Bivši češki predsjednik, a prije toga čuveni disident, Vaclav Havel, kritizirao je na početku ovogodišnjeg Foruma 2000 u Pragu, američkog predsjednika i svježeg laureata Nobelove nagrade za mir Baracka Obamu jer se nije sastao sa tibetanskim Dalaj-lamom, nego je taj sastanak odgodio za idući mjesec, nakon što obavi posjet Kini, koja ne gleda naklono političku i društvenu aktivnost Dalaj-lame.

Havel je kritički ocjenjivao stanje u svijetu 20 godina nakon pada komunizma u Europi i izrazio žaljenje što euroatlantska zajednica previše drži do ekonomskih interesa, dok su ljudska prava “samo nekakva trešnjica na torti”.

„Kada, na primjer, upravo proglašeni dobitnik Nobelove nagrade za mir odgodi susret s Dalaj-lamom, također laureatom iste nagrade, radi posjeta kontinentalnoj Kini, time načini mali, beznačajni kompromis, koji ima svoju logiku. No, pitanje je imaju li veliki sudbinski kompromisi svoju predigru, svoje prapodrijetlo, svoje prve izvorčiće upravo u tim malim, nenapadnim, manje-više logičnim kompromisima“, upozorio je u tom kontekstu Havel, domaćin i inicijator ove tradicionalne konferencije u Pragu.

Bivši češki predsjednik, a prije toga čuveni disident, Vaclav Havel, kritizirao je na početku ovogodišnjeg Foruma 2000 u Pragu, američkog predsjednika i svježeg laureata Nobelove nagrade za mir Baracka Obamu jer se nije sastao sa tibetanskim Dalaj-lamom, nego je taj sastanak odgodio za idući mjesec, nakon što obavi posjet Kini, koja ne gleda naklono političku i društvenu aktivnost Dalaj-lame.

Havel je kritički ocjenjivao stanje u svijetu 20 godina nakon pada komunizma u Europi i izrazio žaljenje što euroatlantska zajednica previše drži do ekonomskih interesa, dok su ljudska prava “samo nekakva trešnjica na torti”.

„Kada, na primjer, upravo proglašeni dobitnik Nobelove nagrade za mir odgodi susret s Dalaj-lamom, također laureatom iste nagrade, radi posjeta kontinentalnoj Kini, time načini mali, beznačajni kompromis, koji ima svoju logiku. No, pitanje je imaju li veliki sudbinski kompromisi svoju predigru, svoje prapodrijetlo, svoje prve izvorčiće upravo u tim malim, nenapadnim, manje-više logičnim kompromisima“, upozorio je u tom kontekstu Havel, domaćin i inicijator ove tradicionalne konferencije u Pragu.
