Ujedinjeni Arapski Emirati i Egipat dogovorili su se oko izgradnje novog grada na mediteranskoj obali te sjevernoafričke države, a fond za bogatstvo Abu Dabija ADQ rekao je da će voditi konzorcij koji planira uložiti 35 milijardi dolara, piše Bloomberg, a prenosi Jutarnji list.

Egipatski premijer Mostafa Madbouly opisao je plan razvoja Ras El-Hekma, područja oko 350 kilometara sjeverozapadno od Kaira, kao najveći posao u povijesti njegove zemlje. ADQ je rekao da očekuje da će privući preko 150 milijardi dolara ulaganja za projekt.

Govoreći u petak, Madbouly je rekao da će Egipat dobiti 24 milijarde dolara nove likvidnosti kao rezultat dogovora.

UAE će također pretvoriti svojih 11 milijardi dolara depozita u egipatskoj središnjoj banci za financiranje pothvata, rekao je.

Inozemne obveznice Egipta porasle su nakon te vijesti, a vladine dolarske novčanice koje dospijevaju 2051. skočile su 4,5 centi po dolaru, što je rekordni skok.

Financiranje je poticaj naporima Kaira da se uhvati u koštac s najgorom valutnom krizom u desetljećima i moglo bi mu pomoći u provođenju dugo očekivane devalvacije valute koja bi bila četvrta u Egiptu od početka 2022.

Iako je MMF mjesecima pozivao na taj korak, vlasti su vjerojatno čekale znatan priljev strane valute koji bi im omogućio upravljanje prilagodbom bez opasnosti od prekoračenja.

Egipat bi trebao dobiti 35% profita od projekta Ras El-Hekma, a Emirati su u sklopu projekta pristali i na zajedničko ulaganje u međunarodnu zračnu luku na tom području.

Prošle je godine ADQ potrošio 800 milijuna dolara na manjinske udjele u Egyptian Ethylene and Derivatives Co., naftnoj tvrtki Egyptian Drilling Co. i egipatskom Linear Alkyl Benzeneu, petrokemijskom proizvođaču.

Tvrtka iz Ujedinjenih Arapskih Emirata kupila je 30% udjela u najvećoj egipatskoj duhanskoj kompaniji za 625 milijuna dolara, dok su Egipat i zaljevska zemlja u rujnu potpisali sporazum o zamjeni lokalne valute vrijedan oko 1,4 milijarde dolara, piše Jutarnji list.

Ujedinjeni Arapski Emirati i Egipat dogovorili su se oko izgradnje novog grada na mediteranskoj obali te sjevernoafričke države, a fond za bogatstvo Abu Dabija ADQ rekao je da će voditi konzorcij koji planira uložiti 35 milijardi dolara, piše Bloomberg, a prenosi Jutarnji list.

Egipatski premijer Mostafa Madbouly opisao je plan razvoja Ras El-Hekma, područja oko 350 kilometara sjeverozapadno od Kaira, kao najveći posao u povijesti njegove zemlje. ADQ je rekao da očekuje da će privući preko 150 milijardi dolara ulaganja za projekt.

Govoreći u petak, Madbouly je rekao da će Egipat dobiti 24 milijarde dolara nove likvidnosti kao rezultat dogovora.

UAE će također pretvoriti svojih 11 milijardi dolara depozita u egipatskoj središnjoj banci za financiranje pothvata, rekao je.

Inozemne obveznice Egipta porasle su nakon te vijesti, a vladine dolarske novčanice koje dospijevaju 2051. skočile su 4,5 centi po dolaru, što je rekordni skok.
