Od svih posljedica klimatskih promjena, ona koja će najvjerojatnije prouzrokovati najveći broj smrtnih slučajeva mogla bi biti masovna migracija stanovništva, piše The Good Men Project.
Jednom kad neki prostori postanu nepodnošljivi za život u njima, ljudi će biti prisiljeni iseljavati iz svojih domova i potražiti drugo stanište. Nepodnošljiva vrućina, porast razine oceana i mora, suše i poplave iz godinu će u godinu sve više stanovništva ostavljati bez krova nad glavom.
Iz tropskih će se krajeva, predviđaju stručnjaci, ljudi najprije početi iseljavati, a kako globalna temperatura bude rasla, tzv. regionalna migracija će se nastavljati prema sjeveru i prema jugu. Lokalna migracija odvijat će se unutar granica pojedinih država, a većinom se svodi na to da će urbano stanovništvo seliti u unutrašnjost zbog pomicanja razine mora ili u skladu s uvjetima.
Predviđa se ukupno deset glavnih migracijskih putova:
1. Stanovnici Kariba, Srednje Amerike i sjeverne Južne Amerike selit će se sjeverno, u Sjedinjene Države
2. Stanovnici predijela Amazonije selit će se južno, do Paragvaja, Bolivije, Argentine i Čilea
3. Stanovnici sjeverne Afrike selit će se sjeverno, u Europu
4. Stanovnici srednje Afrike selit će se u južne Afriku
5. Stanovnici Bliskog istoka selit će se na sjeverozapad, do Europe
6. Stanovnici Indije selit će se sjeverozapadno, do Srednje Azije i Europe
7. Stanovnici jugoistočne Azije selit će se sjeverno do Kine, Koreje, Japana i Rusije
8. Stanovnici Malezije i Indonezije selit će se južno do Australije
9. Stanovnici Polinezije i Melanezije selit će se do Australije i širom svijeta
10. Stanovnici jugoistoka Australije na Novi Zeland

Kao što je vidljivo iz predviđenih ruta selidbe, "klimatske izbjeglice" kretat će se uglavnom iz tropskih područja prema umjerenim zonama pogodnijima za život. Za razliku od dosadašnjih migracija koje su uglavnom bile potaknute siromaštvom, političkim uvjetima u pojedinim državama, one klimatske prisilit će gotovo sve da traže azil u zemljama manje pogođenima klimatskim katastrofama.
Migracije u Europu
Jedna od poteškoća koje stručnjaci pritom predviđaju za države Europe odnosi se ponajprije na činjenicu da je "stari kontinent" skup zemalja s potpuno različitim politikama kad su izbjeglice u pitanju.
Za razliku od SAD-a, nadalje, Europa ima raznovrsnije (i dulje) granice, stoga će jednom kad uvjeti na Bliskome istoku i u sjevernoj Africi postanu nepodnošljivi, u države EU navirati stanovnici sa svih strana - također, tu je i nekoliko milijuna ljudi iz Indije koji se neće svi moći nastaniti u državama srednje Azije, već će proći područjem Balkana.
Ne smijemo zaboraviti ni na činjenicu da su nemiri na Bliskome istoku samo dodatak na neizvjesnost. 2015. godine, tijekom vrhunca građanskog rata u Siriji, nešto više od milijun izbjeglica s Bliskog istoka preselilo se u Europu. Od tada se tempo migracija znatno usporio, ali pritisak samo jednog milijuna izbjeglica na EU bio je dovoljno jak da unese pomutnju i prisili čelnike da donesu zakone koji će olakšati živote stanovnicima.
Što će se dogoditi kad umijesto jednog budemo imali 800 milijuna migranata? Poput SAD-a, i Europa će morati zatvoriti svoje granice kako bi preživjela, smatraju neki. Može li to učiniti uspješno ili ne, neizvjesno je.
Utjecaj na svjetsku ekonomiju
Iako najcrnji scenariji predviđaju kako će se na granicama odvijati borba za preživljavanje, nije neznatan ni utjecaj koji će klimatske migracije ostaviti na svjetsku ekonomiju koja ovisi uvelike o međunarodnoj trgovini.
Politička nestabilnost i masovne migracije mogla bi zaustaviti trgovinu između emigrantskih i imigrantskih zemalja, što će stvoriti probleme za obje strane podjednako. Bruto svjetski proizvod će opadati, zemlje u razvoju bit će lišene pomoći drugih država i nevladinih organizacija, a razvijene će zemlje teže pristupiti prirodnim resursima kojih će biti sve manje.

Jednom kad neki prostori postanu nepodnošljivi za život u njima, ljudi će biti prisiljeni iseljavati iz svojih domova i potražiti drugo stanište. Nepodnošljiva vrućina, porast razine oceana i mora, suše i poplave iz godinu će u godinu sve više stanovništva ostavljati bez krova nad glavom.
Iz tropskih će se krajeva, predviđaju stručnjaci, ljudi najprije početi iseljavati, a kako globalna temperatura bude rasla, tzv. regionalna migracija će se nastavljati prema sjeveru i prema jugu. Lokalna migracija odvijat će se unutar granica pojedinih država, a većinom se svodi na to da će urbano stanovništvo seliti u unutrašnjost zbog pomicanja razine mora ili u skladu s uvjetima.
Predviđa se ukupno deset glavnih migracijskih putova:
1. Stanovnici Kariba, Srednje Amerike i sjeverne Južne Amerike selit će se sjeverno, u Sjedinjene Države
2. Stanovnici predijela Amazonije selit će se južno, do Paragvaja, Bolivije, Argentine i Čilea
3. Stanovnici sjeverne Afrike selit će se sjeverno, u Europu
4. Stanovnici srednje Afrike selit će se u južne Afriku
5. Stanovnici Bliskog istoka selit će se na sjeverozapad, do Europe
6. Stanovnici Indije selit će se sjeverozapadno, do Srednje Azije i Europe
7. Stanovnici jugoistočne Azije selit će se sjeverno do Kine, Koreje, Japana i Rusije
8. Stanovnici Malezije i Indonezije selit će se južno do Australije
9. Stanovnici Polinezije i Melanezije selit će se do Australije i širom svijeta
10. Stanovnici jugoistoka Australije na Novi Zeland

Kao što je vidljivo iz predviđenih ruta selidbe, "klimatske izbjeglice" kretat će se uglavnom iz tropskih područja prema umjerenim zonama pogodnijima za život. Za razliku od dosadašnjih migracija koje su uglavnom bile potaknute siromaštvom, političkim uvjetima u pojedinim državama, one klimatske prisilit će gotovo sve da traže azil u zemljama manje pogođenima klimatskim katastrofama.
Migracije u Europu
Jedna od poteškoća koje stručnjaci pritom predviđaju za države Europe odnosi se ponajprije na činjenicu da je "stari kontinent" skup zemalja s potpuno različitim politikama kad su izbjeglice u pitanju.
Za razliku od SAD-a, nadalje, Europa ima raznovrsnije (i dulje) granice, stoga će jednom kad uvjeti na Bliskome istoku i u sjevernoj Africi postanu nepodnošljivi, u države EU navirati stanovnici sa svih strana - također, tu je i nekoliko milijuna ljudi iz Indije koji se neće svi moći nastaniti u državama srednje Azije, već će proći područjem Balkana.
Ne smijemo zaboraviti ni na činjenicu da su nemiri na Bliskome istoku samo dodatak na neizvjesnost. 2015. godine, tijekom vrhunca građanskog rata u Siriji, nešto više od milijun izbjeglica s Bliskog istoka preselilo se u Europu. Od tada se tempo migracija znatno usporio, ali pritisak samo jednog milijuna izbjeglica na EU bio je dovoljno jak da unese pomutnju i prisili čelnike da donesu zakone koji će olakšati živote stanovnicima.
Što će se dogoditi kad umijesto jednog budemo imali 800 milijuna migranata? Poput SAD-a, i Europa će morati zatvoriti svoje granice kako bi preživjela, smatraju neki. Može li to učiniti uspješno ili ne, neizvjesno je.
Utjecaj na svjetsku ekonomiju
Iako najcrnji scenariji predviđaju kako će se na granicama odvijati borba za preživljavanje, nije neznatan ni utjecaj koji će klimatske migracije ostaviti na svjetsku ekonomiju koja ovisi uvelike o međunarodnoj trgovini.
Politička nestabilnost i masovne migracije mogla bi zaustaviti trgovinu između emigrantskih i imigrantskih zemalja, što će stvoriti probleme za obje strane podjednako. Bruto svjetski proizvod će opadati, zemlje u razvoju bit će lišene pomoći drugih država i nevladinih organizacija, a razvijene će zemlje teže pristupiti prirodnim resursima kojih će biti sve manje.
