Gospodin Simon Thomas, britanski veleposlanik, tijekom svog službenog boravka u Dubrovniku posjetio je OŠ Ivana Gundulića.

Škola već niz godina surađuje s British Councilom, međunarodnom organizacijom Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva za kulturne i obrazovne veze, na projektima Aktivni građanin i Podrška kurikularnoj reformi pa je ovo bila prilika za osvrt na provedbu Škole za život.

G. Thomas, s kojim su u posjet školi došli i g. Tomislav Kaznačić iz Britanskog veleposlanstva te predstavnici Grada Dubrovnika, gđa Jelka Tepšić i g. Dživo Brčić, najprije je imao priliku porazgovarati s ravnateljicom, gđom Vedranom Elez i djelatnicima škole, a zatim u školskom holu pogledati program učenika i učitelja Engleskog jezika na hrvatskom i engleskom. Posjet je završio obilaskom škole u pratnji učenika-vodiča.

Unatoč lošem vremenu, koje je g. Thomas duhovito nazvao pravim engleskim, bilo je ovo jedno lijepo i drukčije školsko jutro, kako za gunduliće tako i za g. Thomasa koji je zahvalio na gostoprimstvu i pohvalio znanje engleskog jezika gruških osnovnoškolaca potaknuvši ih da što više govore engleski bez obzira na eventualne pogreške. „Ako jedan veleposlanik pravi pogreške u svom hrvatskom“, a g. Thomas govori hrvatski, „onda sigurno i vi učenici smijete griješiti u engleskom, bitno je govoriti“, simpatično je zaključio.

Gospodin Simon Thomas, britanski veleposlanik, tijekom svog službenog boravka u Dubrovniku posjetio je OŠ Ivana Gundulića.

Škola već niz godina surađuje s British Councilom, međunarodnom organizacijom Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva za kulturne i obrazovne veze, na projektima Aktivni građanin i Podrška kurikularnoj reformi pa je ovo bila prilika za osvrt na provedbu Škole za život.

G. Thomas, s kojim su u posjet školi došli i g. Tomislav Kaznačić iz Britanskog veleposlanstva te predstavnici Grada Dubrovnika, gđa Jelka Tepšić i g. Dživo Brčić, najprije je imao priliku porazgovarati s ravnateljicom, gđom Vedranom Elez i djelatnicima škole, a zatim u školskom holu pogledati program učenika i učitelja Engleskog jezika na hrvatskom i engleskom. Posjet je završio obilaskom škole u pratnji učenika-vodiča.

Unatoč lošem vremenu, koje je g. Thomas duhovito nazvao pravim engleskim, bilo je ovo jedno lijepo i drukčije školsko jutro, kako za gunduliće tako i za g. Thomasa koji je zahvalio na gostoprimstvu i pohvalio znanje engleskog jezika gruških osnovnoškolaca potaknuvši ih da što više govore engleski bez obzira na eventualne pogreške. „Ako jedan veleposlanik pravi pogreške u svom hrvatskom“, a g. Thomas govori hrvatski, „onda sigurno i vi učenici smijete griješiti u engleskom, bitno je govoriti“, simpatično je zaključio.
