Inauguracija novog američkog predsjednika Joea Bidena uspjela je već i zato što – suprotno nekim očekivanjima - nije bilo nasilja i nitko nije stradao.

Pomalo nadrealna ceremonija radikalno je odudarala od uobičajenih, kakve smo kroz američku povijest svake četiri godine viđali u Washingtonu. Prvo, zbog pandemije koronavirusa na ulicama Washingtona nije bilo uobičajene masovne publike – umjesto toga, stanovnicima Washingtona odavno je rečeno da ostanu kod kuće i inauguraciju prate virtualnim putem.

Drugo, zbog nedavnog napada nahuškane Trumpove rulje na zgradu Kongresa inauguraciju Joea Bidena osiguravao je golemi broj pripadnika Nacionalne garde, uz nezapamćene mjere sigurnosti, žičane ograde i betonske blokove oko Kapitola. Umjesto stotina tisuća građana, na ulicama Washingtona raspoređeni su deseci tisuća vojnika.

I treće, suprotno drevnim američkim običajima, stari predsjednik nije došao pozdraviti novog: Donald Trump odbio je prisustvovati Bidenovoj inauguraciji – čime zapravo poručuje kako i dalje ne vjeruje da je Bidenova pobjeda regularna, odnosno kako vjeruje u krađu glasova - te je radije zbrisao na Floridu, samo da ne mora stisnuti ruku pobjedniku.

To su bile ključne ikonografske oznake vjerojatno najneobičnije inauguracije u američkoj povijesti, u okviru koje je himnu SAD-a otpjevala Lady Gaga.

Lamentacija o sudbini

Premda je u Bidenovom govoru bilo i nekih „trumpoidnih” elemenata plitkog i patetičnog nacionalizma („Ovo je velika nacija, mi smo dobri ljudi. Tijekom stoljeća toliko smo napredovali...”), generalno je to bio jedan umjereno progresivni govor „ujaka Joea”, u kojem je novi predsjednik SAD-a priznao postojanje strukturnog rasizma u američkom društvu:

„Naša povijest je stalna borba između američkog ideala - da smo svi stvoreni jednaki - i okrutne stvarnosti, rasizma i ekstremizma”, dijagnosticirao je stanje američkog duha Biden, koji se pokušao predstaviti kao ujedinitelj nacije i „predsjednik svih Amerikanaca”, s apelom da prestane „ovaj necivilizirani rat između plavih i crvenih, između urbanog i ruralnog, između liberala i konzervativaca”.

U pojedinim trenucima to nije bio samo (vrsni) politički govor, nego i svojevrsna filozofska lamentacija o životu jednog skoro 80-godišnjeg veterana koji je iskusio i najteže aspekte nepredvidivosti životnog puta:

„Nikad ne znate što vam sudbina donosi”, rekao je čovjek koji je u životu na tragične načine izgubio suprugu, kćer i sina.

Dio govora novi predsjednik SAD-a posvetio je borbi protiv pandemije, pri čemu se nije libio realistično ocrtati američku stvarnost. Govorio je o predstojećoj „mračnoj zimi smrtonosnog virusa”, kojeg međutim nijednom nije nazvao „kineskim virusom”, kao što je to redovito činio njegov prethodnik u Bijeloj kući.

Također, molitvom za 400.000 Amerikanaca koji su dosad umrli od korone sugerirao je da će pandemiju shvatiti mnogo ozbiljnije od Trumpa.

Stara dogma o američkoj izuzetnosti

Nije to bio spektakularni govor u stilu Cicerona ili Demostena, ali je u velikoj mjeri bio govor kakav je današnjoj Americi – ranjenoj iznutra i podijeljenoj po ideološkim crtama – uvelike trebao. Bio je to smireni i racionalni govor, ali ipak dovoljno energičan i optimističan da zadovolji američke standarde.

U te standarde valjda spada i završni blagoslov američke vojske („Neka Bog zaštiti naše vojnike”, rekao je Biden na kraju govora), kao podsjetnik da je Amerika još uvijek najveća militaristička sila svijeta, sa svim dobrim i lošim posljedicama te činjenice, odnosno kao dokaz da i novi predsjednik SAD-a slijedi staru dogmu o „američkoj izuzetnosti”, kojom Bijela kuća opravdava silne američke vojne intervencije po svijetu.

Inauguracija je prošla, sada slijede prvi potezi. Kako je objavio Bidenov budući šef kabineta Ron Klain, novi predsjednik SAD već prvog će dana u Bijeloj kući potpisati niz uredbi – među njima navodno i onu o vraćanju Sjedinjenih Država u Pariški klimatski sporazum, te će do 1. veljače donijeti i niz drugih dekreta o borba protiv pandemije, borbi protiv klimatskih promjena, oživljavanju gospodarstva te borbi za socijalnu i rasnu pravdu.

„Ove mjere olakšat će milijune Amerikanaca koji pate od ove krize. Novi predsjednik Biden će djelovati ne samo da poništi ozbiljnu štetu koju je Trumpova administracija napravila, već i da zemlju pomakne naprijed”, poručio je Bidenov šef kabineta.

Inauguracija novog američkog predsjednika Joea Bidena uspjela je već i zato što – suprotno nekim očekivanjima - nije bilo nasilja i nitko nije stradao.

Pomalo nadrealna ceremonija radikalno je odudarala od uobičajenih, kakve smo kroz američku povijest svake četiri godine viđali u Washingtonu. Prvo, zbog pandemije koronavirusa na ulicama Washingtona nije bilo uobičajene masovne publike – umjesto toga, stanovnicima Washingtona odavno je rečeno da ostanu kod kuće i inauguraciju prate virtualnim putem.

Drugo, zbog nedavnog napada nahuškane Trumpove rulje na zgradu Kongresa inauguraciju Joea Bidena osiguravao je golemi broj pripadnika Nacionalne garde, uz nezapamćene mjere sigurnosti, žičane ograde i betonske blokove oko Kapitola. Umjesto stotina tisuća građana, na ulicama Washingtona raspoređeni su deseci tisuća vojnika.

I treće, suprotno drevnim američkim običajima, stari predsjednik nije došao pozdraviti novog: Donald Trump odbio je prisustvovati Bidenovoj inauguraciji – čime zapravo poručuje kako i dalje ne vjeruje da je Bidenova pobjeda regularna, odnosno kako vjeruje u krađu glasova - te je radije zbrisao na Floridu, samo da ne mora stisnuti ruku pobjedniku.

To su bile ključne ikonografske oznake vjerojatno najneobičnije inauguracije u američkoj povijesti, u okviru koje je himnu SAD-a otpjevala Lady Gaga.

Lamentacija o sudbini

Premda je u Bidenovom govoru bilo i nekih „trumpoidnih” elemenata plitkog i patetičnog nacionalizma („Ovo je velika nacija, mi smo dobri ljudi. Tijekom stoljeća toliko smo napredovali...”), generalno je to bio jedan umjereno progresivni govor „ujaka Joea”, u kojem je novi predsjednik SAD-a priznao postojanje strukturnog rasizma u američkom društvu:

„Naša povijest je stalna borba između američkog ideala - da smo svi stvoreni jednaki - i okrutne stvarnosti, rasizma i ekstremizma”, dijagnosticirao je stanje američkog duha Biden, koji se pokušao predstaviti kao ujedinitelj nacije i „predsjednik svih Amerikanaca”, s apelom da prestane „ovaj necivilizirani rat između plavih i crvenih, između urbanog i ruralnog, između liberala i konzervativaca”.

U pojedinim trenucima to nije bio samo (vrsni) politički govor, nego i svojevrsna filozofska lamentacija o životu jednog skoro 80-godišnjeg veterana koji je iskusio i najteže aspekte nepredvidivosti životnog puta:

„Nikad ne znate što vam sudbina donosi”, rekao je čovjek koji je u životu na tragične načine izgubio suprugu, kćer i sina.

Dio govora novi predsjednik SAD-a posvetio je borbi protiv pandemije, pri čemu se nije libio realistično ocrtati američku stvarnost. Govorio je o predstojećoj „mračnoj zimi smrtonosnog virusa”, kojeg međutim nijednom nije nazvao „kineskim virusom”, kao što je to redovito činio njegov prethodnik u Bijeloj kući.

Također, molitvom za 400.000 Amerikanaca koji su dosad umrli od korone sugerirao je da će pandemiju shvatiti mnogo ozbiljnije od Trumpa.

Stara dogma o američkoj izuzetnosti

Nije to bio spektakularni govor u stilu Cicerona ili Demostena, ali je u velikoj mjeri bio govor kakav je današnjoj Americi – ranjenoj iznutra i podijeljenoj po ideološkim crtama – uvelike trebao. Bio je to smireni i racionalni govor, ali ipak dovoljno energičan i optimističan da zadovolji američke standarde.

U te standarde valjda spada i završni blagoslov američke vojske („Neka Bog zaštiti naše vojnike”, rekao je Biden na kraju govora), kao podsjetnik da je Amerika još uvijek najveća militaristička sila svijeta, sa svim dobrim i lošim posljedicama te činjenice, odnosno kao dokaz da i novi predsjednik SAD-a slijedi staru dogmu o „američkoj izuzetnosti”, kojom Bijela kuća opravdava silne američke vojne intervencije po svijetu.

Inauguracija je prošla, sada slijede prvi potezi. Kako je objavio Bidenov budući šef kabineta Ron Klain, novi predsjednik SAD već prvog će dana u Bijeloj kući potpisati niz uredbi – među njima navodno i onu o vraćanju Sjedinjenih Država u Pariški klimatski sporazum, te će do 1. veljače donijeti i niz drugih dekreta o borba protiv pandemije, borbi protiv klimatskih promjena, oživljavanju gospodarstva te borbi za socijalnu i rasnu pravdu.

„Ove mjere olakšat će milijune Amerikanaca koji pate od ove krize. Novi predsjednik Biden će djelovati ne samo da poništi ozbiljnu štetu koju je Trumpova administracija napravila, već i da zemlju pomakne naprijed”, poručio je Bidenov šef kabineta.
