Završetak epidemije u Maliju objavili su u nedjelju navečer u glavnome gradu Bamaku ministar zdravstva Ousmane Kone te voditelj UN-ove misije za borbu protiv ebole (UNMEER) u toj zemlji dr. Ibrahim Soce Fall.

"Od 6. prosinca 2014. kada je zabilježen posljednji novi bolesnik nije bilo novih oboljenja", rekao je Kone te naglasio da su "protekla 42 dana bez novih oboljenja".

Dr. Fall je istaknuo da se u skladu s preporukama Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije (WHO), širenje bolesti izazvane virusom ebole u nekoj zemlji proglašava završenim kada proteknu 42 dana bez ijedne novooboljele osobe.

Prvi slučaj ebole u Maliju bio je zabilježen 23. listopada, a virus je potekao iz susjedne Gvineje.

Ta zemlja iz koje je krajem prosinca 2013. krenula epidemija i dalje je jedna od najpogođenijih ebolom, uz Sijeru Leone i Liberiju.

Na te tri afričke zemlje otpada 99 posto svih žrtava ebole, njih 8.500, prema podacima WHO-a.

Epidemija opada te su gvinejske vlasti odlučile u ponedjeljak ponovno otvoriti škole i sveučilišta, s ukupno četiri mjeseca kašnjenja. U Liberiji su škole zatvorene od kraja srpnja i trebale bi se ponovno otvoriti 2. veljače.

Završetak epidemije u Maliju objavili su u nedjelju navečer u glavnome gradu Bamaku ministar zdravstva Ousmane Kone te voditelj UN-ove misije za borbu protiv ebole (UNMEER) u toj zemlji dr. Ibrahim Soce Fall.

"Od 6. prosinca 2014. kada je zabilježen posljednji novi bolesnik nije bilo novih oboljenja", rekao je Kone te naglasio da su "protekla 42 dana bez novih oboljenja".

Dr. Fall je istaknuo da se u skladu s preporukama Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije (WHO), širenje bolesti izazvane virusom ebole u nekoj zemlji proglašava završenim kada proteknu 42 dana bez ijedne novooboljele osobe.

Prvi slučaj ebole u Maliju bio je zabilježen 23. listopada, a virus je potekao iz susjedne Gvineje.

Ta zemlja iz koje je krajem prosinca 2013. krenula epidemija i dalje je jedna od najpogođenijih ebolom, uz Sijeru Leone i Liberiju.

Na te tri afričke zemlje otpada 99 posto svih žrtava ebole, njih 8.500, prema podacima WHO-a.

Epidemija opada te su gvinejske vlasti odlučile u ponedjeljak ponovno otvoriti škole i sveučilišta, s ukupno četiri mjeseca kašnjenja. U Liberiji su škole zatvorene od kraja srpnja i trebale bi se ponovno otvoriti 2. veljače.

Država Mali i misija Ujedinjenih naroda objavili su da je nakon 42 dana bez novih oboljenja završila epidemija ebole, a smanjuje se i u tri druge afričke zemlje najpogođenije epidemijom, među kojima je Gvineja koja u ponedjeljak ponovno otvara škole.
