Rus Nikolaj Davidenko pobjednik je ATP Finala široj javnosti poznatijeg pod nazivom ‘Masters’ koji se ranije koristio. U finalu je Davidenko sa 6:3, 6:4 pobijedio Argentinca Juan Martin Del Potra.

Rus je trijumfom u londonskoj O2 areni zaradio 1.510.000 dolara te 1.300 ATP bodova, 200 manje od maksimalno mogućih 1.500 jer je u skupini izgubio meč prvog kola od Novaka Đokovića.

- I sebe sam prilično iznenadio jer sam osvojio turnir protiv najboljih, a ja sam se ovdje plasirao kao sedmi - rekao je nakon trijumfa Davidenko.

I prošle godine ruski je tenisač odlično igrao na ‘Mastersu’, ali ga je u finalu pobijedio Srbin Đoković. Sada je, kada je to malo tko očekivao, otišao još korak dalje te je u bogatoj riznici svojih trofeja dodao i ovaj londonski na kojemu je sudjelovalo osam od devet najboljih igrača svijeta.

Nedostajao je Amerikanac Andy Roddick zbog ozljede, no Šveđanin Robin Soderling bio je itekako dobra zamjena. Naslov iz Londona 19. je u Davidenkovoj karijeri i najveći do sada.

Naime, još ni jednom ruski majstor nije osvojio Grand Slam te mu to i dalje ostaje veliki cilj u karijeri. Tko zna? Možda se i njegova teniska priča završi na sličan način kao i ona Gorana Ivaniševića kada je čitav teniski svijet bacio na koljena osvajanjem Wimbledona kada se to najmanje očekivalo.

Sinonim za kladionice

Davidenko je dugo konstanta svjetskog tenisa. U Top 10 probio se u lipnju 2005. godine nakon polufinala Roland Garrosa i ‘unutra’ je sve do danas, uz kratko izbivanje od konca travnja do konca srpnja ove godine.

Posljednje dvije godine njegovo je ime gotovo postalo sinonim za kladioničarske afere u tenisu jer je njegov poraz od Argentinca Martina Vassalla Arguella u poljskom Sopotu 2007. godine dugo bio pod istragom ATP-a nakon što je kladioničarska kuća Betfair prijavila niz čudnih uplata na taj meč.

Ipak, Davidenko je oslobođen sumnje, a ove se godine konačno na miru mogao posvetiti tenisu. I to radi dobro. A što se doista događalo s kladionicama? Možda saznamo u budućnosti? Na ukoričenim stranicama poput onih Andrea Agassija.

Kladioničari

Rus Nikolaj Davidenko bio je favorit i po kladionicama. Del Potro je bolje rangiran, no kladioničari su dobro procijenili. Naime, na 100 uloženih kuna na pobjedu Rusa čista zarada je iznosila 50, a na pobjedu Del Potra 150 kuna!

Rus Nikolaj Davidenko pobjednik je ATP Finala široj javnosti poznatijeg pod nazivom ‘Masters’ koji se ranije koristio. U finalu je Davidenko sa 6:3, 6:4 pobijedio Argentinca Juan Martin Del Potra.

Rus je trijumfom u londonskoj O2 areni zaradio 1.510.000 dolara te 1.300 ATP bodova, 200 manje od maksimalno mogućih 1.500 jer je u skupini izgubio meč prvog kola od Novaka Đokovića.

- I sebe sam prilično iznenadio jer sam osvojio turnir protiv najboljih, a ja sam se ovdje plasirao kao sedmi - rekao je nakon trijumfa Davidenko.

I prošle godine ruski je tenisač odlično igrao na ‘Mastersu’, ali ga je u finalu pobijedio Srbin Đoković. Sada je, kada je to malo tko očekivao, otišao još korak dalje te je u bogatoj riznici svojih trofeja dodao i ovaj londonski na kojemu je sudjelovalo osam od devet najboljih igrača svijeta.

Nedostajao je Amerikanac Andy Roddick zbog ozljede, no Šveđanin Robin Soderling bio je itekako dobra zamjena. Naslov iz Londona 19. je u Davidenkovoj karijeri i najveći do sada.

Naime, još ni jednom ruski majstor nije osvojio Grand Slam te mu to i dalje ostaje veliki cilj u karijeri. Tko zna? Možda se i njegova teniska priča završi na sličan način kao i ona Gorana Ivaniševića kada je čitav teniski svijet bacio na koljena osvajanjem Wimbledona kada se to najmanje očekivalo.

Sinonim za kladionice

Davidenko je dugo konstanta svjetskog tenisa. U Top 10 probio se u lipnju 2005. godine nakon polufinala Roland Garrosa i ‘unutra’ je sve do danas, uz kratko izbivanje od konca travnja do konca srpnja ove godine.

Posljednje dvije godine njegovo je ime gotovo postalo sinonim za kladioničarske afere u tenisu jer je njegov poraz od Argentinca Martina Vassalla Arguella u poljskom Sopotu 2007. godine dugo bio pod istragom ATP-a nakon što je kladioničarska kuća Betfair prijavila niz čudnih uplata na taj meč.

Ipak, Davidenko je oslobođen sumnje, a ove se godine konačno na miru mogao posvetiti tenisu. I to radi dobro. A što se doista događalo s kladionicama? Možda saznamo u budućnosti? Na ukoričenim stranicama poput onih Andrea Agassija.

Rus Nikolaj Davidenko bio je favorit i po kladionicama. Del Potro je bolje rangiran, no kladioničari su dobro procijenili. Naime, na 100 uloženih kuna na pobjedu Rusa čista zarada je iznosila 50, a na pobjedu Del Potra 150 kuna!
