Treću pobjedu u nizu u regionalnoj ligi, šestu u zadnjih osam susreta u natjecanju, košarkaši Splita ostvarili su protiv favorizirane Cedevita Olimpije na Gripama rezultatom 93:85. Time su došli u realnu borbu za play off. Nije samo stvar ni uspješnog niza, pobjede broj 16 u zadnjih 18 susreta ‘žutih‘ u svim natjecanjima. Stvar je i do toga kako su do nje igrači Slavena Rimca došli.

Izuzev početnih par minuta Ljubljančani nijednom nisu vodili, usprkos ponovno sudačkim odlukama koje su ponovno izazivale ogorčenje u redovima splitskog sastava i publike, protiv triput skuplje momčadi koja je slagana za najviše ciljeve u natjecanju, za Eurocup, imao je Split i plus 18, bilo je 81:63. Odlična je to uvertira za završnicu Kupa Krešimira Ćosića na Gripama, za što se još čeka samo službena potvrda. U kojoj Split sanja prvi trofej poslije 20 godina.

Lewis Sullivan je svih svojih 13 poena zabio u zadnjih 11 minuta. Do tada je bio najlošiji, u završnici najbolji igrač na parketu. Tu je trenerski osjećaj pokazao Rimac. Više puta ove sezone znao bi trener Splita nekoga tko je ‘vruć‘ kasnije ‘zaboraviti‘ na klupi. Ovaj put nije odustajao od svog igrača. DJ Funderburk opet je bio dobar, 14 poena (trice 2/4). Mate Kalajžić dodao je isto toliko, ali je uz Tonija Perkovića, debitanta Vitu Kučića i uporno ‘terorizirao‘ sporije gostujuće bekove. No, prvo ime susreta opet je uvjerljivo bio Shorter. Statistika mu je pomalo ovaj put bila i neobična.

Zabio je iskusni Amerikanac 25 poena uz stopostotan šut za tricu 3/3, tome je dodao šest skokova, osam asistencija i – tri skleka. Da, dobro ste pročitali. U jednoj je akciji u želji da dođe do lopte prije protivnika izletio u aut pa se spotaknuo i pao. Kada je već bio na parketu na prsima, u toj pozi, na oduševljenje navijača, odradio je onako brzinski i tri skleka. Bio je takav moment. Nešto mu je ‘kliknulo‘ u glavi, puklo ga je i nasmijao je navijače potezom.

Ipak, šalu na stranu. Nakon klimavog ulaska u sezonu, promjene dva od tri stranca, Split je sa Shorterom i Sullivanom ‘kliknuo‘. No, i Rimac je bio potpuno u pravu kada je nakon susreta naglasio:

- Ne treba letjeti, moramo biti realni. Serija pobjeda je i stvar rasporeda, ali mislim da smo igrama i serijom pobjeda zaslužili više ljudi na tribinama.

Onih cca tisuću koji su uživo svjedočili ovom trijumfu ‘žutih‘, ali i generalno odličnoj utakmici nije zažalilo. Skandirali su ‘Shortyju‘, ‘Sullyju‘, odličnom debitantu Viti Kučiću. Idući ispit, ‘popravni‘ za dio navijača, Split ima u nedjelju navečer na Gripama u domaćoj Favbet Premijer ligi protiv Dubrave (19 sati).

Treću pobjedu u nizu u regionalnoj ligi, šestu u zadnjih osam susreta u natjecanju, košarkaši Splita ostvarili su protiv favorizirane Cedevita Olimpije na Gripama rezultatom 93:85. Time su došli u realnu borbu za play off. Nije samo stvar ni uspješnog niza, pobjede broj 16 u zadnjih 18 susreta ‘žutih‘ u svim natjecanjima. Stvar je i do toga kako su do nje igrači Slavena Rimca došli.

Izuzev početnih par minuta Ljubljančani nijednom nisu vodili, usprkos ponovno sudačkim odlukama koje su ponovno izazivale ogorčenje u redovima splitskog sastava i publike, protiv triput skuplje momčadi koja je slagana za najviše ciljeve u natjecanju, za Eurocup, imao je Split i plus 18, bilo je 81:63. Zabio je iskusni Amerikanac 25 poena uz stopostotan šut za tricu 3/3, tome je dodao šest skokova, osam asistencija i – tri skleka. Da, dobro ste pročitali. U jednoj je akciji u želji da dođe do lopte prije protivnika izletio u aut pa se spotaknuo i pao. Kada je već bio na parketu na prsima, u toj pozi, na oduševljenje navijača, odradio je onako brzinski i tri skleka. Bio je takav moment.
