U Muzeju grada Splita, u Galeriji Emanuela Vidović, otvorena je izložba pod nazivom "Dunav Rendić – slikar i boem".

Izložba po prvi put predstavlja opus gotovo zaboravljenog, a nekada vrlo popularnog slikara Dunava Rendića (Zagreb, 1880. – Split, 1944.), sina čuvenog kipara Ivana Rendića, koji je u međuratnom Splitu živio boemskim životom. Nastojeći zaraditi za život, slikao je portrete po narudžbi koji otkrivaju njegov umjetnički talent, a najveći dio njegova kvalitetom neujednačenog opusa su splitske i dalmatinske vedute, marine, ribarske brodice i jedrenjaci, koje je prodavao turistima i prolaznicima na ulicama brojnih gradova – Splita, Šibenika, Zagreba, Sarajeva, Livna, Mostara.

Unatoč odstupanjima u kvaliteti koja su posljedica hiperprodukcije, brzine izrade, nedostatka akademskog obrazovanja, neki motivi splitske luke, Lučke kapetanije, Sustipana, izdvajaju se i upućuju na tradiciju koja se nastavlja na slikarstvo Emanuela Vidovića, ali okupano svjetlošću.

Splitska likovna scena međuraća bila je, kao i hrvatska likovna scena, dovoljno pluralistička da u svoje okrilje prihvati i stvaralaštvo Dunava Rendića, ali Dunaj je izabrao svoj put određen slobodom, hedonizmom, boemštinom, skromnošću i odustajanjem od osjećaja pripadnosti, velike umjetnosti i velikih ciljeva.

Izložbom se predstavlja presjek slikareva umjetničkog djelovanja na temelju dostupnih djela, manjim dijelom iz muzejskih institucija, a većinom u privatnom vlasništvu, među kojima je najviše slika iz tridesetih godina 20. stoljeća, dok su djela iz ranijeg razdoblja većinom ostala nepoznata.

Organizator izložbe je Muzej grada Splita. Autorice izložbe su dr. sc. Sandi Bulimbašić i dr. sc. Darija Alujević, kustosica izložbe je Petra Dajak Belas.

U Muzeju grada Splita, u Galeriji Emanuela Vidović, otvorena je izložba pod nazivom "Dunav Rendić – slikar i boem".

Izložba po prvi put predstavlja opus gotovo zaboravljenog, a nekada vrlo popularnog slikara Dunava Rendića (Zagreb, 1880. – Split, 1944.), sina čuvenog kipara Ivana Rendića, koji je u međuratnom Splitu živio boemskim životom. Nastojeći zaraditi za život, slikao je portrete po narudžbi koji otkrivaju njegov umjetnički talent, a najveći dio njegova kvalitetom neujednačenog opusa su splitske i dalmatinske vedute, marine, ribarske brodice i jedrenjaci, koje je prodavao turistima i prolaznicima na ulicama brojnih gradova – Splita, Šibenika, Zagreba, Sarajeva, Livna, Mostara.

Unatoč odstupanjima u kvaliteti koja su posljedica hiperprodukcije, brzine izrade, nedostatka akademskog obrazovanja, neki motivi splitske luke, Lučke kapetanije, Sustipana, izdvajaju se i upućuju na tradiciju koja se nastavlja na slikarstvo Emanuela Vidovića, ali okupano svjetlošću.

Splitska likovna scena međuraća bila je, kao i hrvatska likovna scena, dovoljno pluralistička da u svoje okrilje prihvati i stvaralaštvo Dunava Rendića, ali Dunaj je izabrao svoj put određen slobodom, hedonizmom, boemštinom, skromnošću i odustajanjem od osjećaja pripadnosti, velike umjetnosti i velikih ciljeva.

Izložbom se predstavlja presjek slikareva umjetničkog djelovanja na temelju dostupnih djela, manjim dijelom iz muzejskih institucija, a većinom u privatnom vlasništvu, među kojima je najviše slika iz tridesetih godina 20. stoljeća, dok su djela iz ranijeg razdoblja većinom ostala nepoznata.
