Nakon što je Agencija za elektroničke medije (AEM) u srijedu Hrvatskoj regulatornoj agenciji za mrežne djelatnosti na postupanje poslala uredbu Vijeća EU kojom se zabranjuje emitiranje Russia Today i Sputnik ''putem kabela, satelita, IPTV platformi, platformi za dijeljenje sadržaja ili aplikacija'', situaciju je komentirao dubrovački komunikolog Đorđe Obradović:
- Stara izreka, citirana i u Malovićevoj knjizi Osnove novinarstva, glasi da je istina prva žrtva rata. Tako je i u sadašnjem ratu Rusije protiv Ukrajine. Mediji se koriste za širenje propagande i pravdanje poduzetih akcija. U današnje doba, kad društvene mreže povezuju sve dijelove svijeta i pojedince koji objavljuju priloge i s mjesta na koje novinari zbog ratnih djelovanja ne mogu doći, na prvi bi se pogled moglo pomisliti da se ipak može spoznati istina. Ali, nije tako - rekao je Obradović, pa objasnio i zašto:

- Rusija je ograničila mnoge medijske sadržaje i medije, kao i komuniciranje na društvenim mrežama. Od autoritarnog režima to se i očekivalo. No, Zapad, u čijim je temeljima sloboda govora i u novinarstvu načelo "neka se čuje i druga strana", uzvraća istom mjerom. Više se na cenzuru ne odgovara slobodom govora, nego cenzurom. Opravdanje je strah od širenja ruske propagande, ali takvo je opravdanje teško braniti jer se krši veliko dostignuće razvijenog zapadnog svijeta o slobodnim medijima i slobodi javne riječi. Ovo nije presedan jer su već najveće društvene mreže zabranom komuniciranja tadašnjem američkom predsjedniku Donaldu Trumpu učinile taj korak poslije kojega se može očekivati da će se i ubuduće ograničavati sloboda govora kad to ocijene korisnim centri moći - istaknuo je Đorđe Obradović.
- Zabrana rada televiziji Russia Today i portalu Sputnik odlukom Vijeća Europske unije, koju su odlukama regulatora već primijenili u državama EU pa i Hrvatskoj, slično kao što se događa u SAD i Velikoj Britaniji, dugoročno će samo osnažiti autoritarne režime u svijetu, među kojima ima i velikih sila, da zabranjuju i ograničavaju rad medija koje proglase propagandnim, jer ako to može činiti demokratski Zapad, zašto ne bi mogli i oni?

- Osobno mislim da se bolje suprotstavljati propagandi novinarstvom zasnovanom na poznatim načelima o točnom, istinitom, poštenom, uravnoteženom i nepristranom informiranju, a ne cenzurom glasila "druge strane" - naglasio je.

Nakon što je Agencija za elektroničke medije (AEM) u srijedu Hrvatskoj regulatornoj agenciji za mrežne djelatnosti na postupanje poslala uredbu Vijeća EU kojom se zabranjuje emitiranje Russia Today i Sputnik ''putem kabela, satelita, IPTV platformi, platformi za dijeljenje sadržaja ili aplikacija'', situaciju je komentirao dubrovački komunikolog Đorđe Obradović:
- Stara izreka, citirana i u Malovićevoj knjizi Osnove novinarstva, glasi da je istina prva žrtva rata. Tako je i u sadašnjem ratu Rusije protiv Ukrajine. Mediji se koriste za širenje propagande i pravdanje poduzetih akcija. U današnje doba, kad društvene mreže povezuju sve dijelove svijeta i pojedince koji objavljuju priloge i s mjesta na koje novinari zbog ratnih djelovanja ne mogu doći, na prvi bi se pogled moglo pomisliti da se ipak može spoznati istina. Ali, nije tako - rekao je Obradović, pa objasnio i zašto:

- Rusija je ograničila mnoge medijske sadržaje i medije, kao i komuniciranje na društvenim mrežama. Od autoritarnog režima to se i očekivalo. No, Zapad, u čijim je temeljima sloboda govora i u novinarstvu načelo "neka se čuje i druga strana", uzvraća istom mjerom. Više se na cenzuru ne odgovara slobodom govora, nego cenzurom. Opravdanje je strah od širenja ruske propagande, ali takvo je opravdanje teško braniti jer se krši veliko dostignuće razvijenog zapadnog svijeta o slobodnim medijima i slobodi javne riječi. Ovo nije presedan jer su već najveće društvene mreže zabranom komuniciranja tadašnjem američkom predsjedniku Donaldu Trumpu učinile taj korak poslije kojega se može očekivati da će se i ubuduće ograničavati sloboda govora kad to ocijene korisnim centri moći - istaknuo je Đorđe Obradović.
- Zabrana rada televiziji Russia Today i portalu Sputnik odlukom Vijeća Europske unije, koju su odlukama regulatora već primijenili u državama EU pa i Hrvatskoj, slično kao što se događa u SAD i Velikoj Britaniji, dugoročno će samo osnažiti autoritarne režime u svijetu, među kojima ima i velikih sila, da zabranjuju i ograničavaju rad medija koje proglase propagandnim, jer ako to može činiti demokratski Zapad, zašto ne bi mogli i oni?

- Osobno mislim da se bolje suprotstavljati propagandi novinarstvom zasnovanom na poznatim načelima o točnom, istinitom, poštenom, uravnoteženom i nepristranom informiranju, a ne cenzurom glasila "druge strane" - naglasio je.
