Booster doze cjepiva protiv koronavirusa povećavaju zaštitu od smrti od varijante omikron na 95 posto kod ljudi starijih od 50 godina, objavila je u četvrtak Agencija za zdravstvenu sigurnost Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva.
UKHSA je objavila da je oko šest mjeseci nakon druge doze bilo kojeg cjepiva protiv koronavirusa, zaštita od smrti nakon zaraze varijantom omikron bila oko 60 posto kod osoba starijih od 50 godina.
Međutim, to se povećalo na oko 95 posto dva tjedna nakon primanja booster doze cjepiva.
UKHSA je dodala da podaci i dalje pokazuju visoku razinu zaštite od hospitalizacije nakon booster doze cjepiva.
Učinkovitost protiv hospitalizacije bila je oko 90 posto za cjepivo Pfizer-BioNTech i pala je na 75 posto 10 do14 tjedana nakon boostera.
Za Modernu, učinkovitost protiv hospitalizacije bila je 90-95 posto do 9 tjedana nakon booster doze cjepiva.
"Dokazi su jasni – cjepivo pomaže u zaštiti svih nas od učinaka covida-19, a cjepivo nudi visoku razinu zaštite od hospitalizacije i smrti najranjivijim članovima našeg društva“, rekla je dr. Mary Ramsay, voditeljica programa cijepljenja u UKHSA.
UKHSA je također objavila početnu analizu učinkovitosti cjepiva protiv podvarijante omikrona nazvane BA.2, koja je u porastu u Britaniji i Danskoj, pronalazeći sličnu razinu zaštite od simptomatske bolesti.
"Nakon dvije doze učinkovitost je bila 9 posto odnosno 13 posto za BA.1 i BA.2, nakon više od 25 tjedana od te doze", navodi UKHSA.
"To se povećalo na 63 posto za BA.1 i 70 posto za BA.2 u razdoblju nakon dva tjedna od booster doze."

Booster doze cjepiva protiv koronavirusa povećavaju zaštitu od smrti od varijante omikron na 95 posto kod ljudi starijih od 50 godina, objavila je u četvrtak Agencija za zdravstvenu sigurnost Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva.
UKHSA je objavila da je oko šest mjeseci nakon druge doze bilo kojeg cjepiva protiv koronavirusa, zaštita od smrti nakon zaraze varijantom omikron bila oko 60 posto kod osoba starijih od 50 godina.
Međutim, to se povećalo na oko 95 posto dva tjedna nakon primanja booster doze cjepiva.
UKHSA je dodala da podaci i dalje pokazuju visoku razinu zaštite od hospitalizacije nakon booster doze cjepiva.
Učinkovitost protiv hospitalizacije bila je oko 90 posto za cjepivo Pfizer-BioNTech i pala je na 75 posto 10 do14 tjedana nakon boostera.
Za Modernu, učinkovitost protiv hospitalizacije bila je 90-95 posto do 9 tjedana nakon booster doze cjepiva.
"Dokazi su jasni – cjepivo pomaže u zaštiti svih nas od učinaka covida-19, a cjepivo nudi visoku razinu zaštite od hospitalizacije i smrti najranjivijim članovima našeg društva“, rekla je dr. Mary Ramsay, voditeljica programa cijepljenja u UKHSA.
UKHSA je također objavila početnu analizu učinkovitosti cjepiva protiv podvarijante omikrona nazvane BA.2, koja je u porastu u Britaniji i Danskoj, pronalazeći sličnu razinu zaštite od simptomatske bolesti.
"Nakon dvije doze učinkovitost je bila 9 posto odnosno 13 posto za BA.1 i BA.2, nakon više od 25 tjedana od te doze", navodi UKHSA.
"To se povećalo na 63 posto za BA.1 i 70 posto za BA.2 u razdoblju nakon dva tjedna od booster doze."
