More cruise ships less passengers

The number of cruise ships in Croatia waters in the first six months of this year increased compared to last year. A grand total of 168 cruisers entered Croatian territorial waters from January to June which is almost 6 percent more than the same period from 2014. However, according to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics, there were fewer passengers in Croatia, around 7 percent less.Cruise ship tourism in Croatia is completely dominated by Dubrovnik. Nearly 60 percent of all cruise ships that come to Croatia actually come to Dubrovnik. The second most popular destination along the Adriatic coastline is Split, which receives around 28 percent of cruise ships.The bureau of statistics stated that on average cruise ships spend two days in Croatian territorial waters and that the most popular month in the first half of the year was May. Cruise ships in Croatian seas sailed under the flags of thirteen different countries, with the most popular being Malta, followed by Panama and the Bahamas.
