Sjetna pjesma "Dođite opet, litu je kraj" Đorđija Peruzovića opjevava arhaične početke turizma u Dalmaciji, kad je preteča današnjeg iznajmljivača apartmana iskonski znao što je gostu bitno: more, srdačna dobrodošlica i - dobar lancun. Posteljina, je li, najbolja koju ima u škrinji, za dragoga gosta kojega želi vidjeti opet...
Lancun u pučkoj tradiciji Dalmacije ima dublje značenje od "asesoara" za spavanje; posteljno rublje teško se nabavljalo, brižljivo čuvalo i počesto ručno tkalo, ukrašavalo dodacima poput merla (čipke), vezenih inicijala, cvjetnih motiva...
Posteljina donesena "u dotu" ulazila je u zapisnik, i to doslovno: u Poljičkoj republici ono što bi donijela djevojka (mladenka) u muževljevu kuću - svoj budući dom - zapisivalo se kod mjesnog svećenika, počesto jedine pismene osobe u selu, koja je stoga djelovala i kao neka vrsta javnog bilježnika. Oni su pisali koliko je cura donijela čarapa, donjeg rublja, posteljnog rublja... Na znanje familiji, da ne bude zabune!

Broj kvalitetnih lancuna donesenih u brak, u novi život udane žene označavao je de facto materijalni status. Količina i uščuvanost posteljine je simbolizirala blagostanje ili siromaštvo; dobra tkanina nije bila svakome dostupna, pogotovo u ruralnim sredinama...
Zna se da su, primjerice, imućne splitske gospoje svoje lancune na pranje počesto povjeravale kaštelanskim praljama; brodovima su se u Sućurac (cestovni promet bio je slab, putovi neasfaltirani) slale košare s prljavom posteljinom, a vraćale su se lancuni bijeli, uškrobljeni.

Sjetna pjesma "Dođite opet, litu je kraj" Đorđija Peruzovića opjevava arhaične početke turizma u Dalmaciji, kad je preteča današnjeg iznajmljivača apartmana iskonski znao što je gostu bitno: more, srdačna dobrodošlica i - dobar lancun. Posteljina, je li, najbolja koju ima u škrinji, za dragoga gosta kojega želi vidjeti opet...
Lancun u pučkoj tradiciji Dalmacije ima dublje značenje od "asesoara" za spavanje; posteljno rublje teško se nabavljalo, brižljivo čuvalo i počesto ručno tkalo, ukrašavalo dodacima poput merla (čipke), vezenih inicijala, cvjetnih motiva...
Posteljina donesena "u dotu" ulazila je u zapisnik, i to doslovno: u Poljičkoj republici ono što bi donijela djevojka (mladenka) u muževljevu kuću - svoj budući dom - zapisivalo se kod mjesnog svećenika, počesto jedine pismene osobe u selu, koja je stoga djelovala i kao neka vrsta javnog bilježnika. Oni su pisali koliko je cura donijela čarapa, donjeg rublja, posteljnog rublja... Na znanje familiji, da ne bude zabune!

Broj kvalitetnih lancuna donesenih u brak, u novi život udane žene označavao je de facto materijalni status. Količina i uščuvanost posteljine je simbolizirala blagostanje ili siromaštvo; dobra tkanina nije bila svakome dostupna, pogotovo u ruralnim sredinama...
