Jazz at Park Orsula with Thana Alexa

The Croatian/American jazz singer Thana Alexa with her band will perform as part of the 66th Dubrovnik Summer Festival on the 29th of July in the Park Orsula. This will be the first time that the Dubrovnik Summer Festival and the Park Orsula have collaborated.Thana Alexa is a talented jazz, blues and soul singer and composer; her roots are Croatian although she was born in New York. Alexa has built a successful career in the US and Croatia and has performed with many well-known artists. Inspired by some of the greatest divas such as Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin and Ella Fitzgerald, Alexa has recently released her first solo album, entitled "Ode to Heroes," later this month which includes her own compositions and arrangements. On this new album Alexa worked with some of the biggest names in the jazz world today such as Antonio Sanchez, Jorge Roeder, Sergio Salvatore, Donny McCaslin, Scott Colley and Christos Rafalides.Orsula Park is one of the most beautiful summer stages in the Dubrovnik region, situated overlooking the historic Old City of Dubrovnik, the island of Lokrum and the Adriatic Sea. In such an atmospheric amphitheatre the Thana Alexa concert should be a magical night.
