Kompanija koja se bavi prijevozom suhih rasutih tereta Berge Bulk opremila je svoj Newcastlemax bulker, Berge Olympus, s četiri jedra BARTech WindWing tvrtke Yara Marine Technologies. Time je Berge Olympus postao “najsnažniji teretni jedrenjak na svijetu”, prenosi Pomorac.hr.

Zahvaljujući četiri instalirana WindWinga, od kojih je svaki visok 37,5 metara i širok 20 metara, Berge Olympus trebao bi uštedjeti 6 tona goriva dnevno. Niža potrošnja goriva trebala bi dovesti do smanjenja emisija CO2 za približno 19,5 tona dnevno.

Ukupna površina četiri jedra iznosi 3.000 m2, što je čak preko tri puta veće od površine krila aviona A380 (843 m2).

Berge Bulk najavio je svoju odluku opremanja bulkera jedrima još u lipnju 2022. godine. Cilj im je optimizacijom ruta i uz pomoć snage vjetra smanjiti emisije CO2 do 30%, prenosi Offshore Energy.

Imajući na umu uštedu goriva i smanjenje CO2, Berge Bulk navodi da razmatra ugraditi WindWings na više svojih plovila koja plove na rutama s povoljnim uvjetima vjetra.

“Mi u Berge Bulk neprestano nastojimo poboljšati svoju učinkovitost i smanjiti utjecaj naše postojeće flote na okoliš. Od 2008. do danas postigli smo izvanredan rezultat – smanjenje emisija CO2 od 46% po tonskoj milji, čime smo već premašili cilj IMO-a za smanjenje intenziteta emisija ugljika do 2030.”, rekao je James Marshall, glavni izvršni direktor Berge Bulk.

“Još uvijek imamo dosta posla dok prelazimo na nove vrste pogona. Zato smo ponosni na partnerstvo s tvrtkama BAR Technologies i Yara Marine Technologies kako bismo među prvima testirali WindWing sustav. Berge Olympus dokaz je inovativnosti i održivosti.”

Instalacija WindWings dio je plana Berge Bulka za postizanje ugljične neutralnosti do 2025. godine. Četiri temelja plana su poboljšanje učinkovitosti flote, korištenje najnovije pomorske tehnologije, uvođenje novih goriva i ulaganje u hvatanje ugljika. U najnovijim projektima, Berge Bulk se udružio s velikim kompanijama kako bi istražio prednosti biogoriva i metanola kao brodskog goriva.

“Neizmjerno smo ponosni što predvodimo tehnologiju pogona snagom vjetra kroz razvoj WindWingsa te kroz našu zajedničku viziju s Berge Bulkom o najsnažnijem teretnom jedrenjaku na svijetu”, rekao je John Cooper, glavni izvršni direktor, BAR Technologies.

Uz jedra, Berge Olympus je naknadno opremljen novim osovinskim generatorom, kojeg pokreće glavni motor za opskrbu broda električnom energijom, čime se štedi gorivo i smanjuju emisije. S kapacitetom od 1 MW, dizajniran je da eliminira potrebu za radom pomoćnih motora.

Berge Olympus će ploviti između Brazila i Kine – trgovačke rute poznate po povoljnim uvjetima vjetra.

Podsjetimo, u kolovozu je isplovio Pyxis Ocean, Kamsarmax u vlasništvu Mitsubishi Corporationa, u charteru za Cargill, nakon što je opremljen s dva WindWinga koje je razvio BAR Technologies. Instalacija jedara obavljena je u COSCO-vom brodogradilištu u Kini, a očekuje se da će sustav omogućiti uštedu od 3 tone goriva dnevno.

Kompanija koja se bavi prijevozom suhih rasutih tereta Berge Bulk opremila je svoj Newcastlemax bulker, Berge Olympus, s četiri jedra BARTech WindWing tvrtke Yara Marine Technologies. Time je Berge Olympus postao “najsnažniji teretni jedrenjak na svijetu”, prenosi Pomorac.hr.

Zahvaljujući četiri instalirana WindWinga, od kojih je svaki visok 37,5 metara i širok 20 metara, Berge Olympus trebao bi uštedjeti 6 tona goriva dnevno. Niža potrošnja goriva trebala bi dovesti do smanjenja emisija CO2 za približno 19,5 tona dnevno.

Ukupna površina četiri jedra iznosi 3.000 m2, što je čak preko tri puta veće od površine krila aviona A380 (843 m2).

Berge Bulk najavio je svoju odluku opremanja bulkera jedrima još u lipnju 2022. godine. Cilj im je optimizacijom ruta i uz pomoć snage vjetra smanjiti emisije CO2 do 30%, prenosi Offshore Energy.

Imajući na umu uštedu goriva i smanjenje CO2, Berge Bulk navodi da razmatra ugraditi WindWings na više svojih plovila koja plove na rutama s povoljnim uvjetima vjetra.

“Mi u Berge Bulk neprestano nastojimo poboljšati svoju učinkovitost i smanjiti utjecaj naše postojeće flote na okoliš. Instalacija WindWings dio je plana Berge Bulka za postizanje ugljične neutralnosti do 2025. godine. Četiri temelja plana su poboljšanje učinkovitosti flote, korištenje najnovije pomorske tehnologije, uvođenje novih goriva i ulaganje u hvatanje ugljika. U najnovijim projektima, Berge Bulk se udružio s velikim kompanijama kako bi istražio prednosti biogoriva i metanola kao brodskog goriva.

Uz jedra, Berge Olympus je naknadno opremljen novim osovinskim generatorom, kojeg pokreće glavni motor za opskrbu broda električnom energijom, čime se štedi gorivo i smanjuju emisije. S kapacitetom od 1 MW, dizajniran je da eliminira potrebu za radom pomoćnih motora.

Berge Olympus će ploviti između Brazila i Kine – trgovačke rute poznate po povoljnim uvjetima vjetra.

Podsjetimo, u kolovozu je isplovio Pyxis Ocean, Kamsarmax u vlasništvu Mitsubishi Corporationa, u charteru za Cargill, nakon što je opremljen s dva WindWinga koje je razvio BAR Technologies. Instalacija jedara obavljena je u COSCO-vom brodogradilištu u Kini, a očekuje se da će sustav omogućiti uštedu od 3 tone goriva dnevno.

Berge OlympusZaplovio ‘najsnažniji teretni jedrenjak na svijetu‘, uštedjet će čak šest tona goriva dnevno

Kompanija koja se bavi prijevozom suhih rasutih tereta Berge Bulk opremila je svoj Newcastlemax bulker, Berge Olympus, s četiri jedra BARTech WindWing tvrtke Yara Marine Technologies. Time je Berge Olympus postao “najsnažniji teretni jedrenjak na svijetu”, prenosi Pomorac.hr.

Zahvaljujući četiri instalirana WindWinga, od kojih je svaki visok 37,5 metara i širok 20 metara, Berge Olympus trebao bi uštedjeti 6 tona goriva dnevno. Niža potrošnja goriva trebala bi dovesti do smanjenja emisija CO2 za približno 19,5 tona dnevno.

Ukupna površina četiri jedra iznosi 3.000 m2, što je čak preko tri puta veće od površine krila aviona A380 (843 m2).

Berge Bulk najavio je svoju odluku opremanja bulkera jedrima još u lipnju 2022. godine. Cilj im je optimizacijom ruta i uz pomoć snage vjetra smanjiti emisije CO2 do 30%, prenosi Offshore Energy.

Imajući na umu uštedu goriva i smanjenje CO2, Berge Bulk navodi da razmatra ugraditi WindWings na više svojih plovila koja plove na rutama s povoljnim uvjetima vjetra.
