Vodstvo sjevernoameričke Nacionalne hokejaške lige (NHL) odlučilo je da neće slati igrače na Zimske olimpijske igre u Pekingu, zbog zabrinutosti da bi se mogli zaraziti lako prenosivim "omikron" sojem koronavirusa, objavila je u utorak američki medijska kuća ESPN.

NHL je u rujnu pristao zaustaviti natjecanje kako bi najbolji svjetski igrači mogli nastupiti za svoje reprezentacije, ali uz klauzulu da taj dogovor može biti razvrgnut u slučaju da pandemija Covida-19 prouzroči odgode utakmica koje će biti prebačene u termin Olimpijskih igara u Pekingu.

Posljednjih dana je ta opcija postala sve izglednijom, jer su u NHL-u bili prisiljeni odgoditi čak 50 utakmica u Kanadi i SAD-u, nakon što je velik broj igrača, čak i onih cijepljenih, zaražen "omikron" sojem koronavirusa.

Prema pisanju ESPN-a NHL će u sljedeća 24 sata i službeno objaviti svoju odluku, iako su imali rok za poništenje dogovora bez ikakvih financijskih posljedica do 10. siječnja.

Iako su igrači u početku bili vrlo uzbuđeni zbog povratka na veliku međunarodnu scenu u dresu nacionalnih momčadi, njihov entuzijazam je počeo kopniti kad su saznali da bi potencijalni pozitivan rezultat na testiranju značio odlazak u trotjednu izolaciju i kašnjenje u povratku svojim obiteljima i klubovima.

Nakon što su NHL igrači sudjelovali na pet uzastopnih olimpijskih turnira, od Nagana 1998. do Sočija 2014., ovo će biti već druge Igre na kojima neće biti najboljih svjetskih hokejaša, kojih nije bilo ni u Pjeongčangu 2018.

Vodstvo sjevernoameričke Nacionalne hokejaške lige (NHL) odlučilo je da neće slati igrače na Zimske olimpijske igre u Pekingu, zbog zabrinutosti da bi se mogli zaraziti lako prenosivim "omikron" sojem koronavirusa, objavila je u utorak američki medijska kuća ESPN.

NHL je u rujnu pristao zaustaviti natjecanje kako bi najbolji svjetski igrači mogli nastupiti za svoje reprezentacije, ali uz klauzulu da taj dogovor može biti razvrgnut u slučaju da pandemija Covida-19 prouzroči odgode utakmica koje će biti prebačene u termin Olimpijskih igara u Pekingu.

Posljednjih dana je ta opcija postala sve izglednijom, jer su u NHL-u bili prisiljeni odgoditi čak 50 utakmica u Kanadi i SAD-u, nakon što je velik broj igrača, čak i onih cijepljenih, zaražen "omikron" sojem koronavirusa.

Prema pisanju ESPN-a NHL će u sljedeća 24 sata i službeno objaviti svoju odluku, iako su imali rok za poništenje dogovora bez ikakvih financijskih posljedica do 10. siječnja.

Iako su igrači u početku bili vrlo uzbuđeni zbog povratka na veliku međunarodnu scenu u dresu nacionalnih momčadi, njihov entuzijazam je počeo kopniti kad su saznali da bi potencijalni pozitivan rezultat na testiranju značio odlazak u trotjednu izolaciju i kašnjenje u povratku svojim obiteljima i klubovima.

Nakon što su NHL igrači sudjelovali na pet uzastopnih olimpijskih turnira, od Nagana 1998. do Sočija 2014., ovo će biti već druge Igre na kojima neće biti najboljih svjetskih hokejaša, kojih nije bilo ni u Pjeongčangu 2018.

Loše vijesti iz NHL-a: ipak bez najboljih hokejaša svijeta na ZOI u Pekingu

Vodstvo sjevernoameričke Nacionalne hokejaške lige (NHL) odlučilo je da neće slati igrače na Zimske olimpijske igre u Pekingu, zbog zabrinutosti da bi se mogli zaraziti lako prenosivim "omikron" sojem koronavirusa, objavila je u utorak američki medijska kuća ESPN.

NHL je u rujnu pristao zaustaviti natjecanje kako bi najbolji svjetski igrači mogli nastupiti za svoje reprezentacije, ali uz klauzulu da taj dogovor može biti razvrgnut u slučaju da pandemija Covida-19 prouzroči odgode utakmica koje će biti prebačene u termin Olimpijskih igara u Pekingu.

Posljednjih dana je ta opcija postala sve izglednijom, jer su u NHL-u bili prisiljeni odgoditi čak 50 utakmica u Kanadi i SAD-u, nakon što je velik broj igrača, čak i onih cijepljenih, zaražen "omikron" sojem koronavirusa.
