Od izbijanja COVID-a znanstvenici su tražili druge opasne viruse koji bi mogli izazvati sljedeću pandemiju.
Sljedeća pandemija mogla bi doći od milijun neotkrivenih virusa i biti smrtonosnija od COVID-a, upozoravaju tvorci cjepiva, Kate Bingham i Tim Hames. Tvrde da bi izbijanje virusa moglo ubiti do 50 milijuna ljudi, baš poput španjolske gripe.
U svojoj novoj knjizi dvojac je objasnio kako bi mogao izgledati tijek sljedeće pandemije te su izdali oštro upozorenje, prenosi Dnevnik.hr.
"Pandemija gripe 1918-1919. ubila je najmanje 50 milijuna ljudi diljem svijeta, dvostruko više nego što ih je ubijeno u Prvom svjetskom ratu. Danas bismo mogli očekivati sličan broj smrtnih slučajeva od jednog od mnogih virusa koji već postoje", rekli su i dodali kako postoji više virusa koji se brzo repliciraju i mutiraju brže nego svi drugi oblici života na našem planetu zajedno.
"Do sada su znanstvenici upoznati s 25 obitelji virusa, a svaka od njih uključuje stotine ili tisuće različitih virusa, od kojih bi svaki mogao evoluirati da izazove pandemiju", rekli su Bingham i Hames.
"Što je još gore, procjenjuje se da bi moglo postojati više od milijun neotkrivenih virusa koji bi mogli skakati s jedne vrste na drugu, dramatično mutirati i ubiti milijune ljudi", dodaju.
Dvoje autora tvrdi da je svijet donekle imao "sreće" s pandemijom COVID-a, unatoč tome što je virus ubio oko 20 milijuna ljudi.
"Poanta je da se velika većina ljudi zaraženih virusom uspjela oporaviti", rekli su.
Jophn McCauley, član Globalnog sustava nadzora i odgovora na influencu Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije, upozorio je da bi sljedeću pandemiju mogla uzrokovati strašna španjolska gripa.
Od izbijanja COVID-a znanstvenici su tražili druge opasne viruse koji bi mogli izazvati sljedeću pandemiju - što bi moglo dovesti do "broja slučajeva i smrtnih slučajeva sličnih španjolskoj gripi".
Dr. McCauley, direktor Svjetskog centra za gripu, rekao je da je jedna od njegovih najvećih briga sezonska gripa. Upozorio je da će buduća pandemija vjerojatno doći od soja gripe.

Od izbijanja COVID-a znanstvenici su tražili druge opasne viruse koji bi mogli izazvati sljedeću pandemiju.
Sljedeća pandemija mogla bi doći od milijun neotkrivenih virusa i biti smrtonosnija od COVID-a, upozoravaju tvorci cjepiva, Kate Bingham i Tim Hames. Tvrde da bi izbijanje virusa moglo ubiti do 50 milijuna ljudi, baš poput španjolske gripe.
U svojoj novoj knjizi dvojac je objasnio kako bi mogao izgledati tijek sljedeće pandemije te su izdali oštro upozorenje, prenosi Dnevnik.hr.
"Pandemija gripe 1918-1919. ubila je najmanje 50 milijuna ljudi diljem svijeta, dvostruko više nego što ih je ubijeno u Prvom svjetskom ratu. Danas bismo mogli očekivati sličan broj smrtnih slučajeva od jednog od mnogih virusa koji već postoje", rekli su i dodali kako postoji više virusa koji se brzo repliciraju i mutiraju brže nego svi drugi oblici života na našem planetu zajedno.
"Do sada su znanstvenici upoznati s 25 obitelji virusa, a svaka od njih uključuje stotine ili tisuće različitih virusa, od kojih bi svaki mogao evoluirati da izazove pandemiju", rekli su Bingham i Hames.
"Što je još gore, procjenjuje se da bi moglo postojati više od milijun neotkrivenih virusa koji bi mogli skakati s jedne vrste na drugu, dramatično mutirati i ubiti milijune ljudi", dodaju.
Dvoje autora tvrdi da je svijet donekle imao "sreće" s pandemijom COVID-a, unatoč tome što je virus ubio oko 20 milijuna ljudi.
"Poanta je da se velika većina ljudi zaraženih virusom uspjela oporaviti", rekli su.
Jophn McCauley, član Globalnog sustava nadzora i odgovora na influencu Svjetske zdravstvene organizacije, upozorio je da bi sljedeću pandemiju mogla uzrokovati strašna španjolska gripa.
Od izbijanja COVID-a znanstvenici su tražili druge opasne viruse koji bi mogli izazvati sljedeću pandemiju - što bi moglo dovesti do "broja slučajeva i smrtnih slučajeva sličnih španjolskoj gripi".
Dr. McCauley, direktor Svjetskog centra za gripu, rekao je da je jedna od njegovih najvećih briga sezonska gripa. Upozorio je da će buduća pandemija vjerojatno doći od soja gripe.
COVID mjere poput socijalnog distanciranja i redovitog pranja ruku pridonijele su jednoj od najnižih cirkulacija gripe u više od jednog stoljeća, rekao je. Ali uobičajeni virusi poput sezonske gripe mogli bi biti puno opasniji u svijetu nakon pandemije.
“Nije pitanje hoćemo li imati još jednu pandemiju, nego kada", rekla je.
