Jeste li ikad čuli za Grmožur? Zovu ga još i crnogorski Alcatraz. Riječ je o kamenom otočiću na Skadarskom jezeru na kojem su bili zatočeni politički protivnici kralja Nikole. Ono što je kasnije Titu bio Goli otok, to je poznatom crnogorskom vladaru bio strašni Grmožur, na koji je zatvarao samo neplivače!   

Osmanlije su na tom otoku podignuli tvrđavu, a njezini se ostaci i danas vide. Tvrđava je izgrađena 1843. godine, a u ruke Crnogoraca pala je 1878., te je Grmožur postao tamnica u koju su se zatvarali osuđenici koji su počinili najteža kaznena djela.

U dvadesetom stoljeću, kralj Nikola će na Grmožuru zatočiti beogradske studente koji su pokušali izvesti atentat na njega. Nešto prije početka balkanskih ratova, Grmožur prestaje biti zatvorom, a 1905. oštećen je u snažnom potresu koji je pogodio Crnu Goru. Tvrđavu koju su podignuli Turci, točnije ono što je od nje ostalo, crnogorska država nikad nije obnovila.

Nakon zatvaranja tamnice Grmožur kod sela Godinja na Skadarskom jezeru, u Podgorici je utemeljen centralni zatvor "Jusovača".   

U predstavi "Dugo putovanje u Jevropu", beogradski student Lekić, koji je politički oponirao samovolji kralja Nikole, moli, nakon što ga je tiranin zatvorio, da ga poštedi odlaska na jezivi Grmožur: "Naredi da me ubiju, da me bace pod Lovćenski kam, samo nemoj na Grmožur, gospodaru."

Danas je otok Grmožur pretvoren u ornitološki rezervat. Riječ je o staništu određenih vrsta ptica i odmorištu prilikom njihovih migracija iz Europe prema Africi. Grmožur je jako poznat po pelikanima.

Jeste li ikad čuli za Grmožur? Zovu ga još i crnogorski Alcatraz. Riječ je o kamenom otočiću na Skadarskom jezeru na kojem su bili zatočeni politički protivnici kralja Nikole. Ono što je kasnije Titu bio Goli otok, to je poznatom crnogorskom vladaru bio strašni Grmožur, na koji je zatvarao samo neplivače!   

Osmanlije su na tom otoku podignuli tvrđavu, a njezini se ostaci i danas vide. Tvrđava je izgrađena 1843. godine, a u ruke Crnogoraca pala je 1878., te je Grmožur postao tamnica u koju su se zatvarali osuđenici koji su počinili najteža kaznena djela.

U dvadesetom stoljeću, kralj Nikola će na Grmožuru zatočiti beogradske studente koji su pokušali izvesti atentat na njega. Nešto prije početka balkanskih ratova, Grmožur prestaje biti zatvorom, a 1905. oštećen je u snažnom potresu koji je pogodio Crnu Goru. Tvrđavu koju su podignuli Turci, točnije ono što je od nje ostalo, crnogorska država nikad nije obnovila.

Nakon zatvaranja tamnice Grmožur kod sela Godinja na Skadarskom jezeru, u Podgorici je utemeljen centralni zatvor "Jusovača".   

U predstavi "Dugo putovanje u Jevropu", beogradski student Lekić, koji je politički oponirao samovolji kralja Nikole, moli, nakon što ga je tiranin zatvorio, da ga poštedi odlaska na jezivi Grmožur: "Naredi da me ubiju, da me bace pod Lovćenski kam, samo nemoj na Grmožur, gospodaru."

Danas je otok Grmožur pretvoren u ornitološki rezervat. Riječ je o staništu određenih vrsta ptica i odmorištu prilikom njihovih migracija iz Europe prema Africi. Grmožur je jako poznat po pelikanima.

Kad čuju za strašni Grmožur, otok na Skadarskom jezeru, Crnogorcima se i dandanas od straha ledi krv u žilama

Jeste li ikad čuli za Grmožur? Zovu ga još i crnogorski Alcatraz. Riječ je o kamenom otočiću na Skadarskom jezeru na kojem su bili zatočeni politički protivnici kralja Nikole. Ono što je kasnije Titu bio Goli otok, to je poznatom crnogorskom vladaru bio strašni Grmožur, na koji je zatvarao samo neplivače!   

Osmanlije su na tom otoku podignuli tvrđavu, a njezini se ostaci i danas vide. Tvrđava je izgrađena 1843. godine, a u ruke Crnogoraca pala je 1878., te je Grmožur postao tamnica u koju su se zatvarali osuđenici koji su počinili najteža kaznena djela.

U dvadesetom stoljeću, kralj Nikola će na Grmožuru zatočiti beogradske studente koji su pokušali izvesti atentat na njega. Nešto prije početka balkanskih ratova, Grmožur prestaje biti zatvorom, a 1905. oštećen je u snažnom potresu koji je pogodio Crnu Goru. Tvrđavu koju su podignuli Turci, točnije ono što je od nje ostalo, crnogorska država nikad nije obnovila.

Nakon zatvaranja tamnice Grmožur kod sela Godinja na Skadarskom jezeru, u Podgorici je utemeljen centralni zatvor "Jusovača".   

U predstavi "Dugo putovanje u Jevropu", beogradski student Lekić, koji je politički oponirao samovolji kralja Nikole, moli, nakon što ga je tiranin zatvorio, da ga poštedi odlaska na jezivi Grmožur: "Naredi da me ubiju, da me bace pod Lovćenski kam, samo nemoj na Grmožur, gospodaru."

Danas je otok Grmožur pretvoren u ornitološki rezervat. Riječ je o staništu određenih vrsta ptica i odmorištu prilikom njihovih migracija iz Europe prema Africi. Grmožur je jako poznat po pelikanima.
