Papa Franjo u nedjelju je proglasio svetima deset osoba, među kojima su nizozemski svećenik, borac protiv nacizma, ubijen u koncentracijskom logoru Dachauu i francuski redovnik pustinjak ubijen u Alžiru.

85-godišnji papa do oltara je dovezen u invalidskim kolica zbog bolova u koljenima i nogama. Na Trgu svetog Petra bilo je više od 50.000 ljudi, što je jedno od najvećih okupljanja nakon popuštanja restriktivnih mjera uvedenih zbog pandemije covida.

Franjo je došepao do stolice iza oltara, no ustao je da bi pojedinačno pozdravio neke sudionike. Propovijed je čitao sjedeći, ali je za vrijeme ostalih dijelova mise stajao i homiliju čitao snažnim glasom.

Franjo je pročitao imena kanoniziranih osoba, a nakon proglašenja svake osobe svetom okupljeni su klicali, prenosi Slobodna Dalmacija.

Nizozemski svećenik Titus Brandsma bio je član karmelićanskoga redovničkog reda i ravnatelj Katoličkog sveučilišta u Nijmegenu. Protiv nacističke ideologije otvoreno je govorio još prije Drugoga svjetskog rata i njemačke invazije na Nizozemsku 1940. godine.

Tijekom nacističke okupacije nije se libio govoriti ni protiv antižidovskih zakona te je pozvao nizozemske katoličke listove da ne tiskaju nacističku propagandu.

Uhićen je 1942. Isprva je bio smješten u nizozemskim zatvorima, a zatim je odveden u zloglasni logor Dachau, gdje je podvrgavan biološkim eksperimentima. Na kraju je pogubljen smrtonosnom injekcijom u dobi od 61 godine.

Drugi novoproglašeni svetac je Charles de Foucauld, francuski plemić, vojnik, istraživač i geograf iz 19. stoljeća koji je kasnije doživio obraćenje i postao svećenik te živio kao pustinjak među siromašnim Berberima u sjevernoj Africi.

Objavio je prvi tuareško-francuski rječnik. De Foucauld je ubijen u Alžiru 1916.

Među ostalih osmero osoba proglašenih svetima su Devasahayam Pillai, koji je ubijen zbog prelaska na kršćanstvo u Indiji u 18. stoljeću i Cesar de Bus, francuski svećenik iz 16. stoljeća koji je osnovao vjerski red.

Franjo je svetima proglasio i dvojicu talijanskih svećenika, tri talijanske časne sestre i jednu francusku redovnicu. Svi su živjeli između 16. i 20. stoljeća.

"Ovi su sveci pogodovali duhovnom i društvenom razvoju svojih naroda i cijeloga ljudskog roda, a u današnjem svijetu, nažalost, distanca se produbljuje, a napetosti i ratovi su sve češći", rekao je Franjo nakon mise. Svjetski lideri moraju biti "protagonisti mira, a ne rata", rekao je, očigledno aludirajući na rat u Ukrajini.

Svim novim svecima pripisuju se čuda.

Papa Franjo u nedjelju je proglasio svetima deset osoba, među kojima su nizozemski svećenik, borac protiv nacizma, ubijen u koncentracijskom logoru Dachauu i francuski redovnik pustinjak ubijen u Alžiru.

85-godišnji papa do oltara je dovezen u invalidskim kolica zbog bolova u koljenima i nogama. Na Trgu svetog Petra bilo je više od 50.000 ljudi, što je jedno od najvećih okupljanja nakon popuštanja restriktivnih mjera uvedenih zbog pandemije covida.

Franjo je došepao do stolice iza oltara, no ustao je da bi pojedinačno pozdravio neke sudionike. Propovijed je čitao sjedeći, ali je za vrijeme ostalih dijelova mise stajao i homiliju čitao snažnim glasom.

Franjo je pročitao imena kanoniziranih osoba, a nakon proglašenja svake osobe svetom okupljeni su klicali, prenosi Slobodna Dalmacija.

Nizozemski svećenik Titus Brandsma bio je član karmelićanskoga redovničkog reda i ravnatelj Katoličkog sveučilišta u Nijmegenu. Protiv nacističke ideologije otvoreno je govorio još prije Drugoga svjetskog rata i njemačke invazije na Nizozemsku 1940. godine.

Tijekom nacističke okupacije nije se libio govoriti ni protiv antižidovskih zakona te je pozvao nizozemske katoličke listove da ne tiskaju nacističku propagandu.

Uhićen je 1942. Isprva je bio smješten u nizozemskim zatvorima, a zatim je odveden u zloglasni logor Dachau, gdje je podvrgavan biološkim eksperimentima. Na kraju je pogubljen smrtonosnom injekcijom u dobi od 61 godine.

Drugi novoproglašeni svetac je Charles de Foucauld, francuski plemić, vojnik, istraživač i geograf iz 19. stoljeća koji je kasnije doživio obraćenje i postao svećenik te živio kao pustinjak među siromašnim Berberima u sjevernoj Africi.

Objavio je prvi tuareško-francuski rječnik. De Foucauld je ubijen u Alžiru 1916.

Među ostalih osmero osoba proglašenih svetima su Devasahayam Pillai, koji je ubijen zbog prelaska na kršćanstvo u Indiji u 18. stoljeću i Cesar de Bus, francuski svećenik iz 16. stoljeća koji je osnovao vjerski red.

Franjo je svetima proglasio i dvojicu talijanskih svećenika, tri talijanske časne sestre i jednu francusku redovnicu. Svi su živjeli između 16. i 20. stoljeća.

"Ovi su sveci pogodovali duhovnom i društvenom razvoju svojih naroda i cijeloga ljudskog roda, a u današnjem svijetu, nažalost, distanca se produbljuje, a napetosti i ratovi su sve češći", rekao je Franjo nakon mise. Svjetski lideri moraju biti "protagonisti mira, a ne rata", rekao je, očigledno aludirajući na rat u Ukrajini.

Svim novim svecima pripisuju se čuda.

Papa Franjo u nedjelju je proglasio svetima deset osoba, među kojima su nizozemski svećenik, borac protiv nacizma, ubijen u koncentracijskom logoru Dachauu i francuski redovnik pustinjak ubijen u Alžiru.

85-godišnji papa do oltara je dovezen u invalidskim kolica zbog bolova u koljenima i nogama. Na Trgu svetog Petra bilo je više od 50.000 ljudi, što je jedno od najvećih okupljanja nakon popuštanja restriktivnih mjera uvedenih zbog pandemije covida.

Franjo je došepao do stolice iza oltara, no ustao je da bi pojedinačno pozdravio neke sudionike. Propovijed je čitao sjedeći, ali je za vrijeme ostalih dijelova mise stajao i homiliju čitao snažnim glasom.

Franjo je pročitao imena kanoniziranih osoba, a nakon proglašenja svake osobe svetom okupljeni su klicali, prenosi Slobodna Dalmacija.

Nizozemski svećenik Titus Brandsma bio je član karmelićanskoga redovničkog reda i ravnatelj Katoličkog sveučilišta u Nijmegenu. Protiv nacističke ideologije otvoreno je govorio još prije Drugoga svjetskog rata i njemačke invazije na Nizozemsku 1940. godine.

Tijekom nacističke okupacije nije se libio govoriti ni protiv antižidovskih zakona te je pozvao nizozemske katoličke listove da ne tiskaju nacističku propagandu.

Uhićen je 1942. Isprva je bio smješten u nizozemskim zatvorima, a zatim je odveden u zloglasni logor Dachau, gdje je podvrgavan biološkim eksperimentima. Na kraju je pogubljen smrtonosnom injekcijom u dobi od 61 godine.

Drugi novoproglašeni svetac je Charles de Foucauld, francuski plemić, vojnik, istraživač i geograf iz 19. stoljeća koji je kasnije doživio obraćenje i postao svećenik te živio kao pustinjak među siromašnim Berberima u sjevernoj Africi.

Objavio je prvi tuareško-francuski rječnik. De Foucauld je ubijen u Alžiru 1916.

Među ostalih osmero osoba proglašenih svetima su Devasahayam Pillai, koji je ubijen zbog prelaska na kršćanstvo u Indiji u 18. stoljeću i Cesar de Bus, francuski svećenik iz 16. stoljeća koji je osnovao vjerski red.

Franjo je svetima proglasio i dvojicu talijanskih svećenika, tri talijanske časne sestre i jednu francusku redovnicu. Svi su živjeli između 16. i 20. stoljeća.

"Ovi su sveci pogodovali duhovnom i društvenom razvoju svojih naroda i cijeloga ljudskog roda, a u današnjem svijetu, nažalost, distanca se produbljuje, a napetosti i ratovi su sve češći", rekao je Franjo nakon mise. Svjetski lideri moraju biti "protagonisti mira, a ne rata", rekao je, očigledno aludirajući na rat u Ukrajini.

Svim novim svecima pripisuju se čuda.
