Tvrtke Sanofi i GlaxoSmithKline u petak su priopćile da će nastaviti s testiranjem zajedničkog cjepiva protiv Covida-19 nakon što su klinička ispitivanja pokazala nedovoljan imunosni odgovor kod starijih pacijenata, a probleme s razvojem svog lokalnog cjepiva ima i Australija.
"Jučerašnji rezultati su pokazali imunosni odgovor kod pacijenata koji su se oporavili od Covida-19 starih između 18 i 49 godina, no vrlo slabi imunosni odgovor kod starijih pacijenata, najvjerojatnije zbog nedovoljne koncentracije antigena", priopćio je Sanofi, prenose agencije.
Jean-Daniel Lelievre, šef klinike za imunologiju i zarazne bolesti u francuskoj bolnici Henri-Mondor u Creteilu, kaže da "tom vrstom cjepiva, rezultat nije iznenađenje".
"Znamo da je kod starijih pacijenata potrebno više antigena. No, u fazama II i III, proizvođači testiraju toleranciju na lijek i ne mogu testirati jake doze. Mislim da će Sanofi/GSK moći poboljšati svoje cjepivo", rekao je Lelievre.
Sanofi i GSK u veljači pokreću drugu studiju, u nadi da će učinkovito cjepivo moći imati do kraja 2021., što predstavlja svojevrsni udarac njihovim naporima u borbi protiv pandemije koronavirusa SARS-CoV-2.
Udarac nizu cjepiva u nastajanju
To je također i udarac nizu cjepiva u nastajanju koja se oslanjaju na dokazani, konvencionalni razvoj lijeka u odnosu na cjepivo Pfizera i BioNTecha u čijoj je izradi korištena nova, napredna tehnologija.
Nemalo je to iznenađenje i udarac brojnim vladama, uključujući EU, SAD, Kanadu i Veliku Britaniju koje su već rezervirale stotine milijuna doza u nastojanju da zaustave epidemiju koja je u svijetu već odnijela vije od 1,5 milijuna života i smlavila gospodarstva.
Faza III mogla bi početi u drugom kvartalu 2021., a pozitivan ishod bi mogao rezultirati podnošenjem zahtjeva regulatornim tijelima u drugoj polovici godine. Tako bi cjepivo eventualno moglo biti dostupno tek u zadnjem kvartalu 2021., umjesto, kako je bilo predviđano, u prvoj polovici te godine.
Sanofi-GSK cjepivo koristi istu tehnologiju kao kod proizvodnje cjepiva protiv gripe.
Australija odustala od svog cjepiva
Australija je u petak odustala od svog lokalnog cjepiva protiv covida-19 nakon što su ispitivanja pokazala da bi moglo doći u koliziju s dijagnozom HIV-a.
Pokazalo se da antitijela nastala nakon primjene cjepiva, koje razvijaju Sveučilište Queensland (UQ) i biotehnološka tvrtka CSL, mogu upućivati na lažno pozitivan test na HIV.
Iako je cjepivo izazvalo "snažan" imunosni odgovor na SARS-CoV-2 bez ozbiljnih nuspojava u fazama I i II, za "popravak" cjepiva bi možda trebalo 12 mjeseci.
CSL i australska vlada su zajednički odlučili obustaviti fazu II i III kliničkih ispitivanja.
"Bilo je teško donijeti tu odluku, no potreba za hitnom nabavkom cjepivom mora biti svačiji prioritet", kazao je profesor Paul Young sa UQ-a.
CSL će umjesto toga proizvesti 20 milijuna doza cjepiva AstraZenece i Sveučilišta Oxford. Vlada je također osigurala i cjepivo Novavaxa i Pfizera.
Sveukupno je Australija osigurala 140 milijuna doza cjepiva za 25 milijuna ljudi.
Rusi nude suradnju Sanofiju
- Programeri ruskog cjepiva protiv koronavirusa Sputnjik V spremni su podijeliti svoje tehnologije s francuskom farmakološkom korporacijom Sanofi, kaže se na službenom Twitter računu Sputnjika V.
"Sputnjik V spreman je podijeliti svoju tehnologiju sa Sanofijem kako bi pomogao u razvoju cjepiva. Partnerstvo različitih proizvođača put je u budućnost", navodi se u poruci.
AstraZeneca će ispitati kombinaciju svog i ruskog cjepiva
Britanska farmaceutska tvrtka AstraZeneca objavila je u petak da će ispitati kombinaciju svog i ruskog cjepiva Sputnik, koja bi po ruskim znanstvenicima mogla jako povećati učinkovitost AstraZenecina cjepiva.
Rusi su prošli mjesec na Twitteru sugerirali da bi AstraZeneca trebala iskušati tu kombinaciju.
"Sputnik V je sretan što jedan od svoja dva vektora može podijeliti s AstraZenecom kako bi se povećala učinkovitost njezina cjepiva. Kombinacija dva različita vektora iz dvaju cjepiva rezultirat će većom učinkovitošču nego samo jedan vektor", objavili su ruski stručnjaci 23. studenoga.
AstraZeneca je u petak priopćila da razmatra kako pristupiti kombinaciji i da će uskoro početi testiranja u suradnji s ruskim institutom Gamaleja koji je razvio Sputnik V.
Studija objavljena ovoga tjedna pokazuje da je AstraZenecino cjepivo, razvijeno u suradnji sa sveučilištem Oxford, učinkovito 70.4 posto. Rusija je objavila da je učinkovitost Sputnika V 92 posto.
"To pokazuje snagu Sputnika V i našu spremnost i želju za suradnju s drugim partnerima u borbi protiv covida-19", rekao je Kiril Dmitriev, čelnik ruskog fonda RDIF koji je financirao razvoj Sputnika V.

Tvrtke Sanofi i GlaxoSmithKline u petak su priopćile da će nastaviti s testiranjem zajedničkog cjepiva protiv Covida-19 nakon što su klinička ispitivanja pokazala nedovoljan imunosni odgovor kod starijih pacijenata, a probleme s razvojem svog lokalnog cjepiva ima i Australija.
"Jučerašnji rezultati su pokazali imunosni odgovor kod pacijenata koji su se oporavili od Covida-19 starih između 18 i 49 godina, no vrlo slabi imunosni odgovor kod starijih pacijenata, najvjerojatnije zbog nedovoljne koncentracije antigena", priopćio je Sanofi, prenose agencije.
Jean-Daniel Lelievre, šef klinike za imunologiju i zarazne bolesti u francuskoj bolnici Henri-Mondor u Creteilu, kaže da "tom vrstom cjepiva, rezultat nije iznenađenje".
"Znamo da je kod starijih pacijenata potrebno više antigena. No, u fazama II i III, proizvođači testiraju toleranciju na lijek i ne mogu testirati jake doze. Mislim da će Sanofi/GSK moći poboljšati svoje cjepivo", rekao je Lelievre.
Sanofi i GSK u veljači pokreću drugu studiju, u nadi da će učinkovito cjepivo moći imati do kraja 2021., što predstavlja svojevrsni udarac njihovim naporima u borbi protiv pandemije koronavirusa SARS-CoV-2.
Udarac nizu cjepiva u nastajanju
To je također i udarac nizu cjepiva u nastajanju koja se oslanjaju na dokazani, konvencionalni razvoj lijeka u odnosu na cjepivo Pfizera i BioNTecha u čijoj je izradi korištena nova, napredna tehnologija.
Nemalo je to iznenađenje i udarac brojnim vladama, uključujući EU, SAD, Kanadu i Veliku Britaniju koje su već rezervirale stotine milijuna doza u nastojanju da zaustave epidemiju koja je u svijetu već odnijela vije od 1,5 milijuna života i smlavila gospodarstva.
Faza III mogla bi početi u drugom kvartalu 2021., a pozitivan ishod bi mogao rezultirati podnošenjem zahtjeva regulatornim tijelima u drugoj polovici godine. Tako bi cjepivo eventualno moglo biti dostupno tek u zadnjem kvartalu 2021., umjesto, kako je bilo predviđano, u prvoj polovici te godine.
Sanofi-GSK cjepivo koristi istu tehnologiju kao kod proizvodnje cjepiva protiv gripe.
Australija odustala od svog cjepiva
Australija je u petak odustala od svog lokalnog cjepiva protiv covida-19 nakon što su ispitivanja pokazala da bi moglo doći u koliziju s dijagnozom HIV-a.
Pokazalo se da antitijela nastala nakon primjene cjepiva, koje razvijaju Sveučilište Queensland (UQ) i biotehnološka tvrtka CSL, mogu upućivati na lažno pozitivan test na HIV.
Iako je cjepivo izazvalo "snažan" imunosni odgovor na SARS-CoV-2 bez ozbiljnih nuspojava u fazama I i II, za "popravak" cjepiva bi možda trebalo 12 mjeseci.
CSL i australska vlada su zajednički odlučili obustaviti fazu II i III kliničkih ispitivanja.
"Bilo je teško donijeti tu odluku, no potreba za hitnom nabavkom cjepivom mora biti svačiji prioritet", kazao je profesor Paul Young sa UQ-a.
CSL će umjesto toga proizvesti 20 milijuna doza cjepiva AstraZenece i Sveučilišta Oxford. Vlada je također osigurala i cjepivo Novavaxa i Pfizera.
Sveukupno je Australija osigurala 140 milijuna doza cjepiva za 25 milijuna ljudi.
Rusi nude suradnju Sanofiju
- Programeri ruskog cjepiva protiv koronavirusa Sputnjik V spremni su podijeliti svoje tehnologije s francuskom farmakološkom korporacijom Sanofi, kaže se na službenom Twitter računu Sputnjika V.
"Sputnjik V spreman je podijeliti svoju tehnologiju sa Sanofijem kako bi pomogao u razvoju cjepiva. Partnerstvo različitih proizvođača put je u budućnost", navodi se u poruci.
AstraZeneca će ispitati kombinaciju svog i ruskog cjepiva
Britanska farmaceutska tvrtka AstraZeneca objavila je u petak da će ispitati kombinaciju svog i ruskog cjepiva Sputnik, koja bi po ruskim znanstvenicima mogla jako povećati učinkovitost AstraZenecina cjepiva.
Rusi su prošli mjesec na Twitteru sugerirali da bi AstraZeneca trebala iskušati tu kombinaciju.
"Sputnik V je sretan što jedan od svoja dva vektora može podijeliti s AstraZenecom kako bi se povećala učinkovitost njezina cjepiva. Kombinacija dva različita vektora iz dvaju cjepiva rezultirat će većom učinkovitošču nego samo jedan vektor", objavili su ruski stručnjaci 23. studenoga.
AstraZeneca je u petak priopćila da razmatra kako pristupiti kombinaciji i da će uskoro početi testiranja u suradnji s ruskim institutom Gamaleja koji je razvio Sputnik V.
Studija objavljena ovoga tjedna pokazuje da je AstraZenecino cjepivo, razvijeno u suradnji sa sveučilištem Oxford, učinkovito 70.4 posto. Rusija je objavila da je učinkovitost Sputnika V 92 posto.
"To pokazuje snagu Sputnika V i našu spremnost i želju za suradnju s drugim partnerima u borbi protiv covida-19", rekao je Kiril Dmitriev, čelnik ruskog fonda RDIF koji je financirao razvoj Sputnika V.
