su često povezani s kardiovaskularnim bolestima. Što znači da povećava rizik od bolesti. Da bi došli do ovih saznanja, istraživači su koristili bazu podataka više 700.000 skupova gena ljudi.

Liječnici koriste sve više ovaj omjer umjesto indeksa tjelesne mase (BMI) za bolje mjerenje rizika od pretilosti i kardiovaskularnih bolesti. Tako mogu pratiti ne samo rizik od pretilosti nego i od kroničnih bolesti, kao što su dijabetes, krvi tlak, ali i karcinomi. No, kada se omjer struka i bokova prilagodi tako da uključuje i indeks tjelesne mase, može se koristiti za praćenje visceralnog masnog tkiva. Naravno, treba razlikovati visceralno salo koja obavija vaše trbušne organe duboko u tijelu i potkožno salo živi ispod kože.

Kako se riješiti visceralne masnoće?

Visceralna ili trbušna masnoća obavija vitalne organe u trbušnoj šupljini i obično osobe s takvim tipom masnoće imaju veliki trbuh ili oblik tijela nalik na jabuku. Taj tip masti je opasan jer u krv luči kemikalije i hormone koji izazivaju upalu i povezani su s kroničnim bolestima kao što su srčane bolesti ili bolest masne jetre. Dodatno je čini opasnom to što se nakuplja vrlo blizu i oko tih vitalnih organa.

Mediteranska prehrana, koja obiluje zdravim mastima i proteinima te ima nizak udio ugljikohidrata, postala je izuzetno popularna posljednjih godina nakon što su brojne studije pokazale da štiti od raka te produljuje očekivani životni vijek. Zelena mediteranska dijeta također sadrži obilje mahunarki i grahorica, cjelovitih žitarica, zelenog lisnatog povrća, maslinovo ulje, orašaste plodove i ribu, ali ima veći naglasak na namirnicama biljnog porijekla.

Studija objavljena u časopisu Nature Genetics je pokazala da veći omjer struka i bokova može značiti da ste pod mnogo većim rizikom od pretilosti, piše Živim.hr.

Prema Svjetskom atlasu debljine 2022. (World Obesity Atlas 2022) koji je izdala World Obesity Federation na Svjetski dan debljine ove godine, predviđa se da će u Hrvatskoj do 2030. s debljinom živjeti gotovo milijun ljudi, dakle gotovo svaka treća žena i svaki treći muškarac, donosi HZJZ. Stoga su studije i istraživanja koja objašnjavaju zašto su neki ljudi skloniji debljanju izuzetno važni.

Upravo je do novog saznanja došla studija objavljena u časopisu Nature Genetics koja je pokazala da veći omjer struka i bokova može značiti da ste pod mnogo većim rizikom od pretilosti. Stotine gena igraju ulogu u procesu pretilosti, ali istraživači su otkrili gen SNX10 za koji misle da povećava rizik od bolesti koje proizlaze iz prekomjerne težine. Postoji i jednostavna metoda da saznate imate li ga, mjerenjem omjera struka i bokova, tvrde stručnjaci.

Zašto je omjer struka i bokova relevantan?

Širina struka u usporedbi sa širinom bokova pokazatelj je visceralne masnoće, koja obavija organe u trbuhu te proizvodi kemikalije i hormone koji mogu biti otrovni. Omjer struka i bokova izračunava se mjerenjem opsega struka i bokova u centimetrima i dijeljenjem navedenih mjera. Za žene, idealan omjer je do 0.90, a za muškarce do 0.99.

No, kakvu ulogu ima SNX10 gen? Istraživači su otkrili da je SNX10 gen povezan s većim omjerom struka i bokova kod žena, a također je pokazatelj viših razina kolesterola i triglicerida, koji su često povezani s kardiovaskularnim bolestima. Što znači da povećava rizik od bolesti. Da bi došli do ovih saznanja, istraživači su koristili bazu podataka više 700.000 skupova gena ljudi.

- Sad smo identificirali gen, od stotina gena koji su uključeni u nakupljanje mesti ili pretilosti, za koji postoji veća vjerojatnost da uzrokuje komplikacije bolesti i, što je još zanimljivije, to čini prvenstveno kod žena - navodi Marcelo Nobrega, profesor ljudske genetike na Sveučilištu Chicago i jedan od autora studije.

Liječnici koriste sve više ovaj omjer umjesto indeksa tjelesne mase (BMI) za bolje mjerenje rizika od pretilosti i kardiovaskularnih bolesti. Tako mogu pratiti ne samo rizik od pretilosti nego i od kroničnih bolesti, kao što su dijabetes, krvi tlak, ali i karcinomi. No, kada se omjer struka i bokova prilagodi tako da uključuje i indeks tjelesne mase, može se koristiti za praćenje visceralnog masnog tkiva. Naravno, treba razlikovati visceralno salo koja obavija vaše trbušne organe duboko u tijelu i potkožno salo živi ispod kože.

Kako se riješiti visceralne masnoće?

Visceralna ili trbušna masnoća obavija vitalne organe u trbušnoj šupljini i obično osobe s takvim tipom masnoće imaju veliki trbuh ili oblik tijela nalik na jabuku. Taj tip masti je opasan jer u krv luči kemikalije i hormone koji izazivaju upalu i povezani su s kroničnim bolestima kao što su srčane bolesti ili bolest masne jetre. Dodatno je čini opasnom to što se nakuplja vrlo blizu i oko tih vitalnih organa.

Mediteranska prehrana, koja obiluje zdravim mastima i proteinima te ima nizak udio ugljikohidrata, postala je izuzetno popularna posljednjih godina nakon što su brojne studije pokazale da štiti od raka te produljuje očekivani životni vijek. Zelena mediteranska dijeta također sadrži obilje mahunarki i grahorica, cjelovitih žitarica, zelenog lisnatog povrća, maslinovo ulje, orašaste plodove i ribu, ali ima veći naglasak na namirnicama biljnog porijekla.

Studija objavljena u časopisu Nature Genetics je pokazala da veći omjer struka i bokova može značiti da ste pod mnogo većim rizikom od pretilosti, piše Živim.hr.

Prema Svjetskom atlasu debljine 2022. (World Obesity Atlas 2022) koji je izdala World Obesity Federation na Svjetski dan debljine ove godine, predviđa se da će u Hrvatskoj do 2030. s debljinom živjeti gotovo milijun ljudi, dakle gotovo svaka treća žena i svaki treći muškarac, donosi HZJZ. Stoga su studije i istraživanja koja objašnjavaju zašto su neki ljudi skloniji debljanju izuzetno važni.
