Gašenjem paraolimpijskog plamena na Olimpijskom stadionu u Tokiju i službeno su završene 16. ljetne Paraolimpijske igre na kojima je nastupilo rekordnih 4.537 sportaša iz 162 zemlje među kojima i 22 hrvatska paraolimpijca.

Hrvatski sportaši s invaliditetom nastupili su u rekordnih osam sportova osvojivši rekordnih sedam medalja - tri srebra i četiri bronce. Do sada su hrvatski paraolimpijci najviše medalja osvojili u Londonu (2012) i Rio de Janeiru (2016), po pet.

Bile su to sasvim sigurno najposebnije POI u povijesti. S godinom dana odgode zbog pandemije koronavirusa, ipak su održane u nevjerojatnim uvjetima, bez gledatelja i uz stroge epidemiološke protokole, uz silna testiranja svih sudionika u gradu u kojem vlada izvanredno stanje zbog rekordnih brojki zaraženih koronavirusom.

Međutim, nakon što su uspješno odrađene Olimpijske igre i Paraolimpijske su prošle bez većih problema. "Balon" je, uz sitne iznimke, izdržao. Organizatori su objavili kako je od 1. srpnja na oko milijun testova bilo je tek nešto više od 350 pozitivnih.

Tokio je tako ušao u povijest kao prvi grad na svijetu koji je dva puta održao ljetne OI i POI (1964, 2020).

Predsjednik Međunarodnog paraolimpijskog odbora (IPC) Andrew Parsons je istaknuo kako su "tokijske Igre nadmašile sva očekivanja".

"Bilo je fantastično, sportašima smo pružili sigurno okruženje, a istovremeno smo štitili i japansko stanovništva", poručio je Parsons, 44-godišnji Brazilac kojem su ovo bile prve ljetne POI otkako je 2017. preuzeo IPC.

Na sportskom terenu i ove su Igre ponudile bezbroj nevjerojatnih priča, emocija, radosti, ali i tuge. Bile su pokretač promjena za rušenje društvenih barijera diskriminacije za osobe s invaliditetom.

"Pružile su toliko emocija, to je snaga sporta. Ne postoji bolji alat za rehabilitaciju od sporta," zajednička je misao paraolimpijaca.

Koncept ceremonije zatvaranja Paraolimpijskih igara u Tokiju 2020 .bila je "Harmonična kakofonija".

Svijet inspiriran paraolimpijskim igrama, svijet u kojem sjaje razlike. U ovom se svijetu različita tijela, jedinstvene tehnologije i različiti materijali okupljaju kao skladna i šarena cjelina, ne kao jedna pomiješana boja.

Ono što se na prvi pogled čini kao početak kakofonije zapravo je rađanje novog sklada. Jer razlike ne stvaraju sukob, već rađaju novu budućnost, završna je misao ceremonije zatvaranja.

Na tradicionalnom mimohodu zastava sudionika POI, hrvatski stijeg nosio je paratekvondaš Ivan Mikulić koji je posljednjeg dana natjecanja osvojio srebro.

"Naš se put bliži kraju", kazala je predsjednica Organizacijskog odbora Seiko Hashimoto, poručivši paraolimpijcima kako su nadahnuli mnoge od nas.

"Nadahnuli ste mnoge od nas da krenemo na svoja nova putovanja. Dali ste nam uvid i moć da pogledamo sebe i oblikujemo svoju budućnost. Promjena počinje sviješću. Odlučni smo u izgradnji raznolike i inkluzivne budućnosti u kojoj ljudi prepoznaju i podržavaju međusobne razlike bez diskriminacije ili barijera bilo koje vrste. Sada idemo naprijed s obećanjem da će ta predanost biti katalizator društvenih promjena," naglasila je Hashimoto.

"Usprkos svemu, uspjeli smo," dodao je prvi čovjek IPC-a Andrew Parsons.

"Paraolimpijske igre u Tokiju 2020. nisu samo povijesne, već su bile i fantastične. U 12 čarobnih dana sportaši su svijetu dali samopouzdanje, sreću i nadu. Rušili su rekorde, grijali srca i otvarali umove," dodao je.

Zahvalio se glavnim dionicima u organizaciji Igara, nacionalnim paraolimpijskim odborima, međunarodnim federacijama, dužnosnicima, klasifikatorima i medijima, posebno istaknuvši volontere.

"Vi ste ponos svog naroda. Vaš entuzijazam, omotenashi donosili su energiju i strast svaki dan. Arigato svim volonterima."

Parsons je dodao kako ovo večeras ne treba gledati na završnu ceremoniju, već kao otvaranje prema svijetloj i uključivoj budućnosti.

"Nalazimo se na ključnom raskrižju našeg planeta, nijedna maska ​​ne može pokriti njegove nedostatke. Kroz "WeThe15" želimo nadograditi (osnivač IPC -a Sir Ludwig) Guttmannovo naslijeđe. Želimo pružiti globalni pokret koji javno vodi kampanju za vidljivost, pristupačnost i mogućnosti," istaknuo je Brazilac.

Paraolimpijska zastava sada je u rukama Pariza, domaćina sljedećih ljetnih POI 2024.  godine, a bit će to prvi put da se ljetne POI održavaju u Francuskoj.

Gašenjem paraolimpijskog plamena na Olimpijskom stadionu u Tokiju i službeno su završene 16. ljetne Paraolimpijske igre na kojima je nastupilo rekordnih 4.537 sportaša iz 162 zemlje među kojima i 22 hrvatska paraolimpijca.

Hrvatski sportaši s invaliditetom nastupili su u rekordnih osam sportova osvojivši rekordnih sedam medalja - tri srebra i četiri bronce. Do sada su hrvatski paraolimpijci najviše medalja osvojili u Londonu (2012) i Rio de Janeiru (2016), po pet.

Bile su to sasvim sigurno najposebnije POI u povijesti. S godinom dana odgode zbog pandemije koronavirusa, ipak su održane u nevjerojatnim uvjetima, bez gledatelja i uz stroge epidemiološke protokole, uz silna testiranja svih sudionika u gradu u kojem vlada izvanredno stanje zbog rekordnih brojki zaraženih koronavirusom.

Međutim, nakon što su uspješno odrađene Olimpijske igre i Paraolimpijske su prošle bez većih problema. "Balon" je, uz sitne iznimke, izdržao. Organizatori su objavili kako je od 1. srpnja na oko milijun testova bilo je tek nešto više od 350 pozitivnih.

Tokio je tako ušao u povijest kao prvi grad na svijetu koji je dva puta održao ljetne OI i POI (1964, 2020).

Predsjednik Međunarodnog paraolimpijskog odbora (IPC) Andrew Parsons je istaknuo kako su "tokijske Igre nadmašile sva očekivanja".

"Bilo je fantastično, sportašima smo pružili sigurno okruženje, a istovremeno smo štitili i japansko stanovništva", poručio je Parsons, 44-godišnji Brazilac kojem su ovo bile prve ljetne POI otkako je 2017. preuzeo IPC.

Na sportskom terenu i ove su Igre ponudile bezbroj nevjerojatnih priča, emocija, radosti, ali i tuge. Bile su pokretač promjena za rušenje društvenih barijera diskriminacije za osobe s invaliditetom.

"Pružile su toliko emocija, to je snaga sporta. Ne postoji bolji alat za rehabilitaciju od sporta," zajednička je misao paraolimpijaca.

Koncept ceremonije zatvaranja Paraolimpijskih igara u Tokiju 2020 .bila je "Harmonična kakofonija".

Svijet inspiriran paraolimpijskim igrama, svijet u kojem sjaje razlike. U ovom se svijetu različita tijela, jedinstvene tehnologije i različiti materijali okupljaju kao skladna i šarena cjelina, ne kao jedna pomiješana boja.

Ono što se na prvi pogled čini kao početak kakofonije zapravo je rađanje novog sklada. Jer razlike ne stvaraju sukob, već rađaju novu budućnost, završna je misao ceremonije zatvaranja.

Na tradicionalnom mimohodu zastava sudionika POI, hrvatski stijeg nosio je paratekvondaš Ivan Mikulić koji je posljednjeg dana natjecanja osvojio srebro.

"Naš se put bliži kraju", kazala je predsjednica Organizacijskog odbora Seiko Hashimoto, poručivši paraolimpijcima kako su nadahnuli mnoge od nas.

"Nadahnuli ste mnoge od nas da krenemo na svoja nova putovanja. Dali ste nam uvid i moć da pogledamo sebe i oblikujemo svoju budućnost. Promjena počinje sviješću. Odlučni smo u izgradnji raznolike i inkluzivne budućnosti u kojoj ljudi prepoznaju i podržavaju međusobne razlike bez diskriminacije ili barijera bilo koje vrste. Sada idemo naprijed s obećanjem da će ta predanost biti katalizator društvenih promjena," naglasila je Hashimoto.

"Usprkos svemu, uspjeli smo," dodao je prvi čovjek IPC-a Andrew Parsons.

"Paraolimpijske igre u Tokiju 2020. nisu samo povijesne, već su bile i fantastične. U 12 čarobnih dana sportaši su svijetu dali samopouzdanje, sreću i nadu. Rušili su rekorde, grijali srca i otvarali umove," dodao je.

Zahvalio se glavnim dionicima u organizaciji Igara, nacionalnim paraolimpijskim odborima, međunarodnim federacijama, dužnosnicima, klasifikatorima i medijima, posebno istaknuvši volontere.

"Vi ste ponos svog naroda. Vaš entuzijazam, omotenashi donosili su energiju i strast svaki dan. Arigato svim volonterima."

Parsons je dodao kako ovo večeras ne treba gledati na završnu ceremoniju, već kao otvaranje prema svijetloj i uključivoj budućnosti.

"Nalazimo se na ključnom raskrižju našeg planeta, nijedna maska ​​ne može pokriti njegove nedostatke. Kroz "WeThe15" želimo nadograditi (osnivač IPC -a Sir Ludwig) Guttmannovo naslijeđe. Želimo pružiti globalni pokret koji javno vodi kampanju za vidljivost, pristupačnost i mogućnosti," istaknuo je Brazilac.

Paraolimpijska zastava sada je u rukama Pariza, domaćina sljedećih ljetnih POI 2024.  godine, a bit će to prvi put da se ljetne POI održavaju u Francuskoj.
