U prosincu 1929. američki grad Tacoma (država Washington) je zbog dugog sušnog razdoblja i nestašice vode koja je pokretala hidrocentrale imao velike probleme u opskrbi električnom energijom.

Ljude su s posla slali kućama, dućani nisu radili.

Pomoć gradu u mraku je došla s mora: mornarica je poslala nosač aviona USS Lexington koji je u Tacomu uplovio 17. prosinca. Kada je brod ušao u luku, počele su padati i obilne kiše, koje su za mjesec dana napunile vodotokove i akumulacijska jezera. 

USS Lexington, kojeg su građani Tacome od milja prozvali Lex, isplovio je 16. siječnja 1930. godine.

Mjesec dana je uz pomoć svojih generatora proizvodio oko 25 posto uobičajene električne potrošnje grada.

U prosincu 1929. američki grad Tacoma (država Washington) je zbog dugog sušnog razdoblja i nestašice vode koja je pokretala hidrocentrale imao velike probleme u opskrbi električnom energijom.

Ljude su s posla slali kućama, dućani nisu radili.

Pomoć gradu u mraku je došla s mora: mornarica je poslala nosač aviona USS Lexington koji je u Tacomu uplovio 17. prosinca. Kada je brod ušao u luku, počele su padati i obilne kiše, koje su za mjesec dana napunile vodotokove i akumulacijska jezera. 

USS Lexington, kojeg su građani Tacome od milja prozvali Lex, isplovio je 16. siječnja 1930. godine.

Mjesec dana je uz pomoć svojih generatora proizvodio oko 25 posto uobičajene električne potrošnje grada.
