Krsto Papić, rođen je 1933. (Vuči Do, Crna Gora), a diplomirao je na Filozofskom fakultetu u Zagrebu. Kao filmski redatelj debitirao je 1965. epizodom omnibusa "Ključ", a prvi cjelovečernji igrani film "Iluzije", snima 1967. Već je njegov drugi i dosad najslavniji film "Lisice" (1969.) nagrađen Zlatnom Arenom za najbolji film i najbolju režiju na Festivalu igranog filma u Puli.

Bio je jedan od predvodnika tzv. hrvatskog autorskog filma, a oslanjajući se na metode filma istine, šezdesetih i početkom sedamdesetih niže uspješne dokumentarce i kratke igrane filmove, koji su zbog svojih tema nerijetko bili izvrgnuti političkom pritisku tadašnje vlasti.

U bogatom filmografskom opusu ističu mu se "Kad te moja čakija ubode" (1968.), "Čvor" (1970.), "Nek se čuje i naš glas" (1971.), "Specijalni vlakovi" (1972.), "Mala seoska priredba" (1972.), "Nezaposlena žena s djecom" (1986.) i "Život sa stricem" (1988.).

Papić je osvojio više od stotinu nagrada za svoje filmove, cjelovečernji igrani film "Predstava Hamleta u Mrduši Donjoj" sudjelovao je u konkurenciji Berlinala 1974., a film "Izbavitelj" osvojio je tri Grand Prixa, u Trstu, Parizu i Portu.

Film "Život sa stricem" osvojio je Zlatnu arenu i nagradu publike u Puli 1988. te nagradu FIPRESCI za najbolji film u Montrealu. Snimio je još "Priču iz Hrvatske" (1991.), "Kad mrtvi zapjevaju" (1999.), "Infekciju" (2005).

Njegov posljednji film, "Cvjetni trg", premijerno izveden na prošlogodišnjoj Puli, dobio je nagradu Freedom of Speech na festivalu u Montrealu, a uskoro je trebao ići u kino distribuciju.

redatelja čiji su filmovi obilježili povijest hrvatske kinematografije, umro je danas nakon teške bolesti u 80. godini u Zagrebu.

Krsto Papić, rođen je 1933. (Vuči Do, Crna Gora), a diplomirao je na Filozofskom fakultetu u Zagrebu. Kao filmski redatelj debitirao je 1965. epizodom omnibusa "Ključ", a prvi cjelovečernji igrani film "Iluzije", snima 1967. Već je njegov drugi i dosad najslavniji film "Lisice" (1969.) nagrađen Zlatnom Arenom za najbolji film i najbolju režiju na Festivalu igranog filma u Puli.

Bio je jedan od predvodnika tzv. hrvatskog autorskog filma, a oslanjajući se na metode filma istine, šezdesetih i početkom sedamdesetih niže uspješne dokumentarce i kratke igrane filmove, koji su zbog svojih tema nerijetko bili izvrgnuti političkom pritisku tadašnje vlasti.

U bogatom filmografskom opusu ističu mu se "Kad te moja čakija ubode" (1968.), "Čvor" (1970.), "Nek se čuje i naš glas" (1971.), "Specijalni vlakovi" (1972.), "Mala seoska priredba" (1972.), "Nezaposlena žena s djecom" (1986.) i "Život sa stricem" (1988.).

Papić je osvojio više od stotinu nagrada za svoje filmove, cjelovečernji igrani film "Predstava Hamleta u Mrduši Donjoj" sudjelovao je u konkurenciji Berlinala 1974., a film "Izbavitelj" osvojio je tri Grand Prixa, u Trstu, Parizu i Portu.

Film "Život sa stricem" osvojio je Zlatnu arenu i nagradu publike u Puli 1988. te nagradu FIPRESCI za najbolji film u Montrealu. Snimio je još "Priču iz Hrvatske" (1991.), "Kad mrtvi zapjevaju" (1999.), "Infekciju" (2005).

Njegov posljednji film, "Cvjetni trg", premijerno izveden na prošlogodišnjoj Puli, dobio je nagradu Freedom of Speech na festivalu u Montrealu, a uskoro je trebao ići u kino distribuciju.
