Je li upitan nastup NK Varaždina u Europskoj ligi? Iako su nogometaši plasmanom u finale Hrvatskog nogometnog kupa ispunili sportski kriterij za nastup, krovna europska nogometna federacija UEFA Varaždincima će možda zabraniti nastup i to zbog - afere „Offside“!

Kao što je poznato, među osumnjičenima za namještanje utakmica 1. HNL u sklopu afere „Offside“ su i bivši nogometaši varaždinskog kluba Miljenko Mumlek, Zoran Ivančić i Andrija Balajić.

Prema Statutu krovne europske nogometne federacije iz 2007. godine, članak 50., stavak 3, UEFA može zabraniti nastup u svojim natjecanjima svim klubovima koji su izravno ili neizravno bili uključeni u namještanje utakmica u nacionalnom prvenstvu ili međunarodnim natjecanjima bez obzira na disciplinske mjere koje je klub poduzeo protiv sudionika namještanja.

Predsjednik NK Varaždina Zlatko Horvat rekao nam je da je klub poslao aplikaciju za nastup u Europskoj ligi UEFA-i te da je europska nogometna federacija tražila očitovanje kluba oko afere „Offside“.

- Odgovorili smo da klub nije osumnjičen za ništa i posebno naglasili da u trenutku izbijanja afere Mumlek, Balajić i Ivančić više nisu bili članovi kluba, odnosno da su im u tom trenutku ugovori s klubom bili istekli te da ih je klub odbio produžiti. Naglasili smo i da sudski proces još nije gotov te da naši bivši igrači nisu osumnjičeni za namještanje nego za pokušaj namještanja utakmica. Očekujemo pozitivan odgovor UEFA-e i spremamo se za ždrijeb koji je na rasporedu 20. lipnja - istaknuo je predsjednik kluba Zlatko Horvat.

Je li upitan nastup NK Varaždina u Europskoj ligi? Iako su nogometaši plasmanom u finale Hrvatskog nogometnog kupa ispunili sportski kriterij za nastup, krovna europska nogometna federacija UEFA Varaždincima će možda zabraniti nastup i to zbog - afere „Offside“!

Kao što je poznato, među osumnjičenima za namještanje utakmica 1. HNL u sklopu afere „Offside“ su i bivši nogometaši varaždinskog kluba Miljenko Mumlek, Zoran Ivančić i Andrija Balajić.

Prema Statutu krovne europske nogometne federacije iz 2007. godine, članak 50., stavak 3, UEFA može zabraniti nastup u svojim natjecanjima svim klubovima koji su izravno ili neizravno bili uključeni u namještanje utakmica u nacionalnom prvenstvu ili međunarodnim natjecanjima bez obzira na disciplinske mjere koje je klub poduzeo protiv sudionika namještanja.

Predsjednik NK Varaždina Zlatko Horvat rekao nam je da je klub poslao aplikaciju za nastup u Europskoj ligi UEFA-i te da je europska nogometna federacija tražila očitovanje kluba oko afere „Offside“.

- Odgovorili smo da klub nije osumnjičen za ništa i posebno naglasili da u trenutku izbijanja afere Mumlek, Balajić i Ivančić više nisu bili članovi kluba, odnosno da su im u tom trenutku ugovori s klubom bili istekli te da ih je klub odbio produžiti. Naglasili smo i da sudski proces još nije gotov te da naši bivši igrači nisu osumnjičeni za namještanje nego za pokušaj namještanja utakmica. Očekujemo pozitivan odgovor UEFA-e i spremamo se za ždrijeb koji je na rasporedu 20. lipnja - istaknuo je predsjednik kluba Zlatko Horvat.
