Devedeset jedna osoba je poginula, a više od 100 je ozlijeđeno u petak u glavnom gradu Sierra Leonea kad je eksplodirao kamion cisterna nakon sudara, objavili su središnja mrtvačnica i lokalne vlasti.

Vlada još nije potvrdila broj mrtvih, no upravitelj središnje mrtvačnice u Freetownu rekao je da je nakon eksplozije pristiglo 91 tijelo.

Dodatnih 100 ozlijeđenih primljeno je u bolnice i klinike diljem glavnog grada, rekao je zamjenik ministra zdravstva Amara Jambai.

Među žrtvama su i ljudi koji su skupljali gorivo koje je procurilo iz oštećene cisterne, rekla je u postu na Facebooku Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, gradonačelnica lučkog grada.

"Imamo puno žrtava, spaljenih trupala", rekao je Brima Bureh Sesay, čelnik nacionalne agencije za krizni menadžment, u videu s mjesta događaja. "To je grozna, grozna nesreća." Slike koje su se dijelile online pokazale su nekoliko teško opečenih žrtava kako leže na ulicama dok se požar proširio na trgovine i kuće u blizini. 

Nesreće cisterni u subsaharskoj Africi prethodno su već usmrćivale veliki broj ljudi koji bi se okupljali kako bi skupili proliveno gorivo te bi stradali od eksplozije.

2019. je eksplozija cisterne na istoku Tanzanije usmrtila 85 osoba, dok je 50 osoba ubijeno u sličnoj katastrofi u Demokratskoj Republici Kongo 2018. godine.

Gradonačelnica je rekla da razmjeri štete u Freetownu još nisu poznata, dodavši da su policija i njezin zamjenik na mjestu događaja spremni pomoći službenicima za upravljanje katastrofama.

"Moje najdublje suosjećanje obiteljima koji su izgubili najmilije i onima koji su osakaćeni", tvitao je predsjednik Julius Maada.

"Moja vlada će učiniti sve da pomogne obiteljima stradalih."

Devedeset jedna osoba je poginula, a više od 100 je ozlijeđeno u petak u glavnom gradu Sierra Leonea kad je eksplodirao kamion cisterna nakon sudara, objavili su središnja mrtvačnica i lokalne vlasti.

Vlada još nije potvrdila broj mrtvih, no upravitelj središnje mrtvačnice u Freetownu rekao je da je nakon eksplozije pristiglo 91 tijelo.

Dodatnih 100 ozlijeđenih primljeno je u bolnice i klinike diljem glavnog grada, rekao je zamjenik ministra zdravstva Amara Jambai.

Među žrtvama su i ljudi koji su skupljali gorivo koje je procurilo iz oštećene cisterne, rekla je u postu na Facebooku Yvonne Aki-Sawyerr, gradonačelnica lučkog grada.

"Imamo puno žrtava, spaljenih trupala", rekao je Brima Bureh Sesay, čelnik nacionalne agencije za krizni menadžment, u videu s mjesta događaja. "To je grozna, grozna nesreća." Slike koje su se dijelile online pokazale su nekoliko teško opečenih žrtava kako leže na ulicama dok se požar proširio na trgovine i kuće u blizini. 

Nesreće cisterni u subsaharskoj Africi prethodno su već usmrćivale veliki broj ljudi koji bi se okupljali kako bi skupili proliveno gorivo te bi stradali od eksplozije.

2019. je eksplozija cisterne na istoku Tanzanije usmrtila 85 osoba, dok je 50 osoba ubijeno u sličnoj katastrofi u Demokratskoj Republici Kongo 2018. godine.

Gradonačelnica je rekla da razmjeri štete u Freetownu još nisu poznata, dodavši da su policija i njezin zamjenik na mjestu događaja spremni pomoći službenicima za upravljanje katastrofama.

"Moje najdublje suosjećanje obiteljima koji su izgubili najmilije i onima koji su osakaćeni", tvitao je predsjednik Julius Maada.

"Moja vlada će učiniti sve da pomogne obiteljima stradalih."
