"Morate pogledati najbolji postapokaliptični kultni triler na Netflixu iz ovih stopa", ekstatično su posljednjih dana neki strani portali preporučili film "The Silence", kao da preporučuju "A Quiet Place". Preporuka je friška, iako film datira iz 2019. godine.

Moguće je da je tome razlog što je "Tišina" bila tiha tijekom neapokaliptične 2019. i mnogima prošla ispod radara, a apokaliptičnija 2021. traži filmove o apokalipsi i svaki je dobrodošao. Možda je i razlog što je upravo u kinima veoma slični megahit "A Quiet Place Part II" s kojim se "The Silence" može usporediti, ali samo na svoju štetu.

Jer, "Tišina" prečesto djeluje kao lošija, brzopotezna kopija "Mjesta tišine", iako korijeni oba filma, zanimljivo, sežu u 2015. godinu. Scenaristi Bryan Woods i Scott Beck tad su počeli razvijati priču za "A Quiet Place", kad je objavljen i čitan roman "The Silence" Tima Lebbona.

Oba filma su (post)apokaliptične priče o čudovištima neobično izraženog sluha koja napadaju na zvuk, u centru radnje je opstanak jedne familije, ovdje predvođene uvijek rado viđenim, hororima ne pretjerano sklonim Stanleyjem Tuccijem u ulozi oca, a među glavnim likovima ističe se gluha djevojka (ovaj put Kiernan Shipka; Netflixova hit-serija "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina").

Postoje i razlike, drastične. Čudovišta u "Mjestu tišine" su izvanzemaljska, s drugog planeta ili možda galaksije, dok su "Tišini" oslobođena iz neistraženog pećinskog sustava Pensilvanije, 300 metara ispod Apalačke staze, odakle kreću u najezdu, što vidimo u uvojnoj sceni. Gluha 16-godišnja djevojka je, pak, ostala bez sluha u dobi od 13 godina u potonjem ostvarenju.

Razlike ne idu u prilog filmu "The Silence". Monstruozna stvorenja izgledaju kao spoj šišmiša i pterodaktila, nisu preveliki, a ni strašni, ali ima ih puno i napadaju u jatu, kao leteće pirane. S druge strane, "Tišina" slabo koristi motiv (gubitka) sluha i zvuka za film u kojem se glavni ženski lik adaptirao nakon što je izgubio sluh i "osjeća sve oko sebe".

"A Quiet Place" je sve ostale članove obitelji pretvorio u gluhonijeme poput kćeri koji u strahu od čudovišta komuniciraju znakovnim jezikom itd., nerijetko stišavajući ton do maksimuma kako bi prenio doživljaj svijeta tišine na gledatelja.

"The Silence" se boji reducirati dijaloge pa gluha djevojka nekako ipak komunicira s bližnjima, doduše ispod glasa, ali oni svejedno komuniciraju uz česta upozorenja "ne pravite buku", "budimo tihi" i "psssst", kakva smo već čuli u "Mjestu tišine".

Prvi film je, tako postavljen, svodio priču na opstanak primordijalnog tipa i vraćao SF horor u vrijeme kad kinematografija nije još govorila i bila je nijema. Svijet tišine u drugom filmu netko bi gotovo mogao zamijeniti za svijet "Budnih" iz recentne Netflixove apokalipse sličnog "srednja žalost" dometa, posebice što su neki ljudi jednaka ili veća prijetnja od čudovišta.

Režiser John R. Leonetti (prva i najslabija "Annabelle") ne zna kako "Tišinu" načiniti konstantno strašnom i tenzičnom, što je uspjelo Johnu Krasinskom u "A Quiet Place 1&2". Za jedan nominalno horor, "The Silence" nije uopće strašan film, kao što nije bio ni "Bird Box".

Tek povremeno, od jedne do druge scene, redatelj Leonetti pokaže mrvicu potencijala da gledatelj počne maštati što bi doktor hororsko-trilerske nauke Alfred Hitchcock napravio s letećim monstrumima s kakvima je imao posla u "The Birds".

Primjerice, u jednoj sceni lik se žrtvuje za ostale kako bi na sebe odvukao pažnju monstruma s njih, zarobljenih u automobilu, u drugoj putnici podzemne izbace majku s jecavim djetetom iz vagona, a u trećoj negativci omotaju djevojčicu mobitelima kao što se terorist omota eksplozivom, što je subverzivno, posebice što i u ovom filmu netko pita "jesu li teroristi?" kad gradovi budu napadnuti.

No, koliko nije kalibar Krasinskog, kamoli jednog Hitchcocka, Leonetti pokazuje u neuzbudljivoj, nimalo intenzivnoj sceni kojom je neuspješno pokušao "homažirati" klasik "Ptice", rilagoditi ga premisi na razmeđi tišine i buke. Ajme i buku!

U filmu glumi i Miranda Otto koja je s mladom glumicom Kiernan Shipka (malo podsjeća na Emmu Watson) glumila u "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina".

"Morate pogledati najbolji postapokaliptični kultni triler na Netflixu iz ovih stopa", ekstatično su posljednjih dana neki strani portali preporučili film "The Silence", kao da preporučuju "A Quiet Place". Preporuka je friška, iako film datira iz 2019. godine.

Moguće je da je tome razlog što je "Tišina" bila tiha tijekom neapokaliptične 2019. i mnogima prošla ispod radara, a apokaliptičnija 2021. traži filmove o apokalipsi i svaki je dobrodošao. Možda je i razlog što je upravo u kinima veoma slični megahit "A Quiet Place Part II" s kojim se "The Silence" može usporediti, ali samo na svoju štetu.

Jer, "Tišina" prečesto djeluje kao lošija, brzopotezna kopija "Mjesta tišine", iako korijeni oba filma, zanimljivo, sežu u 2015. godinu. Scenaristi Bryan Woods i Scott Beck tad su počeli razvijati priču za "A Quiet Place", kad je objavljen i čitan roman "The Silence" Tima Lebbona.

Oba filma su (post)apokaliptične priče o čudovištima neobično izraženog sluha koja napadaju na zvuk, u centru radnje je opstanak jedne familije, ovdje predvođene uvijek rado viđenim, hororima ne pretjerano sklonim Stanleyjem Tuccijem u ulozi oca, a među glavnim likovima ističe se gluha djevojka (ovaj put Kiernan Shipka; Netflixova hit-serija "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina").

Postoje i razlike, drastične. Čudovišta u "Mjestu tišine" su izvanzemaljska, s drugog planeta ili možda galaksije, dok su "Tišini" oslobođena iz neistraženog pećinskog sustava Pensilvanije, 300 metara ispod Apalačke staze, odakle kreću u najezdu, što vidimo u uvojnoj sceni. Gluha 16-godišnja djevojka je, pak, ostala bez sluha u dobi od 13 godina u potonjem ostvarenju.

Razlike ne idu u prilog filmu "The Silence". Monstruozna stvorenja izgledaju kao spoj šišmiša i pterodaktila, nisu preveliki, a ni strašni, ali ima ih puno i napadaju u jatu, kao leteće pirane. S druge strane, "Tišina" slabo koristi motiv (gubitka) sluha i zvuka za film u kojem se glavni ženski lik adaptirao nakon što je izgubio sluh i "osjeća sve oko sebe".

"A Quiet Place" je sve ostale članove obitelji pretvorio u gluhonijeme poput kćeri koji u strahu od čudovišta komuniciraju znakovnim jezikom itd., nerijetko stišavajući ton do maksimuma kako bi prenio doživljaj svijeta tišine na gledatelja.

"The Silence" se boji reducirati dijaloge pa gluha djevojka nekako ipak komunicira s bližnjima, doduše ispod glasa, ali oni svejedno komuniciraju uz česta upozorenja "ne pravite buku", "budimo tihi" i "psssst", kakva smo već čuli u "Mjestu tišine".

Prvi film je, tako postavljen, svodio priču na opstanak primordijalnog tipa i vraćao SF horor u vrijeme kad kinematografija nije još govorila i bila je nijema. Svijet tišine u drugom filmu netko bi gotovo mogao zamijeniti za svijet "Budnih" iz recentne Netflixove apokalipse sličnog "srednja žalost" dometa, posebice što su neki ljudi jednaka ili veća prijetnja od čudovišta.

Režiser John R. Leonetti (prva i najslabija "Annabelle") ne zna kako "Tišinu" načiniti konstantno strašnom i tenzičnom, što je uspjelo Johnu Krasinskom u "A Quiet Place 1&2". Za jedan nominalno horor, "The Silence" nije uopće strašan film, kao što nije bio ni "Bird Box".

Tek povremeno, od jedne do druge scene, redatelj Leonetti pokaže mrvicu potencijala da gledatelj počne maštati što bi doktor hororsko-trilerske nauke Alfred Hitchcock napravio s letećim monstrumima s kakvima je imao posla u "The Birds".

Primjerice, u jednoj sceni lik se žrtvuje za ostale kako bi na sebe odvukao pažnju monstruma s njih, zarobljenih u automobilu, u drugoj putnici podzemne izbace majku s jecavim djetetom iz vagona, a u trećoj negativci omotaju djevojčicu mobitelima kao što se terorist omota eksplozivom, što je subverzivno, posebice što i u ovom filmu netko pita "jesu li teroristi?" kad gradovi budu napadnuti.

No, koliko nije kalibar Krasinskog, kamoli jednog Hitchcocka, Leonetti pokazuje u neuzbudljivoj, nimalo intenzivnoj sceni kojom je neuspješno pokušao "homažirati" klasik "Ptice", rilagoditi ga premisi na razmeđi tišine i buke. Ajme i buku!

U filmu glumi i Miranda Otto koja je s mladom glumicom Kiernan Shipka (malo podsjeća na Emmu Watson) glumila u "Chilling Adventures of Sabrina".
