Najbolja hrvatska tenisačica Jelena Pandžić plasirala se u drugo kolo drugog ovogodišnjeg Grand Slama, koji se igra na zemljanim terenima Pariza i time sebi priskrbila naziv prve “hrvatske suknjice”.
Splićanka je u prvom kolu Roland Garrosa bila bolja od francuske tenisačice Severine Bremond sa 4:6, 6:3, 6:2 i time ostvarila rezultat karijere. Ovom pobjedom naša tenisačica na najbolji mogući način se “osvetila” istoj suparnici za nedavni poraz u osmini finala 75.000 dolara vrijednog turnira u španjolskom Monzonu. Francuskinja je, da podsjetimo, nedavno bila i sudionica Makarska Opena.

Tako je u nešto više od godine dana Jelena stigla od igračice bez rankinga do najugodnijeg iznenađenja hrvatskog tenisa u posljednjih 365 dana. Podsjetimo, Jelena je nakon višegodišnje pauze od aktivnog igranja, zbog studija psihologije u Americi krenula sa nekoliko turnira niže kategorije upravo u SAD-u kako bi stekla pravo nastupanja na jačim turnirima. Kako je sama nedavno izjavila odlučila je nakon završenog studija u Americi okušati se u profesionalnim vodama i pružiti sebi priliku bez velikih imperativa.
Prvi turnir u Europi naša tenisačica odigrala je u četvrtom mjesecu ove godine, bila je to 50.000 dolara vrijedna grčka Patra gdje je ispala u prvom kolu glavnog turnira od Tzipi Obziler.
Diploma u jednoj, reket u drugoj ruci
No, demantirala je nekadašnja Stobrečanka sve one, koji nisu vjerovali u mogućnost njenog povratka, a najbolja nagrada za to bit će joj pozicija na WTA ljestvici, koja će već ovom pobjedom biti oko 143. mjesta. Što se samog meča tiče, Jelena je ponovno u susret ušla sa “sporim paljenjem”.
Nakon što je izgubila prvi set u preostala dva protivnici nije dala previše šanse i mirno je meč privela kraju. U nešto više od dva sata igre 25-godišnjakinja je sa odličnim postotkom prvog servisa (čak 72 posto) i dobrom igrom na mreži (15 od 19 osvojenih poena) stigla do drugog kola u kojem je očekuje pobjednica susreta između 14. nositeljice Agnieszke Radwanske i Marye Koryttseve.
Vrijedi spomenuti da iako je još rano za prognoze, plasman Jelene u osminu finala turnira vjerojatno bi joj donio i ulazak među sto najboljih tenisačica svijeta. S obzirom na njezin tenisački put možemo reći da ništa nije nemoguće pa tako i možebitni plasman na Olimpijske igre u Pekingu za koji bi trebalo stići do četvrtfinala Roland Garrosa.

Prvi dan francuske zemlje
Od ostalih rezultata vrijedi zabilježiti lagani prolaz prvog nositelja Rogera Federera protiv Amerikanca Sama Guerreya sa 3:0 (6:4, 6:4, 6:3), 12. nositelj Tommy Robredo izbacio je Argentinca Guillerma Coriu sa 3:1 u setovima (5:7, 6:4, 6:1, 6:4).
Još jedan nositelj, Marcos Baghdatis(17) oprostio se od Pariza. Bolji je bio Talijan Simone Bolleli (6:4, 6:4, 6:2). Kod djevojaka u drugo kolo plasirala se treća tenisaćica svijeta Jelena Janković sa 7:6 (3), 6:2 protiv Rumunjke Monice Nicolescu.

Najbolja hrvatska tenisačica Jelena Pandžić plasirala se u drugo kolo drugog ovogodišnjeg Grand Slama, koji se igra na zemljanim terenima Pariza i time sebi priskrbila naziv prve “hrvatske suknjice”.
Splićanka je u prvom kolu Roland Garrosa bila bolja od francuske tenisačice Severine Bremond sa 4:6, 6:3, 6:2 i time ostvarila rezultat karijere. Ovom pobjedom naša tenisačica na najbolji mogući način se “osvetila” istoj suparnici za nedavni poraz u osmini finala 75.000 dolara vrijednog turnira u španjolskom Monzonu. Francuskinja je, da podsjetimo, nedavno bila i sudionica Makarska Opena.

Tako je u nešto više od godine dana Jelena stigla od igračice bez rankinga do najugodnijeg iznenađenja hrvatskog tenisa u posljednjih 365 dana. Podsjetimo, Jelena je nakon višegodišnje pauze od aktivnog igranja, zbog studija psihologije u Americi krenula sa nekoliko turnira niže kategorije upravo u SAD-u kako bi stekla pravo nastupanja na jačim turnirima. Kako je sama nedavno izjavila odlučila je nakon završenog studija u Americi okušati se u profesionalnim vodama i pružiti sebi priliku bez velikih imperativa.
Prvi turnir u Europi naša tenisačica odigrala je u četvrtom mjesecu ove godine, bila je to 50.000 dolara vrijedna grčka Patra gdje je ispala u prvom kolu glavnog turnira od Tzipi Obziler.
Diploma u jednoj, reket u drugoj ruci
No, demantirala je nekadašnja Stobrečanka sve one, koji nisu vjerovali u mogućnost njenog povratka, a najbolja nagrada za to bit će joj pozicija na WTA ljestvici, koja će već ovom pobjedom biti oko 143. mjesta. Što se samog meča tiče, Jelena je ponovno u susret ušla sa “sporim paljenjem”.
Nakon što je izgubila prvi set u preostala dva protivnici nije dala previše šanse i mirno je meč privela kraju. U nešto više od dva sata igre 25-godišnjakinja je sa odličnim postotkom prvog servisa (čak 72 posto) i dobrom igrom na mreži (15 od 19 osvojenih poena) stigla do drugog kola u kojem je očekuje pobjednica susreta između 14. nositeljice Agnieszke Radwanske i Marye Koryttseve.
Vrijedi spomenuti da iako je još rano za prognoze, plasman Jelene u osminu finala turnira vjerojatno bi joj donio i ulazak među sto najboljih tenisačica svijeta. S obzirom na njezin tenisački put možemo reći da ništa nije nemoguće pa tako i možebitni plasman na Olimpijske igre u Pekingu za koji bi trebalo stići do četvrtfinala Roland Garrosa.

Prvi dan francuske zemlje
Od ostalih rezultata vrijedi zabilježiti lagani prolaz prvog nositelja Rogera Federera protiv Amerikanca Sama Guerreya sa 3:0 (6:4, 6:4, 6:3), 12. nositelj Tommy Robredo izbacio je Argentinca Guillerma Coriu sa 3:1 u setovima (5:7, 6:4, 6:1, 6:4).
Još jedan nositelj, Marcos Baghdatis(17) oprostio se od Pariza. Bolji je bio Talijan Simone Bolleli (6:4, 6:4, 6:2). Kod djevojaka u drugo kolo plasirala se treća tenisaćica svijeta Jelena Janković sa 7:6 (3), 6:2 protiv Rumunjke Monice Nicolescu.
