Kažu da je Via Adriatica nešto najljepše što Hrvatska ima, a u to se iz dana u dan uvjerava i Damir Šimunić, 44-godišnji Karlovčanin koji upravo prelazi ovu 1100 kilometara dugu planinsku stazu koja se proteže od Prevlake na jugu Hrvatske do rta Kamenjak u Istri.
Ovaj planinar hoda s protetičkim pomagalom na nozi izazivajući posebno divljenje javnosti jer je Via Adriaticu naumio prohodati u komadu s čvrstom željom da potakne druge da premoste sve prepreke i prepuste se zagrljaju prirode. Bit će, vjerujemo, prva osoba s invaliditetom, koja je prošla Via Adriaticu koja pak prolazi preko 14 planina, 12 rijeka, 2 jezera i 18 zaštićenih područja.
Naš je to Pacific Crest Trail, naš Camino de Santiago, zapravo posve osobni put kojim se usude prijeći samo najuporniji, najhrabriji svjesni izlaska iz zone komfora i ulaska u nepoznato gdje priroda diktira svoje, a na čovjeku je da se prilagodi.
Via Adriaticu do sada je u cjelini prošlo tek petero ljudi. Zadnjeg dana svibnja od Prevlake put Istre krenuo je Branko Kraševac Kraš, tajnik PD "Stubaki", planinar i polumaratonac. U suprotnom smjeru, s namjerom da prijeđe par dionica, krenula je jedna samozatajna Melita, a Damir je na stazi već mjesec dana.
Biokovo, Kozjak, Perun...
Proteklih dana prošao je Biokovo, Kozjak, Perun, svratio do Splita, pa put Svilaje i Dinare, pa se nakratko zaustavio u Kninu sklonivši se od vremenskih nepogoda. Na čitavom putu dugom 1100 kilometara čeka ga ukupna visinska razlika od 41 tisuću metara. Zahtjevan je to put za svakoga posebice za osobu s protezom zbog koje treba paziti na opterećenje. Ništa preko 23 kilograma.
Damir je kao 32-godišnji pirotehničar izgubio lijevo stopalo tijekom razminiranja u bivšoj karlovačkoj vojarni. Preko Ottobock Adrie, tvrtke koja proizvodi protetička i ortotička pomagala za ljude s invaliditetom, dobio je protezu i zahvaljujući svom neumornom upornom duhu, nastavio živjeti punim plućima planinareći po Hrvatskoj, ali i po Aziji i Africi. Zaljubljenik u prirodu, Damir puno boravi vani...No, Via Adriatica bila mu je poseban izazov.
- Plan je bio da odem na Madagaskar. No, dogodila se korona i planovi su se promijenili. Via Adriatica prekrasan je izazov o kojem dugo razmišljam. I evo me tu, na tim prelijepim stazama. Svaki njen dio je poseban. Ipak, dojmio me se put od Lokvi preko Šćirovca. Imao sam sreću to proći prije jakih naleta biokovske bure - priča nam Damir.
Put kojim prolazi prepun je prepreka i nepredvidivih situacija. Vrijeme je prevrtljivo, staze tehnički jako zahtjevne, treba misliti na vodu, hranu, spavanje...
- Ranoranilac sam pa krećem oko 5 ujutro. Mogu hodati čitav dan svojim tempom, a jesti tek navečer. Nosim obavezno šest litara vode, suhu hranu: sir, pancetu, te elektrolite. Nekad prođem više, nekad manje, ne opretećujem se ničim. Svi ti ljudi vezani uz Via Adriaticu čine vrijednost te staze. Stazu doživljavate kroz sve te ljude koje srećete na putu. Oni vas dignu i kad ste najlošije volje, od njih se opraštate s osmijehom. Dočekaju vas s hladnom pivom, s toplim obrokom, nude vam noćenje...Ta njihova velika srca čine tu stazu čudesnom, uz svu tu prirodnu ljepotu koju doživite - kaže Damir, nabrajajući nam imena 'trail angela', volontera iz planinarskih društava, HGSS-a, planinskih entuzijasta koji dočekuju umorne hodače na putu.
Pomicanje granica
Pitamo ga za motive njegovog puta, jer ostaviti sve na dva mjeseca i hodati planinama ne može baš svatko.
- Volim putovati i to na neka mjesta koja nisu popularna za šire mase. To je moja želja iz djetinjstva i sad je mogu realizirati. Želja mi je da prođem stazu i potaknem druge da se okrenu prirodi. Žao mi je kad vidim da ljudi ne poznaju prirodu, gube vrijeme u trgovačkim centrima, zatvaraju se u četiri zida umjesto da upoznaju ljepotu oko sebe. Za ovako nešto treba biti spreman fizički, ali najviše mentalno. Na ovakvom putu se morate nositi sami sa sobom, suočavati se sa svojim strahovima i dilemama, a to nije lako. Osobno dobro podnosim samoću. Ovaj put me iznova podsjeća da su ljudske mogućnosti velike, da možemo pomicati vlastite granice, da možemo puno - poručuje ovaj mladi čovjek.

Kažu da je Via Adriatica nešto najljepše što Hrvatska ima, a u to se iz dana u dan uvjerava i Damir Šimunić, 44-godišnji Karlovčanin koji upravo prelazi ovu 1100 kilometara dugu planinsku stazu koja se proteže od Prevlake na jugu Hrvatske do rta Kamenjak u Istri.
Ovaj planinar hoda s protetičkim pomagalom na nozi izazivajući posebno divljenje javnosti jer je Via Adriaticu naumio prohodati u komadu s čvrstom željom da potakne druge da premoste sve prepreke i prepuste se zagrljaju prirode. Bit će, vjerujemo, prva osoba s invaliditetom, koja je prošla Via Adriaticu koja pak prolazi preko 14 planina, 12 rijeka, 2 jezera i 18 zaštićenih područja.
Naš je to Pacific Crest Trail, naš Camino de Santiago, zapravo posve osobni put kojim se usude prijeći samo najuporniji, najhrabriji svjesni izlaska iz zone komfora i ulaska u nepoznato gdje priroda diktira svoje, a na čovjeku je da se prilagodi.
Via Adriaticu do sada je u cjelini prošlo tek petero ljudi. Zadnjeg dana svibnja od Prevlake put Istre krenuo je Branko Kraševac Kraš, tajnik PD "Stubaki", planinar i polumaratonac. U suprotnom smjeru, s namjerom da prijeđe par dionica, krenula je jedna samozatajna Melita, a Damir je na stazi već mjesec dana.
Biokovo, Kozjak, Perun...
Proteklih dana prošao je Biokovo, Kozjak, Perun, svratio do Splita, pa put Svilaje i Dinare, pa se nakratko zaustavio u Kninu sklonivši se od vremenskih nepogoda. Na čitavom putu dugom 1100 kilometara čeka ga ukupna visinska razlika od 41 tisuću metara. Zahtjevan je to put za svakoga posebice za osobu s protezom zbog koje treba paziti na opterećenje. Ništa preko 23 kilograma.
Damir je kao 32-godišnji pirotehničar izgubio lijevo stopalo tijekom razminiranja u bivšoj karlovačkoj vojarni. Preko Ottobock Adrie, tvrtke koja proizvodi protetička i ortotička pomagala za ljude s invaliditetom, dobio je protezu i zahvaljujući svom neumornom upornom duhu, nastavio živjeti punim plućima planinareći po Hrvatskoj, ali i po Aziji i Africi. Zaljubljenik u prirodu, Damir puno boravi vani...No, Via Adriatica bila mu je poseban izazov.
- Plan je bio da odem na Madagaskar. No, dogodila se korona i planovi su se promijenili. Via Adriatica prekrasan je izazov o kojem dugo razmišljam. I evo me tu, na tim prelijepim stazama. Svaki njen dio je poseban. Ipak, dojmio me se put od Lokvi preko Šćirovca. Imao sam sreću to proći prije jakih naleta biokovske bure - priča nam Damir.
Put kojim prolazi prepun je prepreka i nepredvidivih situacija. Vrijeme je prevrtljivo, staze tehnički jako zahtjevne, treba misliti na vodu, hranu, spavanje...
- Ranoranilac sam pa krećem oko 5 ujutro. Mogu hodati čitav dan svojim tempom, a jesti tek navečer. Nosim obavezno šest litara vode, suhu hranu: sir, pancetu, te elektrolite. Nekad prođem više, nekad manje, ne opretećujem se ničim. Svi ti ljudi vezani uz Via Adriaticu čine vrijednost te staze. Stazu doživljavate kroz sve te ljude koje srećete na putu. Oni vas dignu i kad ste najlošije volje, od njih se opraštate s osmijehom. Dočekaju vas s hladnom pivom, s toplim obrokom, nude vam noćenje...Ta njihova velika srca čine tu stazu čudesnom, uz svu tu prirodnu ljepotu koju doživite - kaže Damir, nabrajajući nam imena 'trail angela', volontera iz planinarskih društava, HGSS-a, planinskih entuzijasta koji dočekuju umorne hodače na putu.
Pomicanje granica
Pitamo ga za motive njegovog puta, jer ostaviti sve na dva mjeseca i hodati planinama ne može baš svatko.
- Volim putovati i to na neka mjesta koja nisu popularna za šire mase. To je moja želja iz djetinjstva i sad je mogu realizirati. Želja mi je da prođem stazu i potaknem druge da se okrenu prirodi. Žao mi je kad vidim da ljudi ne poznaju prirodu, gube vrijeme u trgovačkim centrima, zatvaraju se u četiri zida umjesto da upoznaju ljepotu oko sebe. Za ovako nešto treba biti spreman fizički, ali najviše mentalno. Na ovakvom putu se morate nositi sami sa sobom, suočavati se sa svojim strahovima i dilemama, a to nije lako. Osobno dobro podnosim samoću. Ovaj put me iznova podsjeća da su ljudske mogućnosti velike, da možemo pomicati vlastite granice, da možemo puno - poručuje ovaj mladi čovjek.
