More and more European doors are being opened for Croatian workers. After news that Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg will all remove restrictions to Croatian workers comes news that Spain is also to follow suit.Croatia became a full member of the European Union on the 1st of July 2013 and many other member states immediately put employment restrictions on Croatians. These very restrictions are now coming to an end in many countries and from the 1st of July this year Spain will lift labour limitations on Croatians. In total 13 European Union members installed temporary work restrictions when Croatia entered the EU. The United Kingdom, Slovenia and the Netherlands all implemented the longest possible ban of seven years. Whilst Sweden, Ireland, Finland, Portugal, Poland, Romania, Ireland, Slovakia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Latvia and Lithuania all choose not to enforce any labour restrictions.Whilst Spain is not on the radar for many Croatian workers, traditionally Germany is the most attractive destination; it could be interesting for tourism professionals. Ireland and Sweden have proved the most popular countries for migrant Croatian workers, although the numbers are still relatively small.
