Potres magnitude 4,8 koji je danas pogodio otok Krk, a osjetio se diljem Hrvatskog primorja, uznemirio je građane. Iako nije bilo ozlijeđenih, a ni veće materijalne štete, brojni su građani i dalje uplašeni. Postavljaju se brojna pitanja uključujući i ona o mogućoj povezanosti s potresima u Turskoj. Uz pomoć seizmologa dr. Ive Dasović i dr. Josipa Stipčevića s Geofizičkog odsjeka Prirodoslovno-matematičkog fakulteta pokušali smo odgovoriti na ta pitanja, piše Jutarnji.

Postoji li veza između potresa u Turskoj i onih koji su nakon toga zabilježeni u Hrvatskoj?

- Rasjedni sustavi u Turskoj i Hrvatskoj nisu ni na koji način povezani. Pomak na jednom ne može gotovo nikako utjecati na pomake u drugom. Pogotovo se to ne može dogoditi u tako kratkom razdoblju. Između Turske i Hrvatske ima oko 1500 km. Nakon nekog većeg potresa sustav se prirodno nastoji vratiti u ravnotežu. U tom procesu on može povećati naprezanja na nekom drugom rasjedu. Međutim, taj proces je vrlo spor i može trajati tisućama godina. No čak i tako jak potres kakav se dogodio u Turskoj ne bi trebao utjecati na zbivanja u Hrvatskoj, čak ni u takvom procesu – rekao je dr. Josip Stipčević.

Gdje se dogodio današnji potres?

- Potres lokalne magnitude 4,8 dogodio se u blizini mjesta Baška na otoku Krku a žarište mu je bilo plitko na dubini između 8 i 10 kilometara. Dakle, riječ je o Hrvatskom primorju. Područje Hrvatskog primorja nalazi se na dodiru Jadranske mikroploče i Euroazijske ploče. Tijekom pomicanja Jadranske mikroploče prema sjeveroistoku i u sudaru s Europskom pločom, izdigli su se Dinaridi na sjeveroistoku i Alpe na sjeveru. Procijenjene vrijednosti konvergentnog kretanja Jadranske mikroploče u odnosu na Euroazijsku ploču su u rasponu od 0,5 na sjeverozapadu do 4,5 milimetara godišnje na jugoistoku. U Hrvatskom primorju najznačajnija je rasjedna zona Ilirska Bistrica – Rijeka – Vinodol – Senj – rekla je dr. Iva Dasović.

Koliko je procijenjena maksimalna očekivana magnituda za područje na kojem se danas dogodio potres?

- Na području Primorja u prošlosti su se događali snažni potresi. Jedan od najsnažnijih bio je potres 12. ožujka 1916. godine kod Novog Vinodolskog lokalne magnitude 5, 8. Aproksimativno procjenjujemo da bi najveća magnituda potresa na tom području mogla biti 6,0 do 6,5 – rekao je Josip Stipčević.

Je li pojačana seizmička aktivnost na području Mediterana?

- U prosjeku gledano nije. Trenutno je pojačana seizmička aktivnost na području istočnog Mediterana, tj. na području jugoistočne Turske i sjeverne Sirije – rekla je dr. Iva Dasović.

Postoji li znanstveno potvrđen način predviđanja potresa?

- U medijima se pojavila vijest da je potres kod Baške bio predviđen. Opet moramo naglasiti da potrese nije moguće predvidjeti. Primjerice u posljednjih 24 h na Zemlji se dogodilo više od 15 potresa magnitude usporedive ili veće od današnjeg potresa kod Baške.

Zasad sva istraživanja pokazuju da su potresi, a posebno veliki, snažni potresi, izuzetno složene pojave i vrlo teško predvidljivi zbog svoje kaotične prirode. Na samom kraju, nećemo puno postići s preciznim prognozama/predviđanjima potresa, ako snažnoj trešnji ne prilagodimo građevine, posebno u seizmički ugroženim područjima. Ako ih sagradimo tako da izdrže snažnu trešnju bez većih oštećenja, spasit ćemo živote i smanjiti ekonomski gubitak – rekla je dr. Iva Dasović.

Potres magnitude 4,8 koji je danas pogodio otok Krk, a osjetio se diljem Hrvatskog primorja, uznemirio je građane. Iako nije bilo ozlijeđenih, a ni veće materijalne štete, brojni su građani i dalje uplašeni. Postavljaju se brojna pitanja uključujući i ona o mogućoj povezanosti s potresima u Turskoj. Uz pomoć seizmologa dr. Ive Dasović i dr. Josipa Stipčevića s Geofizičkog odsjeka Prirodoslovno-matematičkog fakulteta pokušali smo odgovoriti na ta pitanja, piše Jutarnji.

Postoji li veza između potresa u Turskoj i onih koji su nakon toga zabilježeni u Hrvatskoj?

- Rasjedni sustavi u Turskoj i Hrvatskoj nisu ni na koji način povezani. Pomak na jednom ne može gotovo nikako utjecati na pomake u drugom. Pogotovo se to ne može dogoditi u tako kratkom razdoblju. Između Turske i Hrvatske ima oko 1500 km. Nakon nekog većeg potresa sustav se prirodno nastoji vratiti u ravnotežu. U tom procesu on može povećati naprezanja na nekom drugom rasjedu. Međutim, taj proces je vrlo spor i može trajati tisućama godina. No čak i tako jak potres kakav se dogodio u Turskoj ne bi trebao utjecati na zbivanja u Hrvatskoj, čak ni u takvom procesu – rekao je dr. Josip Stipčević.

Gdje se dogodio današnji potres?

- Potres lokalne magnitude 4,8 dogodio se u blizini mjesta Baška na otoku Krku a žarište mu je bilo plitko na dubini između 8 i 10 kilometara. Dakle, riječ je o Hrvatskom primorju. Područje Hrvatskog primorja nalazi se na dodiru Jadranske mikroploče i Euroazijske ploče. Tijekom pomicanja Jadranske mikroploče prema sjeveroistoku i u sudaru s Europskom pločom, izdigli su se Dinaridi na sjeveroistoku i Alpe na sjeveru. Procijenjene vrijednosti konvergentnog kretanja Jadranske mikroploče u odnosu na Euroazijsku ploču su u rasponu od 0,5 na sjeverozapadu do 4,5 milimetara godišnje na jugoistoku. U Hrvatskom primorju najznačajnija je rasjedna zona Ilirska Bistrica – Rijeka – Vinodol – Senj – rekla je dr. Iva Dasović.

Koliko je procijenjena maksimalna očekivana magnituda za područje na kojem se danas dogodio potres?

- Na području Primorja u prošlosti su se događali snažni potresi. Jedan od najsnažnijih bio je potres 12. ožujka 1916. godine kod Novog Vinodolskog lokalne magnitude 5, 8. Aproksimativno procjenjujemo da bi najveća magnituda potresa na tom području mogla biti 6,0 do 6,5 – rekao je Josip Stipčević.

Je li pojačana seizmička aktivnost na području Mediterana?

- U prosjeku gledano nije. Trenutno je pojačana seizmička aktivnost na području istočnog Mediterana, tj. na području jugoistočne Turske i sjeverne Sirije – rekla je dr. Iva Dasović.

Postoji li znanstveno potvrđen način predviđanja potresa?

- U medijima se pojavila vijest da je potres kod Baške bio predviđen. Opet moramo naglasiti da potrese nije moguće predvidjeti. Primjerice u posljednjih 24 h na Zemlji se dogodilo više od 15 potresa magnitude usporedive ili veće od današnjeg potresa kod Baške.

Zasad sva istraživanja pokazuju da su potresi, a posebno veliki, snažni potresi, izuzetno složene pojave i vrlo teško predvidljivi zbog svoje kaotične prirode. Na samom kraju, nećemo puno postići s preciznim prognozama/predviđanjima potresa, ako snažnoj trešnji ne prilagodimo građevine, posebno u seizmički ugroženim područjima. Ako ih sagradimo tako da izdrže snažnu trešnju bez većih oštećenja, spasit ćemo živote i smanjiti ekonomski gubitak – rekla je dr. Iva Dasović.

Potres magnitude 4,8 koji je danas pogodio otok Krk, a osjetio se diljem Hrvatskog primorja, uznemirio je građane. Iako nije bilo ozlijeđenih, a ni veće materijalne štete, brojni su građani i dalje uplašeni. Postavljaju se brojna pitanja uključujući i ona o mogućoj povezanosti s potresima u Turskoj. Uz pomoć seizmologa dr. Ive Dasović i dr. Josipa Stipčevića s Geofizičkog odsjeka Prirodoslovno-matematičkog fakulteta pokušali smo odgovoriti na ta pitanja, piše Jutarnji.

Postoji li veza između potresa u Turskoj i onih koji su nakon toga zabilježeni u Hrvatskoj?

- Rasjedni sustavi u Turskoj i Hrvatskoj nisu ni na koji način povezani. Pomak na jednom ne može gotovo nikako utjecati na pomake u drugom. Pogotovo se to ne može dogoditi u tako kratkom razdoblju.
