Neprofitna organizacija GLIDE ima proračun od približno 18 milijuna dolara. Svake godine poslužuje više od 850.000 besplatnih obroka za siromašne, osigurava krov nad glavom beskućnicima i vodi zdravstvenu ustanovu u gradu koji je među američkim rekorderima po društvenim nejednakostima.

Buffett je jedan od najvećih filantropa na svijetu. Pokrenuo je 2010. organizaciju The Giving Pledge kojoj je pristupilo više od 100 milijardera iz cijelog svijeta. Obvezali su se donirati polovicu svoga bogatstva tijekom života ili nakon smrti.
