Finska se desetljećima priprema na ruski napad i pružila bi snažan otpor ako do toga dođe, rekao je čelnik vojnih snaga u srijedu.  

Skandinavska zemlja izgradila je velik arsenal. No osim vojne opreme, general Timo Kivinen kaže da je ključan faktor to što bi u slučaju napada Finci bili motivirani da se bore.

"Najvažnija linija obrane je ona između ušiju, kao što to rat u Ukrajini upravo dokazuje", rekao je Kivinen u intervjuu.

Finska je 40-ih godina ratovala dvaput protiv svoga istočnog susjeda s kojim dijeli 1300 kilometara dugu granicu.
Zbog zabrinutosti da bi Rusija mogla izvršiti invaziju kao na Ukrajinu 24. veljače, neutralna Finska podnijela je zahtjev za učlanjenje u vojni savez NATO.

Od Drugog svjetskog rata, Helsinki je na visokoj razini vojne spreme.

"Sustavno smo razvijali svoju vojnu obranu za ovakvu vrstu rata koji se događa u Ukrajini, uz masovnu upotrebu vatrene moći, oružanih i zračnih snaga", rekao je Kivinen.

"Ukrajina je težak zalogaj (za Rusiju), a bila bi i Finska."

Oko 100.000 Finaca ubijeno je tijekom dva rata koje je Finska vodila protiv Sovjetskog saveza i izgubila je desetinu teritorija.

Nacija od 5.5 milijuna ima ratnu vojnu snagu od oko 280.000 vojnika s 870.000 uvježbanih rezervista. Nije ukinut vojni rok za muškarce kao u mnogim drugim zapadnim nacijama nakon kraja hladnog rata.

Zemlja ima također jedno od najboljih topništva u Europi te krstareće projektile s dometom do 370 kilometara. Troši 2 posto svoga BDP-a na obranu, što je razina viša od mnogih zemalja članica NATO-a.

Finska naručuje četiri nova ratna broda, kao i 64 F-35 borbenih zrakoplova od američkog obrambenog diva Lockheed Martina.

Također, Finska planira naručiti do 2000 dronova, protuzračnu opremu i gradi ograde na granici s Rusijom. 

Oko 82 posto ispitanika koje je 18. svibnja odgovaralo u anketi za ministarstvo obrane, reklo je da bi bili voljni sudjelovati u nacionalnoj obrani ako Finska bude napadnuta.

Finskom, te također švedskom zahtjevu za pristup NATO-u protivi se Turska, članica Saveza i vode se pregovori o tom pitanju. Ankara optužuje Helsinki i i Stockholma da podržavaju kurdske militante i embargo oružja Turskoj.

Članstvo u NATO-u dopustilo bi Finskoj da osnaži svoje kapacitete ranog upozorenja tako što će postati dio zajedničke zračne kontrole saveza, rekao je Kivinen.

Finska bi također imala koristi od odvraćanja time što je član saveza u kojem je napad na jednu članicu napad na sve, rekao je i zaključio "Svejedno, glavnu odgovornost za obranu Finske i dalje će snositi Finska".

Finska se desetljećima priprema na ruski napad i pružila bi snažan otpor ako do toga dođe, rekao je čelnik vojnih snaga u srijedu.  

Skandinavska zemlja izgradila je velik arsenal. No osim vojne opreme, general Timo Kivinen kaže da je ključan faktor to što bi u slučaju napada Finci bili motivirani da se bore.

"Najvažnija linija obrane je ona između ušiju, kao što to rat u Ukrajini upravo dokazuje", rekao je Kivinen u intervjuu.

Finska je 40-ih godina ratovala dvaput protiv svoga istočnog susjeda s kojim dijeli 1300 kilometara dugu granicu.
Zbog zabrinutosti da bi Rusija mogla izvršiti invaziju kao na Ukrajinu 24. veljače, neutralna Finska podnijela je zahtjev za učlanjenje u vojni savez NATO.

Od Drugog svjetskog rata, Helsinki je na visokoj razini vojne spreme.

"Sustavno smo razvijali svoju vojnu obranu za ovakvu vrstu rata koji se događa u Ukrajini, uz masovnu upotrebu vatrene moći, oružanih i zračnih snaga", rekao je Kivinen.

"Ukrajina je težak zalogaj (za Rusiju), a bila bi i Finska."

Oko 100.000 Finaca ubijeno je tijekom dva rata koje je Finska vodila protiv Sovjetskog saveza i izgubila je desetinu teritorija.

Nacija od 5.5 milijuna ima ratnu vojnu snagu od oko 280.000 vojnika s 870.000 uvježbanih rezervista. Nije ukinut vojni rok za muškarce kao u mnogim drugim zapadnim nacijama nakon kraja hladnog rata.

Zemlja ima također jedno od najboljih topništva u Europi te krstareće projektile s dometom do 370 kilometara. Troši 2 posto svoga BDP-a na obranu, što je razina viša od mnogih zemalja članica NATO-a.

Finska naručuje četiri nova ratna broda, kao i 64 F-35 borbenih zrakoplova od američkog obrambenog diva Lockheed Martina.

Također, Finska planira naručiti do 2000 dronova, protuzračnu opremu i gradi ograde na granici s Rusijom. 

Oko 82 posto ispitanika koje je 18. svibnja odgovaralo u anketi za ministarstvo obrane, reklo je da bi bili voljni sudjelovati u nacionalnoj obrani ako Finska bude napadnuta.

Finskom, te također švedskom zahtjevu za pristup NATO-u protivi se Turska, članica Saveza i vode se pregovori o tom pitanju. Ankara optužuje Helsinki i i Stockholma da podržavaju kurdske militante i embargo oružja Turskoj.

Članstvo u NATO-u dopustilo bi Finskoj da osnaži svoje kapacitete ranog upozorenja tako što će postati dio zajedničke zračne kontrole saveza, rekao je Kivinen.

Finska bi također imala koristi od odvraćanja time što je član saveza u kojem je napad na jednu članicu napad na sve, rekao je i zaključio "Svejedno, glavnu odgovornost za obranu Finske i dalje će snositi Finska".

Finska se desetljećima priprema na ruski napad i pružila bi snažan otpor ako do toga dođe, rekao je čelnik vojnih snaga u srijedu.  

Skandinavska zemlja izgradila je velik arsenal. No osim vojne opreme, general Timo Kivinen kaže da je ključan faktor to što bi u slučaju napada Finci bili motivirani da se bore.

"Najvažnija linija obrane je ona između ušiju, kao što to rat u Ukrajini upravo dokazuje", rekao je Kivinen u intervjuu.

Finska je 40-ih godina ratovala dvaput protiv svoga istočnog susjeda s kojim dijeli 1300 kilometara dugu granicu.
Zbog zabrinutosti da bi Rusija mogla izvršiti invaziju kao na Ukrajinu 24. veljače, neutralna Finska podnijela je zahtjev za učlanjenje u vojni savez NATO.

Od Drugog svjetskog rata, Helsinki je na visokoj razini vojne spreme.

"Sustavno smo razvijali svoju vojnu obranu za ovakvu vrstu rata koji se događa u Ukrajini, uz masovnu upotrebu vatrene moći, oružanih i zračnih snaga", rekao je Kivinen.

"Ukrajina je težak zalogaj (za Rusiju), a bila bi i Finska."
