Glasnogovornica Bijele kuće Jen Psaki i glazbene zvijezde Jon Bovi i Bryan Adams posljednji su u nizu poznatih osoba koje su se zarazile koronavirusom premda su cijepljene. No stručnjaci kažu da ih takvi slučajevi 'proboja' virusa SARS-CoV2 ne iznenađuju.
Posljednjih tjedana sve češće čujemo o slučajevima proboja virusa - među prijateljevim prijateljima, slavnim osobama, političarima..., osobama koje su pozitivne na testiranjima iako su u potpunosti cijepljene.
Neki među njima razviju simptome covida, ali većinom blage.
Institut Roberta Kocha (RKI) u Njemačkoj je od početka cijepljenja u veljači zabilježio više od 117 tisuća slučajeva proboja virusa, odnosno zaraze sa simptomima.
Stručnjaci to ni u kojem slučaju ne objašnjavaju neučinkovitošću cjepiva, koje i dalje dobro štiti od teških simptoma makar bile potrebne i 'booster' doze za održanje takve razine zaštite.
"Morate znati da zaštita od infekcije šest mjeseci od cijepljenja više nije toliko jaka", kaže njemački virolog Hendrik Streeck.
S njim se slaže i Leif Sander, znanstvenik s odjela za zarazne bolesti i respiratornu medicinu berlinske bolnice Charite.

Zaštita od teže bolesti
Zaštita je najsnažnija dva tjedna nakon druge doze cjepiva, a zatim polako opada, objašnjava Sander. No važno je istaknuti da će razina zaštite u cijepljenih osoba uvijek biti puno veća nego u necijepljenih, dodaje.
Znanstvenu zajednicu takav razvoj događaja nimalo ne iznenađuje. Vodeći njemački virolog Christian Drosten još u travnju je rekao da bi cijepljeni ljudi već nakon nekoliko mjeseci mogli pridonijeti širenju virusa.
A virolog Streeck kaže kako je puno važnije da osoba bude zaštićena od težih simptoma bolesti, što joj omogućuje cijepljenje, nego da bude pošteđena reinfekcije.
Dodaje da oni koji unatoč cijepljenju obole, najčešće razviju blage simptome, a u nekih cijepljenih osoba oni u potpunosti izostanu.

Prijenos virusa
I mogućnost prijenosa virusa razlikuje se među cijepljenima i necijepljenima.
"Količina virusa u organizmu cijepljenih smanjuje se puno brže, a cjepivo zapravo skraćuje razdoblje tijekom kojega se virus može prenijeti", objašnjava Streeck.
Proboj virusa može biti opasan u starijih ljudi čiji je imunološki odgovor slabiji. Po podacima RKI-ja, u Njemačkoj je od veljače od covida umrlo 1076 cijepljenih osoba.
Važno je istaknuti da je među njima bilo 72 posto starijih od 80 godina.
"To ukazuje na općenito veći rizik od smrtnog ishoda u spomenutoj dobnoj skupini neovisno o učinkovitosti cjepiva", priopćio je Institut.
Gledajući ukupan broj oboljelih "samo se mali dio hospitaliziranih, koji su liječeni na odjelu za intenzivnu skrb ili umrlih može pripisati proboju virusa", kazali su.

Treća doza
U priopćenju Instituta Roberta Kocha stoji da je porast broja slučajeva proboja "predvidljiv" jer se sve više ljudi cijepi, a restriktivne mjere se ublažavaju, što povećava vjerojatnost da će u kontakt s virusom doći i potpuno cijepljene osobe.
Sander predlaže da se 'booster' doza ponudi svima, bez obzira na životnu dob, šest mjeseci nakon cijepljenja drugom dozom te smatra da bi ona imala ''dampinški' učinak na širenje virusa u populaciji.
Pritom se poziva na iskustvo Izraelaca koji su se zahvaljujući 'boosterima' izvukli iz zadnjeg vala širenja virusa.
S druge strane Streeck nije toliki pobornik treće doze cjepiva. Ističe da na globalnoj razini cjepiva nema dovoljno te smatra da je važnije većinu zemalja u svijetu opskrbiti drugom dozom cjepiva nego žuriti s trećom u onim bogatima.
On vjeruje da bi za zdravstvene sustave bilo bolje procijepiti starije od šezdeset godina dvjema dozama nego osobe u dvadesetima i trećom dozom cjepiva.
U Kaliforniji su, nakon što je Američka agencija za hranu i lijekove (FDA) odobrila cjepiva, ona postala dostupna za javnost.
Tako su svi stariji od 65 godina koji su već cijepljeni, odnosno osobe koje imaju i neke druge zdravstvene tegobe, pozvani na docjepljivanje dodatnom 'booster' dozom.
Pojačana doza ondje se sada preporučuje svim odraslim osobama koje rade u okruženju jako izloženom virusu, poput bolnica, škola ili trgovina.
No i u SAD-u problem nastaje za odrasle cijepljene osobe koje ne ulaze u te kategorije.

Glasnogovornica Bijele kuće Jen Psaki i glazbene zvijezde Jon Bovi i Bryan Adams posljednji su u nizu poznatih osoba koje su se zarazile koronavirusom premda su cijepljene. No stručnjaci kažu da ih takvi slučajevi 'proboja' virusa SARS-CoV2 ne iznenađuju.
Posljednjih tjedana sve češće čujemo o slučajevima proboja virusa - među prijateljevim prijateljima, slavnim osobama, političarima..., osobama koje su pozitivne na testiranjima iako su u potpunosti cijepljene.
Neki među njima razviju simptome covida, ali većinom blage.
Institut Roberta Kocha (RKI) u Njemačkoj je od početka cijepljenja u veljači zabilježio više od 117 tisuća slučajeva proboja virusa, odnosno zaraze sa simptomima.
Stručnjaci to ni u kojem slučaju ne objašnjavaju neučinkovitošću cjepiva, koje i dalje dobro štiti od teških simptoma makar bile potrebne i 'booster' doze za održanje takve razine zaštite.
"Morate znati da zaštita od infekcije šest mjeseci od cijepljenja više nije toliko jaka", kaže njemački virolog Hendrik Streeck.
S njim se slaže i Leif Sander, znanstvenik s odjela za zarazne bolesti i respiratornu medicinu berlinske bolnice Charite.

Zaštita od teže bolesti
Zaštita je najsnažnija dva tjedna nakon druge doze cjepiva, a zatim polako opada, objašnjava Sander. No važno je istaknuti da će razina zaštite u cijepljenih osoba uvijek biti puno veća nego u necijepljenih, dodaje.
Znanstvenu zajednicu takav razvoj događaja nimalo ne iznenađuje. Vodeći njemački virolog Christian Drosten još u travnju je rekao da bi cijepljeni ljudi već nakon nekoliko mjeseci mogli pridonijeti širenju virusa.
A virolog Streeck kaže kako je puno važnije da osoba bude zaštićena od težih simptoma bolesti, što joj omogućuje cijepljenje, nego da bude pošteđena reinfekcije.
Dodaje da oni koji unatoč cijepljenju obole, najčešće razviju blage simptome, a u nekih cijepljenih osoba oni u potpunosti izostanu.

Prijenos virusa
I mogućnost prijenosa virusa razlikuje se među cijepljenima i necijepljenima.
"Količina virusa u organizmu cijepljenih smanjuje se puno brže, a cjepivo zapravo skraćuje razdoblje tijekom kojega se virus može prenijeti", objašnjava Streeck.
Proboj virusa može biti opasan u starijih ljudi čiji je imunološki odgovor slabiji. Po podacima RKI-ja, u Njemačkoj je od veljače od covida umrlo 1076 cijepljenih osoba.
Važno je istaknuti da je među njima bilo 72 posto starijih od 80 godina.
"To ukazuje na općenito veći rizik od smrtnog ishoda u spomenutoj dobnoj skupini neovisno o učinkovitosti cjepiva", priopćio je Institut.
Gledajući ukupan broj oboljelih "samo se mali dio hospitaliziranih, koji su liječeni na odjelu za intenzivnu skrb ili umrlih može pripisati proboju virusa", kazali su.

Treća doza
U priopćenju Instituta Roberta Kocha stoji da je porast broja slučajeva proboja "predvidljiv" jer se sve više ljudi cijepi, a restriktivne mjere se ublažavaju, što povećava vjerojatnost da će u kontakt s virusom doći i potpuno cijepljene osobe.
Sander predlaže da se 'booster' doza ponudi svima, bez obzira na životnu dob, šest mjeseci nakon cijepljenja drugom dozom te smatra da bi ona imala ''dampinški' učinak na širenje virusa u populaciji.
Pritom se poziva na iskustvo Izraelaca koji su se zahvaljujući 'boosterima' izvukli iz zadnjeg vala širenja virusa.
S druge strane Streeck nije toliki pobornik treće doze cjepiva. Ističe da na globalnoj razini cjepiva nema dovoljno te smatra da je važnije većinu zemalja u svijetu opskrbiti drugom dozom cjepiva nego žuriti s trećom u onim bogatima.
On vjeruje da bi za zdravstvene sustave bilo bolje procijepiti starije od šezdeset godina dvjema dozama nego osobe u dvadesetima i trećom dozom cjepiva.
U Kaliforniji su, nakon što je Američka agencija za hranu i lijekove (FDA) odobrila cjepiva, ona postala dostupna za javnost.
Tako su svi stariji od 65 godina koji su već cijepljeni, odnosno osobe koje imaju i neke druge zdravstvene tegobe, pozvani na docjepljivanje dodatnom 'booster' dozom.
Pojačana doza ondje se sada preporučuje svim odraslim osobama koje rade u okruženju jako izloženom virusu, poput bolnica, škola ili trgovina.
No i u SAD-u problem nastaje za odrasle cijepljene osobe koje ne ulaze u te kategorije.
