Između siječnja i travnja ove godine je otprilike 0,01 posto ljudi cijepljenih objema dozama cjepiva oboljelo od covida-19, pokazala je američka studija koja potvrđuje visoku učinkovitost cjepiva, prenosi Jutarnji.hr.
U izvješću američkog Centra za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti (CDC) dokumentirani su takozvani slučajevi "proboja" virusa među 101 milijuna cijepljenih objema dozama u Sjedinjenim Državama.
"Premda se radi o visoko učinkovitim cjepivima, slučajevi proboja su očekivani, posebno prije nego što imunost u populaciji ne dosegne dovoljnu razinu za dodatno smanjenje transmisije", kaže se u izvješću.
Istraživanjem je obuhvaćeno razdoblje od 1. siječnja do 30. travnja.
Dokumentirane su ukupno 10.262 zaraze dva tjedna ili više dana nakon cijepljenja i drugom dozom jednog od cjepiva koje je odobrio CDC - Pfizera, Moderne i Johnson & Johnsona.
Prosječna dob tih pacijenata iznosila je 58 godina, a većinom, u 63 posto slučaja radilo se o ženama.
Od ukupnog broja proboja, 706 slučajeva ili sedam posto oboljelih je hospitalizirano je, a 132 ili jedan posto umrlo je zbog razloga povezanih s covidom. Ostalo su bili blagi ili asimptomatski slučajevi koji su otkriveni rutinskim testiranjem.
To znači da je stopa hospitalizacija u ukupnom broju cijepljenih ugrubo 0,0007 posto, a stopa smrtnosti 0,0001 posto.
Genomsko sekvencioniranje dostupnih slučajeva zaraze pokazalo je da je najčešća varijanta virusa u slučajevima proboja bila britanska - B.1.1.7.
"Broj oboljenja, hospitalizacija i smrti koje je cijepljenje spriječilo daleko nadmašuje slučajeve proboja", napisali su autori.
CDC ipak napominje kako je vrlo vjerojatno da slučajeva proboja ima više jer se osobe koje se cijepe objema dozama cjepiva rijetko redovno testiraju.

Između siječnja i travnja ove godine je otprilike 0,01 posto ljudi cijepljenih objema dozama cjepiva oboljelo od covida-19, pokazala je američka studija koja potvrđuje visoku učinkovitost cjepiva, prenosi Jutarnji.hr.
U izvješću američkog Centra za kontrolu i prevenciju bolesti (CDC) dokumentirani su takozvani slučajevi "proboja" virusa među 101 milijuna cijepljenih objema dozama u Sjedinjenim Državama.
"Premda se radi o visoko učinkovitim cjepivima, slučajevi proboja su očekivani, posebno prije nego što imunost u populaciji ne dosegne dovoljnu razinu za dodatno smanjenje transmisije", kaže se u izvješću.
Istraživanjem je obuhvaćeno razdoblje od 1. siječnja do 30. travnja.
Dokumentirane su ukupno 10.262 zaraze dva tjedna ili više dana nakon cijepljenja i drugom dozom jednog od cjepiva koje je odobrio CDC - Pfizera, Moderne i Johnson & Johnsona.
Prosječna dob tih pacijenata iznosila je 58 godina, a većinom, u 63 posto slučaja radilo se o ženama.
Od ukupnog broja proboja, 706 slučajeva ili sedam posto oboljelih je hospitalizirano je, a 132 ili jedan posto umrlo je zbog razloga povezanih s covidom. Ostalo su bili blagi ili asimptomatski slučajevi koji su otkriveni rutinskim testiranjem.
To znači da je stopa hospitalizacija u ukupnom broju cijepljenih ugrubo 0,0007 posto, a stopa smrtnosti 0,0001 posto.
Genomsko sekvencioniranje dostupnih slučajeva zaraze pokazalo je da je najčešća varijanta virusa u slučajevima proboja bila britanska - B.1.1.7.
"Broj oboljenja, hospitalizacija i smrti koje je cijepljenje spriječilo daleko nadmašuje slučajeve proboja", napisali su autori.
CDC ipak napominje kako je vrlo vjerojatno da slučajeva proboja ima više jer se osobe koje se cijepe objema dozama cjepiva rijetko redovno testiraju.
