Zika, denga i krimsko-kongoanska hemoragijska groznica (CCHF) s vremenom će se proširiti britanskim tlom, tvrde stručnjaci. Znanstvenim istraživanjem utvrdili su da ove bolesti prijete Velikoj Britaniji zbog klimatskih promjena i rastućih temperatura koje su rezultirale većim brojem komaraca i krpelja koji prenose te bolesti, piše Daily Mail, a prenosi Jutarnji list.

Jedna od njihovih najvećih briga je groznica doline Rift - bolest sa stopom smrtnosti od gotovo 40 posto. Posebice je opasno što bi početne infekcije mogle bi proći ispod radara liječnika koji nisu upoznati sa "stranim" patogenima.

Svjetska organizacija (WHO) navela je CCHF kao jednu od svojih prioritetnih bolesti koja je već stigla do Francuske. James Wood, šef veterinarske medicine na Sveučilištu Cambridge, rekao je zastupnicima u Odboru za znanost, inovacije i tehnologiju da je vrlo vjerojatno da će CCHF u budućnosti stići do Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva.

- Neke infekcije koje prenose krpelji, poput krimsko-kongoanske hemoragijske groznice, vrlo će se vjerojatno proširiti Ujedinjenim Kraljevstvom u nekom trenutku. Postoje infekcije koje prenese komarci, poput groznice doline Rift, koja bi se mogla iduća pojaviti, rekao je Wood.

Groznica doline Rift (RVF) može ubiti čak polovicu zaraženih pacijenata.

- Rano otkrivanje bolesti bit će izazov jer naši kliničari nisu obučeni za uočavanje ovih bolesti, dodao je.

- Virusi koje prenose člankonošci kao što su virus denga groznice i zika virus, mogli bi se udomaćiti u Ujedinjenom Kraljevstvu, tvrdi profesor Bryan Charleston, ravnatelj instituta Pirbright koji proučava zarazne bolesti kod životinja.

Klimatske promjene mijenjaju područja na kojima se neki od virusa mogu pronaći. Denga groznica klasična je bolest Južne Amerike i Jugoistočne Azije, a sad se pojavila i na Mediteranu. WHO označio je CCHF, RVF i ziku kao bolesti koje bi u budućnosti mogle izazvati pandemiju.

Primarno se CCHF dobije od zaraženih krpelja, ali se također može širiti među ljudima putem tjelesnih tekućina. Na početku infekcije pojavljuju se simptomi slični eboli - bolovi u mišićima, bolovi u trbuhu, grlobolja i povraćanje. Ostali simptomi virusa, koji se javljaju iznenada, uključuju temperaturu, vrtoglavicu, bol i ukočenost vrata, bol u leđima, glavobolju, bol u očima i osjetljivost na svjetlo.

Virus koji prenose komarci izazvao je globalnu pandemiju 2016. godine kad su se milijuni zarazili, a velik se broj djece rodio s urođenim manama poput mikrocefalije - manji opseg glave. Do 2016. više se od 80 zemalja suočilo s izbijanjem Zike. Uobičajeni simptomi uključuju visoku temperaturu, glavobolju, bolove u zglobovima i mišićima, crvene oči i otečene zglobove.

Denga groznica je još jedna virusna infekcija koju prenose komarci koja je ranije bila ograničena na područja tropske i suptropske klime. Većina slučajeva prolazi sa simptomima sličnim gripi, no neke od infekcija mogu biti smrtonosne. James Wood, šef veterinarske medicine na Sveučilištu Cambridge, rekao je zastupnicima u Odboru za znanost, inovacije i tehnologiju da je vrlo vjerojatno da će CCHF u budućnosti stići do Ujedinjenog Kraljevstva.

- Neke infekcije koje prenose krpelji, poput krimsko-kongoanske hemoragijske groznice, vrlo će se vjerojatno proširiti Ujedinjenim Kraljevstvom u nekom trenutku. Postoje infekcije koje prenese komarci, poput groznice doline Rift, koja bi se mogla iduća pojaviti, rekao je Wood.

Groznica doline Rift (RVF) može ubiti čak polovicu zaraženih pacijenata.
