Američki nacionalni centar za uragane objavio je kako je tropska oluja Nicholas ojačala u uragan tijekom ponedjeljka navečer te bi mogla udariti u obale Teksasa i Louisiane brzinom od 120 kilometara na sat.

Podizanje razine mora i kiše koje prate uragan Nicholas prijete poplavama opasnima po život.

Teksaški guverner Greg Abbott najavio je kako će proglasiti izvanredno stanje u 17 okruga te tri grada u priobalnom dijelu te američke savezne države dok su spasilačke ekipe u čamcima i helikopterima u stanju pripravnosti.

Očekuje se kako će u nekim dijelovima Teksasa do srijede pasti i pola metra kiše.

Nicholas je drugi uragan u dva tjedna koji prijeti američkoj obali u Meksičkom zaljevu, nakon što je krajem kolovoza uragan Ida poharao Louisianu ostavivši za sobom više od 25 poginulih.

"Želimo biti sigurni kako ova oluja neće uhvatiti nikoga nespremnim. Najveću brigu zadaje nam jaka kiša", izjavio je guverner Louisiane John Bel Edwards upozorivši kako su odvodni sustavi i dalje začepljeni nanosima koje je uzrokovala Ida.

Gradonačelnik Houstona Sylvester Turner pozvao je 2.3 milijuna stanovnika toga grada da ostanu u svojim domovima.

"Shvatite ozbiljno ovu situaciju i pripremite se. Ne znamo koliko kiše će pasti", kazao je Turner.

Zbog uragana Nicholasa u Houstonu u utorak neće raditi škole.

Američki nacionalni centar za uragane objavio je kako je tropska oluja Nicholas ojačala u uragan tijekom ponedjeljka navečer te bi mogla udariti u obale Teksasa i Louisiane brzinom od 120 kilometara na sat.

Podizanje razine mora i kiše koje prate uragan Nicholas prijete poplavama opasnima po život.

Teksaški guverner Greg Abbott najavio je kako će proglasiti izvanredno stanje u 17 okruga te tri grada u priobalnom dijelu te američke savezne države dok su spasilačke ekipe u čamcima i helikopterima u stanju pripravnosti.

Očekuje se kako će u nekim dijelovima Teksasa do srijede pasti i pola metra kiše.

Nicholas je drugi uragan u dva tjedna koji prijeti američkoj obali u Meksičkom zaljevu, nakon što je krajem kolovoza uragan Ida poharao Louisianu ostavivši za sobom više od 25 poginulih.

"Želimo biti sigurni kako ova oluja neće uhvatiti nikoga nespremnim. Najveću brigu zadaje nam jaka kiša", izjavio je guverner Louisiane John Bel Edwards upozorivši kako su odvodni sustavi i dalje začepljeni nanosima koje je uzrokovala Ida.

Gradonačelnik Houstona Sylvester Turner pozvao je 2.3 milijuna stanovnika toga grada da ostanu u svojim domovima.

"Shvatite ozbiljno ovu situaciju i pripremite se. Ne znamo koliko kiše će pasti", kazao je Turner.

Zbog uragana Nicholasa u Houstonu u utorak neće raditi škole.

Američki nacionalni centar za uragane objavio je kako je tropska oluja Nicholas ojačala u uragan tijekom ponedjeljka navečer te bi mogla udariti u obale Teksasa i Louisiane brzinom od 120 kilometara na sat.

Podizanje razine mora i kiše koje prate uragan Nicholas prijete poplavama opasnima po život.

Teksaški guverner Greg Abbott najavio je kako će proglasiti izvanredno stanje u 17 okruga te tri grada u priobalnom dijelu te američke savezne države dok su spasilačke ekipe u čamcima i helikopterima u stanju pripravnosti.

Očekuje se kako će u nekim dijelovima Teksasa do srijede pasti i pola metra kiše.

Nicholas je drugi uragan u dva tjedna koji prijeti američkoj obali u Meksičkom zaljevu, nakon što je krajem kolovoza uragan Ida poharao Louisianu ostavivši za sobom više od 25 poginu...
